This is messy. What are we doing? Or not we (the sane ones) but the fandom I talk about in my post below! This is disgraceful. I’m at a loss for words.

I want to address the elephant in the room, and that is the fandom (not using the word  Army for a reason)

The fandom is to blame for what happened to Jimin.

The betrayal he must feel about what has happened, you can see how guarded he is in his live after the show, choosing his words carefully, using formal speech both there and in his weverse post. He knows why this happened, he knows how said person was egged on and baited to do what they did. He knows the root cause. Imagine how that must make him feel.

The fandom he loves so dearly, for whom he has given his blood sweat and tears to.

It's heart-breaking.

I know we all likely know this, that the root cause is taekookers. That the breed of shippers is so vile, so deeply disturbed, they hate Jimin with every fibre of their being. JJKs (especially KJJKs) are also to blame, they are still trying to spread rumours about Jimin now.

The problem is, the fandom at large lets it go. They do not challenge it. Big 0T7 accounts let them do whatever they want and roam free. When there is a hate train, its just left to go on. BTS Reports on X doesn’t move for him, and that is fact.

Please report the account above they are threatening his life and wishing him dead, including acid attacks!

I will say in no way is this reflective of real life, in the moments we see of Army loving and celebrating the members, but in online spaces, it is toxic.

It is so toxic this was allowed to happen, encouraged almost. Everyone rightly blaming the person who did this but not addressing the reason why.

There is a reason why users on twitter still get pressed about taennie rumours but didn’t care about Jimin being linked with someone. There is a reason why users like Diya, snowflake and grumpy girl on Instagram are allowed to run wild.

For example, I follow this account on Instagram, a theorist who studies BTS and the fandom at large and its interesting for sure. Yesterday she shared a post to a reel by another so called ‘intelligent’ creator. The reel was about Yoongi and why Army should not demand to see him. Again a very good take. However, when I scrolled through her other posts, I came across one from August, that was the video of Tae and JK on the plane – this person, this so-called intelligent person, literally outing themselves as a taekooker in the middle of all these interesting discussions on the fandom. The title of the post ‘I will never recover from this’, and its her gagging over that silly funny video. Now do not get me wrong, there are posts of Jimin, she also swooned over the vmin video of them swimming in the ocean, but she is JK biased, and even when Jimin and JK were released from the military, she only mentions JK. That he is home.

I was already thinking of this post before I saw this, but it solidified everything I currently think of the fandom.

One of the other things this account did was go into detail about how confident Tae is now after military discharge, and it is a good take, and he does appear so. But so was Jimin, he was so happy, so carefree, so giddy, and now look.

Why is it that to many fans on the internet, other members happen to matter more than Jimin? You could scream conspiracy theory till the cows come home, but the facts are staring us in the face.

I have no answer to this, other than to put my thoughts down onto ‘paper’. I will always report those who hate on any of the members, as we all should. It feels like the only thing we can do.

This brings me to what Jimin said about being an adult in his live, and that it isn’t easy, and it isn’t…..

I don’t think many people are taught that, unless you see your family suffering somehow in childhood, unless you are empathetic and aware of the plight of others. Life is messy, it is sad, and grief stricken, stressful and beautiful all at once. For Jimin, he is also living his life both as a person, and an idol under the intense spotlight, and visceral hate.

What happened the other week was not his fault, and he should not feel any sense of guilt for being a human being. Whatever it was, it is something he never wanted us to know, and I will respect that. The root cause of what happened is so deeply disturbing (and again for the life of me I cannot understand why the fandom do not address it). But it happened to him, about him, when he did absolutely nothing at all. All because of ship wars. He was happy living life with the members, working out in Los Angeles posting some cute pictures, swimming in the ocean, watching the moon at fancy restaurants, and out of nowhere, some evil people decided to try and tear him down.

These past few weeks we as his fans have inevitably been worried about him, hoping he is doing alright, that he is being supported. I think we were all hoping he would turn out for PFW for the Dior show, and when that notification of his departure hit timelines this time last week, the excitement was palpable. I was thinking what a good way to come back to himself, to show the world who he is. The timing has been perfect. Not much is asked of him at a show like that, he simply had to turn out for the show and boy did he do that. 

