Robin was born in Liverpool to two seniors in high school who had made the unwise decision to have sex without a condom. Their relationship was fairly strong, at least in their minds. They had been together for over a year when this tragedy happened. They were so into what was happening in the moment, they didnât care that they had just run out of condoms. Robinâs mother trusted their father to pull out, however he failed and the moment they had finished, their mother lashed out at her boyfriend. He made her a promise and she felt betrayed.
In that moment, she decided to stop seeing him for a while and tried living on her own. That didnât last long as over a month had passed without her period. She began to worry and knew what the cause might have been, but she still hoped that she was wrong. She was always so careful, but one small slip up could have ruined her life. She made the decision to buy a pregnancy test and hoped for the best. Robinâs mother prayed her suspicions were wrong, but the moment she read the result, she knew that she was right. She needed her boyfriend around if she was going to raise a child. Sadly, he didnât come through and yelled at her, saying that she was lying and was only telling him this in an attempt to get him back. This was the last time they spoke and the most disappointing moment of her life thus far.
She was crushed and lost. She was too afraid to tell her parents or friends and I caused her to go through a deep depression during her pregnancy. Robinâs mother wasnât sure what to do and simply tried continuing on in life as if she wasnât pregnant. Obviously it didnât take long for her closest friend to notice and talk to her about it. This conversation lead to her decision to abort her child. This way her parents would never find out and neither would the rest of her friends. However, she didnât know much about abortion and only started saving up for it when her friend suggested it, and even at that time it was far too late. When she set up the appointment, she spoke with the doctor and quickly realized that her plan wasnât going to work. She was too late, and now everyone in her life would know that she was pregnant. Sheâd likely get disowned and that terrified her, making her even more eager to avoid telling her parents. However, her belly was beginning to show more and more and her parents soon found out, doing exactly as she feared.
Now, she was homeless and pregnant. She didnât know where to go and was about to give up, when her closest friend approached her and offered her a spot at her house. Their mother graciously accepted and moved in the next day. In the new home, she did her best to pull her weight around the house, but knew that she wasnât doing very well, mainly because her mind was distracted and because she was pregnant. She had no idea what she was going to do with this child, since she knew there was no way to keep it, as much as she wanted to. Finally, after months of thinking, she made the bold decision to put her child up for adoption. That way, they still had a chance of surviving.
Only a few more months had passed when their mother went into labor and after 27 hours, a handsome baby boy was born, but in that same moment, it was revealed that Robinâs mother was having twins. This new information only made her decision to put her child, now children, up for adoption. Whether she was okay with this new information or not, the second baby was coming and 19 hours later, a beautiful baby girl was born. She was so happy to have these children in her arms, yet so devastated because she knew there was no way she could keep either one. She cried tears of joy and sadness that day, one after the other. Taking the babies home, Robinâs mother knew she had to take care of them for a few weeks for her breast milk. She hated breast feeding them, but knew it was the healthiest option for them and forced herself through it and the moment the babies could survive without her, she went to the adoption center and gave her two kids away and told the adoption agency to keep all her information confidential.
The couple that adopted Robin had lived in Liverpool for nearly 10 years when they made the decision to adopt a child and move back to their home town where they met. They knew how great of a town it was and how accepting the community was. It was a town filled with good people and that was the kind of town that they wanted their child to grow up in. So they went to the adoption center and filled out the necessary paperwork. After a few short weeks of waiting, they received an okay and adopted a small baby boy that was perfect in every way in their eyes and only a few months later, moved back to their hometown of Newshore.
Growing up, Robin was a fairly disobedient child. They would defy and fight every order and task they were given and made their parents life difficult in every way they could. Robinâs parents still loved their child and wanted to keep them, but they couldnât deal with how bad they acted. Eventually, Robinâs father decided to take them to see a family therapist and learn strategies to help them listen better. The methods didnât work for the first few months, but after a while they began to take effect. Robin started behaving better and listening to their parents more. They still disagreed and fought with their parents from time to time, but they got better and any progress was improvement in Robinâs parentâs eyes.
