Myths, at least, in every other fan-space I’ve been to, are pretty much just full-fledged stories that you are given full permission to do whatever you want with! So long as you keep some of the character’s core, you can write virtually whatever story you want, with a message that may or may not tie into the original. The way to critique something like this is always to think about whether or not your version of the character sabotages what you’re trying to write or not, and whether or not you can make a more effective concept.

When I discovered roblox myths and account-based lore, it honestly seemed like something like this but with extra freedom, as these accounts don’t have personalities! They have actions you can base your characterisations off of, sure, but one guy could steal a dollar and another could steal two, and the first guy could still be greedier. Deciding the intent already gives you a bunch of leeway. But I do not get any the criticism?? I keep seeing people state that myths are ‘out of character’, which very much confuses me.

Myths are so beloved because different writers interpret them differently, aren’t they? It’s the case with Roblox from what I’ve seen, too. What is with this critique? From what I’ve seen, the ‘character’ you’re supposed to adhere to when you interpret the myths is pretty much just the more popular, older ones, which is just absurd to me.

This fanbase feels like (bare with me. this is the best analogy I could come up with) a restaurant that’s got the ingredients and such for virtually anything, you can order whatever you want, and some dude gets a sandwich or something. He happens to be the first person to go here, resulting in everyone who arrives getting that same sandwich. It’s great, but they kind of forget the restaurant can do anything along the way, and when someone shows up to get something else, they’re treated weird for it, because everyone’s kind of decided this was a sandwich place.

If you’re going to gatekeeping writing myths, that’s some false advertising considering the ‘myth’ title.

Uuh, hottest thing I’ve got on me that won’t render me typing out paragraphs, I unironically don’t mind the ‘oh god the entire myth fandom is forsaken’ issue. I think it’s pretty fun, actually, specifically because the Forsaken fanbase never sticks to canon! Every rendition of the ‘Forsaken’ cast is an interpretation in and of itself with basis on a pre-existing character, which is what writing myths in general is all about :)!

Have the time of your lives saken enjoyers. Ignore the game’s canon and the ‘definitely existent roblox canon’ (myths do not have characters most of the time, I don’t get that one either) people tell you you’re ‘ruining’. You’re just expressing your love for something at the base level, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that (seriously, fandom is dubbed that way for a reason).

I can't help but resent grow a garden and steal a brainrot because I'm extremely sad kids are growing up with 90% mindless filth instead of something actually fun and compelling. I miss when people made story oriented games. Games like identity fraud were the shit.

i’m kind of sad about that as well.. the home page is overrun with stupid clickbait brainrot games and i struggle looking for good games

The reasoning for n7's sexuality doesn't matter to me. I'm just happy that at least there's something for aromantics who don't experience romantic attraction period, who don't want to date, and have 0 "special exceptions"