Jimin is, to me, the embodiment of grace and beauty. He reminds me so much of Audrey Hepburn in the way that he carries himself. To walk into the airport Tuesday with his head held high, looking like a divine being, I was so proud of him. The K media to be fair is obsessed with him, in a good way, calling him an angel and sexy all at once. Same as when he landed, they had nothing but praise for him, and along with the fans showing up for him, I hope he felt that adoration and love. As for the show, I still do not have the words still to describe how mesmerising he was. His aura, his walk, his confidence. He felt sexy, you can see it, he was in his power. As he should be.

Not only has he had to endure military service, where he was fierce and did his absolute best, but then the drama of recent weeks. To see him from a fan perspective take it all in his stride as best he can in front of us all, again with his head held high with such class, was breathtaking.

He is beautiful, inside and out, he has the sort of beauty you cannot pay for, because it comes from within.

I will be forever in awe of this young man, his strength and resilience. He is turning just 30 years old in a little under a weeks’ time, and he is blooming, and he is going to show the world.

Maybe instead of expecting big accs to bring it up, people should actually start sharing reporting links, and Google Docs complied of proof that can be submitted to BH

I think though you’ve inadvertently proved a point I made. Fans seem to matter more than the members themselves. People on in the internet, faceless, nameless people on Twitter and the like, being defended or defending each other before the people they claim to be fans of. Those fans are absolutely to blame and I’m sorry if people don’t see it, it’s like a catch 22 I guess. I never used the word Army either for a reason. Fans can be anyone, solos, ot6, ot2, have biases, shippers, they can be whatever they like, because it’s the internet, a microcosm. They are part of the fandom whether we like it or not, a solo still contributes to the online discourse and can still attend a concert. Calling it out should not be an issue.

There are taekookers everywhere is the point, and they are so vile, but again, if people can’t see it? If big accounts moved, Diya would be gone already but she’s still around still spreading hate. Thats just one username. Ot7 often follow her or retweet her edits (see below). There is no excuse for this. Another example that death threat the other day that I linked, most big ot7 account did not tweet about it, nor did BTS Protects, I think I said that. They last posted for Jungkook when people were saying his family members names and rightly so, but nothing for the death threats from a KJJK to Jimin. Same for when there was a hate train on Jimin’s father around last Christmas. Maybe that does sound borderline solo from a fan perspective but it’s facts. And yes, Jimin report accounts do talk to ot7 accounts to tell them, but they do not move for him. They get tagged, quoted or comments are made, that’s how Twitter works? All any Army has to do is follow a report pages of each member. It’s quite simple, and no one should need hand holding. Again, I’m not out here defending other ot7 accounts above the members when it’s so clear to me what’s happening. The fact that SO many people do ‘leave’ the fandom and become PJMs is extremely telling of exactly what’s happening. That’s their choice and free will of course. I don’t think that’s invalid, I’m not going to stop them.

This has nothing to do with the members themselves at all, nor anyone being queer, or not, as you know I am myself, but okay. This is about being a human and recognising an issue, being empathetic! Taekookers infiltrate every single platform, they are under every post or video made about Jimin filled with hate comments and no one stops them. Same on Weverse currently, just go look at Jimin’s letters. Go on. It’s all there if people just look. You said about Weverse live being a safe space for Jimin to speak but does anyone read the comments while he does? If he goes live on his birthday y’all better be ready to report taekookers in there because they were rampant last week, and it’s even more difficult now with the auto translate function. Anyone remember the live where he saw a hate comment and went silent? Think about how he feels maybe?

Re streaming, it’s not my forte, I listen daily to my playlists and that matters to me. I feel though from a layman’s perspective that if the fandom were equal then streaming numbers would be reflective of this? Honestly don’t think that’s the case though since it’s Jikook consistently riding high above other solo efforts? Or maybe solos are the reason for this? I’m sure when they come back though Army itself will reunite and it will be glorious as it should be, but right now?

Personally all I care about is the members and the music, maybe right now Jimin more so because of what he’s been through, and it’s his birthday, so sue me. I will say that the Army I’ve met in real life are incredible, so passionate and friendly, that’s reality in the real world, that’s what the members hopefully see and will see when they tour next year. But online, that’s not the case, it’s like the Wild West, and it’s fractured. It’s sad actually, which was the whole reason I made the post in the first place because it is heartbreaking. Even Namjoon spoke about the hate they see, so I don’t think my point is invalid at all if the leader says he sees hate posts and isn’t immune to it. Having open communication and discussions, of which there are many daily on Twitter about this issue and the hypocrisy may help, I can but hope. Tumblr as much as this is a valuable space doesn’t have the same impact unfortunately especially when people become extremely defensive over strangers online more than the members themselves.