When Robin started going to school, they were quiet and polite, but this version of Robin only lasted a few weeks before Robinâs true colors began to show when kids bullied them for how they acted. Robin didnât understand that they couldnât make everyone happy at the same time, which only frustrated them further. Constant tantrums lead to Robinâs expulsion from school. Robinâs parents were ready however. They had been planning on pulling them out of public school for a while  They still had their outbursts and tantrums, but through continued family therapy and home-schooling, Robin calmed down quite a bit. It was a success story and Robinâs parents were happy again. At least, for a while they were.
By the time Robin had successfully graduated junior high in the comfort of their own home, their parents were convinced that they were âfixedâ and that they no longer needed family therapy or home-schooling. They decided to enroll their child back into public school, and hoped that the skills theyâd learned in family therapy would help keep their temper under wraps and for the most part it did. The problem was that Robin wasnât the most widely accepted student in school simply because they didnât want to be referred to as male or female. They were non-binary and wanted to be accepted that way. That, piled on top of the fact that theyâd been home schooled for most of their schooling career made them an easy target. They could make fun of them, and rough them up a bit, and no one would care. They didnât have friends or anyone else to protect or defend them.
This behavior towards Robin was what brought out the attitudes from childhood. They couldnât take being pushed around any longer and finally fought back with a swift punch to the guyâs nose. Unfortunately for Robin, they didnât know how to punch properly and ended up in the hospital with the bully with two broken knuckles, while Robinâs bullyâs nose was busted. Somehow after that debacle, Robin got off with a two week suspension. They didnât mind their punishment since it was better than being expelled, and when Robin came back to school, they were treated as more of an outcast than ever. Everyone refused to even look at them which Robin was okay with. The way they saw it was that at least they werenât being bullied anymore. However, there was one group that saw Robin differently. They werenât the best crowd, but they accepted Robin. All of the students in this group of friends had good grades and perfect attendance, they just had a tendency to party a little harder than everyone else, drink a little more, smoke weed a little bit more, take LSD a little bit more. They adopted Robin into their group and integrated them into the group. Theyâd take Robin to parties and convince them to drink one more, then two more, then soon they were pressuring Robin to do more hardcore drugs and because Robin finally felt accepted for once in their life they didnât care and they gave into the pressure and by the end of year 12 Robin was hooked on that life style. They used more frequently and got more careless about when they used. Ultimately, this was what caused their parents to find out and start a screaming match that resulted in Robin running away and living on the streets for 2 weeks when they finally got over the argument and went back home.
Robinâs parents werenât so easy to please and made Robin promise to go to rehab if they wanted to move back in. it wasnât a promise Robin wanted to make, but it was a promise they had to make to survive. It was either that or run the risk of dying from withdrawal and while they may not have had the easiest life, they knew they didnât want to die that way. Robin knew how excruciatingly painful that would be and couldnât imagine themselves going through that. So, a few days later, Robin got on a bus to a rehab facility outside of town and they didnât return for a year.
The year that Robin had spent in rehab was hell and they hated every second of it. They would have left, but they knew they needed to get better. They wanted to return home a new person, someone their parents could be proud of. So they stayed. They did the stupid exercises and did anything the instructors told them to, that wasnât without a few arguments here and there, however. The year was long and dragging and there were a few times where Robin thought about giving up, but the thought of seeing their parents be proud of them for once was what pushed them to continue and as their year winded to a close, things got easier and Robin was happy. They felt pride and joy for once in their life and they were excited to go home and show their parents their new child.
When they arrived home, something completely different happened. Their parents seemed distant and they werenât nearly as proud of their child as they expected. Disappointment was the best word to describe what Robin felt at their parentâs reaction. The truth was that although they were changed now, their relationship with their parents would always be distant at best and their parents sealed that fate when after 2 months of being home, their parents confessed that they were adopted and that they were actually born in Liverpool. Robin was destroyed by this news and fell back into the deep depressive state that theyâd been living in most of their life. They packed their things and bought the cheapest apartment in Lafayette Boulevard and moved in the first chance they had. Robin turned to alcohol for support which sent them spiraling back down the mountain they had taken so long to climb.
Triggers in biography: Drug and alcohol abuse
Robin has a very intense personality, feeling very strongly about everything. Whether that be intense anger or intense joy varies on the topic and the current situation their life is in. Theyâve been working hard to get clean but thus far tripping at every step and ending up back where he started, resulting in them spending most of their time drinking or smoking pot. They work hard to be as kind to everyone as they can be, but sometimes they falter and explode on people, although typically their explosions are self-destructive above all else.