Ignorance by certain blind people in the fandom is causing this. There are taekookers everywhere is the point, and they are so vile, but again, if people can’t see it? If big accounts moved, Diya would be gone already but she’s still around still spreading hate. Thats just one username. Ot7 often follow her or retweet her edits (see below). There is no excuse for this. Another example that death threat the other day that I linked, most big ot7 account did not tweet about it, nor did BTS Protects, I think I said that. They last posted for Jungkook when people were saying his family members names and rightly so, but nothing for the death threats from a KJJK to Jimin. Same for when there was a hate train on Jimin’s father around last Christmas. Maybe that does sound borderline solo from a fan perspective but it’s facts. And yes, Jimin report accounts do talk to ot7 accounts to tell them, but they do not move for him. They get tagged, quoted or comments are made, that’s how Twitter works? All any Army has to do is follow a report pages of each member. It’s quite simple, and no one should need hand holding. Again, I’m not out here defending other ot7 accounts above the members when it’s so clear to me what’s happening. The fact that SO many people do ‘leave’ the fandom and become PJMs is extremely telling of exactly what’s happening. That’s their choice and free will of course. I don’t think that’s invalid, I’m not going to stop them.

This has nothing to do with the members themselves at all, nor anyone being queer, or not, as you know I am myself, but okay. This is about being a human and recognising an issue, being empathetic! None of the members deserve hate, but the fandom is divided and it is a problem. Yes D pulled the trigger but its fans or shippers who gave her the push. The motive. They are still out there now encouraging her and paying her, making AI edits and spreading lies about Jimin. I don’t see why it matters that it was solos who pointed this out, or that Jikook reports highlights the reality. Taekookers infiltrate every single platform, they are under every post or video made about Jimin filled with hate comments and no one stops them. Same on Weverse currently, just go look at Jimin’s letters. Go on. It’s all there if people just look. You said about Weverse live being a safe space for Jimin to speak but does anyone read the comments while he does? If he goes live on his birthday y’all better be ready to report taekookers in there because they were rampant last week, and it’s even more difficult now with the auto translate function. Anyone remember the live where he saw a hate comment and went silent? Think about how he feels maybe?

Re streaming, it’s not my forte, I listen daily to my playlists and that matters to me. I feel though from a layman’s perspective that if the fandom were equal then streaming numbers would be reflective of this? Honestly don’t think that’s the case though since it’s Jikook consistently riding high above other solo efforts? Or maybe solos are the reason for this? I’m sure when they come back though Army itself will reunite and it will be glorious as it should be, but right now?

Personally all I care about is the members and the music, maybe right now Jimin more so because of what he’s been through, and it’s his birthday, so sue me. I’m not here for fans in Twitter or TikTok. I will say that the Army I’ve met in real life are incredible, so passionate and friendly, that’s reality in the real world, that’s what the members hopefully see and will see when they tour next year. But online, that’s not the case, it’s like the Wild West, and it’s fractured. It’s sad actually, which was the whole reason I made the post in the first place because it is heartbreaking. Even Namjoon spoke about the hate they see, so I don’t think my point is invalid at all if the leader says he sees hate posts and isn’t immune to it. Having open communication and discussions, of which there are many daily on Twitter about this issue and the hypocrisy may help, I can but hope. Tumblr as much as this is a valuable space doesn’t have the same impact unfortunately especially when people become extremely defensive over strangers online more than the members themselves.

Troye dedicated the song to fans (it might be for someone else in his life as well but he acknowledged it as for fans so we'll go with that) so we can say it's a song from one friend to another? We all have seen how much comfort jm had brought in jk's life and how so many times he's chosen jm as the hyung who gives him comfort the most. The lyrics literally say that "I'll be there for you but gotta be there for me too". You know the context as when they went to japan they both were having hard times and I'm assuming the whole BTS as well with what they said in their 2018 stag. He dedicated the whole video to jimin telling him that he'll be there for jm but even jm gotta be there for him as well which means be there to support and comfort when they both need it.

Idk about the kind of friendships y'all have or experienced but there's crazy friendships out there, just 2 days ago my friend was showing me two besties from her collge time (not her besties but two girls who were besties with each other) and she showed him how one of the two girls literally got another girl a present for her birthday and the present was literally a painting of that girl from her own freakin blood like can you imagine? She didn't draw the painting but had to be drawn by someone else and literally donated her blood for that. I mean sounds kinda disturbing but that's how their friendship was, is what my friend was telling me.

Not to be that person but y'all really have different kind of friendships than the rest of the world, y'all haven't seen what type of friendships out there y'all just talk out of ur experience and say everything is "Something" if it's not smtg you haven't seen around you doens't mean the world have only the kinds that's around you. If we share our friendship experiences y'all call us weird because that's not the kind of friendships y'all have seen.

I won't even talk about my own long time friendship because y'all will start calling it weird when it's nothing out of the blue or never heard of the kind of thing around our circumstances. We're not as physically affectionate as most friends are but the things we do for each other really would have been called married behaviour or something because knowing some things about your friends who you have been together with for a decade is called married behaviour in shipper and in general k-pop spaces. It's just y'all exaggerating most of the things. Jk knows Jm's eating habits? "omgg of course he knows it that's married behaviour" i mean like i would know the eating preference of someone i have been hanging out with for a month and these are the men who have lived together even and are friends of decades I'd find it weird if they didn't know. Jm used to bring Jins fav food for him when he visited him in the military etc.

The enlistment even, like yes it shows how close they are that they chose to go together than individually but that would literally be me with any of my friends forget about besties even because I'd rather go with my friend than go alone at such a place. Like why would ANYONE wanna go alone WHEN you have an option of going with ur decade old bestie? Y'all see most of things through shipping lenses and wonder about the smallest of things and when ppl don't agree y'all call them homophobic.

GCFT is just one of those moments, albeit a very significant one. So much happened since, and so much had happened before.

Because unlike what you said about Troye, and yes he says for him it’s about his fans, JK didn’t say that. So for Jikook it’s about the bigger picture. It’s not even the lyrics alone, it’s the energy, the vibe of the video. The way JK edited it, the colour grading, the footage…it’s all Jimin not Tokyo. Even editors outside the fandom bubble can see the subject is loved. His focus. That’s JKs Jimin. When you put that into context, of their career at the time, what was going on in the band, how it was or could be perceived, it was a risk to do what JK did. We know Jimin didn’t know what he was filming for. Jimin’s own mini film on twitter was cute as, let’s not forget. Then JK drops that bomb. It’s a beautiful thing. It’s a statement. 

Add to that their demeanour, after they returned from Japan, their recounting of their time. Also how it was portrayed in the book there after. Anon, all members were having a hard time in 2017/18, looming disbandment and all, and yet JK only took Jimin away to cheer him up. All the while fulfilling a long held wish of Jimin’s..to travel with alone with him. (Let’s all cry for AYS)

We can’t take these moments in isolation and make light of it. It’s about context. 

Going back to what you said about being able to pass off their moments as things any friends would do, that’s true for some things, not others for sure. Again, baseline best friends. But anon, if we did that the world over, judged everyone on those grounds, then there would never be any separation between a relationship and a friendship using your terms. So Mr and Mrs bloggs down the street aren’t married because Sarah and Kate down the road know each other’s favourite foods so that means friends only, should I tell them?

If Jikook are together for example, using your guide here, they are closeted and unable to do what you would require of them to ‘believe’ they are a couple, implied. They can’t kiss or have more intimate moments publicly because of their culture and job (hickey aside). So because of that you and those like you, can’t imagine them being more than friends? That’s where it becomes potentially homophobic, not saying you are, just it’s often used as a veiled attempt to dismiss any possibility they could be more, because..friends do that. I give my friends hickeys all the time.. Do you see? That’s also where comparison is a thief, because again we don’t have the same lived experience as them. The only comparison possible is those within the band, and their other known friends etc. it’s not about just knowing a favourite food, it’s a much bigger and broader picture. It can’t be simplified or isolated in that way. 

As a Jimin biased ARMY, the last few years have felt like a nightmare. From the negligence and mismanagement by the company, to the excuses and bitterness from the fandom, the euphoric dream has devolved into something so twisted and ugly.

To say I am disappointed is an understatement. I'm utterly heartbroken and disgusted to finally realize what this fandom has become. I should have seen it coming. I was warned before, but I was too blind to see what was right in front of me.

Since I became an ARMY, I have vehemently and relentlessly defended this fandom. However, even back then, I witnessed the hate towards Jimin come from not just outside the fandom but from within. Jimin biased fans were told to “Report and block. Don’t engage.” Jimin fans did just that, but the hate continued to escalate. It got louder. It spread farther. It has since reached the point where it's clear ARMY does not find any of the malicious or threatening rhetoric alarming, and the majority rather doesn’t care.

Recently as last year, ARMYs turned a blind eye to Jimin’s father becoming a target of hate. His father had to turn off the comments on the Instagram account for his café, and deleted any trace of Jimin, it had gotten so bad. Not even a few days later, ARMYs came out of the woodwork to protect and defend JK’s dog from “Jimin’s vile fans”. I could not believe what I was witnessing. In real time. The hypocrisy was deafening.

ARMY has earned the title of the most toxic fandom, and it is speed running towards self destruction. It has become so fractured and disjointed. ARMY now only cares about it’s collective ego. The AMAs drama is proof of this. The way ARMY as a whole went about it was disgusting, and I will never forget what happened.

Jimin was belittled. Jimin was decided as less deserving. ARMYs decided Jimin’s talent and art paled in comparison to RM's. ARMY teamed up with other BTS member’s solo fandoms who openly hate Jimin. Jimin once again was sidelined by his own fandom.

ARMY decided what makes a “true ARMY”.

“If you vote for RM, you are a true ARMY.

If you vote for Jimin, you are a solo.”

This message was shared across all social platforms. This idea spread across continents and was translated globally. ARMYs made it clear that Jimin and his fans are the bane of this fandom. Any ARMY that did stand up for him was vilified and labeled an anti, a solo.

So, being a Jimin fan makes me a solo?! Having Jimin as a bias makes me a BTS anti?! Thinking Jimin deserved an award that would reflect his achievements in America means I cannot be a “true ARMY”?!

Then, I must be a solo. At this point, I don’t even want to be associated with such a hypocritical and hateful fandom. I've tried to stay positive. I’ve tried to convince myself that I’m overreacting. But after what just happened with the AMAs, I can no longer tolerate the blatant resentment of Jimin and his fans from ARMY. And to make matters worse, now that it’s over, ARMYs have collective amnesia, claiming none of this ever happened.

I’m tired of biting my tongue.

I’m tired of feeling like I have no place in my own fandom.

I’m tired of being let down over and over again.

I’m over it.

I’m done.

I imagine many will unfollow my account. But, honestly, it will only prove my point.

ARMYs don’t care about Jimin. They think little of him.

Unlike the other members, he is not allowed to have his own fans.

Unlike other members, he does not deserve the awards he has.

Unlike other members, he’s not as deserving of recognition and praise.

Unlike other members, he is nothing without BTS.

I have seen all of this. I wish I was making it up.

Since chapter 2 started, everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, kept complaining about PJMs this, and PJMs that. Always calling PJMs “the worst”, the “most vile”. Never the other solo fandoms. Just PJMs. No other member of BTS has been subjected to the kind of vitriol I’ve seen against Jimin for having solo fans. No other member of BTS has been directly associated with their solos as much as Jimin has. It’s hypocritical and reeks of animosity.

I have seen this mentality even here. Right here in this community on tumblr. It sickens me.

I once did not understand how any ARMY could become a solo, but now I do. When you have to deal with constant bullshit from your own fandom, with no accountability, it’s only natural to want out.

PJMs may get a bad wrap from ARMY, but I understand why they keep growing. Continuing to be an ARMY with Jimin as your bias is impossible. Anyone that claims Jimin is their bias, but has sided with ARMY, until even now, is no Jimin fan. How any Jimin fan can witness what I have and still feel comfortable in such a toxic environment is beyond me.

ARMY has lost it’s heart. There is no more genuine love between fans. Just hate. Hate has clearly won. You are either a “true ARMY” or a Jimin fan. There’s no in between.

So, I choose Jimin.

I understand that Namjoon deserved to be nominated in SK, but wasn't. That American awards created a category to prevent BTS from winning the big awards. That ARMY doesn't stream for Namjoon the way they do for the maknae line.

But I also saw how ARMY didn't vote for Jimin and Jungkook during iHeartRadio awards a few weeks before. How ARMY always gets upset with jikookers and "all shippers" but never taekookers. How "Protect Taehyung or Jungkook" tags trend, but never "protect Jimin" and how they ignore when his family gets attacked and they downplay when his mail and private number were stolen.

And I truly, deeply believe that taekookers, Tae solos and JK solos have promulgated such a poisonous narrative against Jimin that the wider fandom swallowed it and don't even understand what they've done.

When Taennie was leaked, "bangmin" trended and the fandom did nothing to defend Jimin from the hate and instead joined in to trend it in "defense" of Tae. When JK solos got upset about Jikook enlisting together, the fandom widely did not report the tags even though both members could have been in serious danger. Jimin is the only member who has routine hate trends go viral on Twitter. The hate starts with Jimin and it always becomes a "shipper" problem or "protect vminkook," but it's never "protect Jimin".

And all of that is absolutely a fandom issue. They 100% close their eyes to the hate he gets from inside the fandom until his solos attack back and it explodes into a maknae line issue. I can say that because I've been on the front lines reporting for ALL the members. I've seen when it starts and when it gets worse.

And I wish it wasn't the case. I wish the fandom would wake up and finally do something about the disguised solo and taekooker accounts and how other fandoms can even sneak in and start shit within ours.

I saw an OT7 retweet those posts with the caption “wishing him d3ath over an award???” And it got many likes with people in the comments rightfully calling out PJMs and saying how vile they are(I’m not going to argue with that cuz RM doesn’t deserved to receive death threats over an award, or any member really! No one does!) and most importantly, reporting the accounts! What’s interesting to me, is how multiple armys talked about PJMs yet just a few weeks back, the same thing happened to JM, where taekookers were sending him DTs because he said JK was next to him and surprise surprise, no army talked about that! It was never addressed, it didn’t get a tweet and their accounts weren’t reported! Just crickets from OT7s! I remember my comment about it even being deleted!

But the funny thing is that somebody in the comment section mentioned that to the OP and an army replied “we reported those accounts in the GC” which made me think, “if you reported Jimin’s DTs in the group chat, why didn’t you do the same this time too and report in the same GC???” Why does Jimin get silence from the fandom and GC reports but other members get multiple posts with thousands of likes & links to the anti accounts for quick action??? The math is certainly not adding up🙃🤔🤔🤔

Then there were multiple tweets made calling PJMs the most toxic solo fanbase! These too got thousands of likes with people in the comments even wishing for JM to address this! Yet not a single army has ever called out THVs and JJKs or asked either of them to address their solos! These two solo fanbases constantly bash, harass and bully Jimin but somehow they always get away with it.

All the member solos are toxic but maknae line solo stans take the cake, yet it’s only pjms who are constantly addressed! Taekookers are the literal scum of the earth, but it is Jikookers that get called out every single time! What is it about Jimin that grinds this fandom’s gears??? Why do they hate him so???

The AMA voting period has traumatised me as a Jimin bias! Seeing how this fandom spoke about him until the time the voting period was done really broke my heart! Worse off, seeing them try to erase what happened by making tweets about JM & the other members or saying JM is happy for RM! Or JM voted for RM! etc… like why are you slapping a band-aid on a bullet wound???

Jimin didn’t deserve to be belittled and his accomplishments weaponised against him all in the name of voting for RM! We could have just voted for RM and not said all those nasty things about Jimin! There was no need to bully and harass the people who chose to vote for him! The manipulation that went on during that time still has my head reeling!

It made this AMA win so bittersweet cuz yes, I’m happy RM won cuz I really do wish for only good things to happen to all the members & RPWP is literally one of my favourite albums in chapter2! He deserved the award, but gosh I wish it wasn’t at the expense of JM!!! I wish the fandom never did what they did to Jimin or rather I wish I was oblivious to it all! I wish I could unsee the vitriol! I wish they didn’t disguise their hatred for Jimin as support for RM! I wish I had kept to my bubble!

I’m literally in this space where I’m genuinely worried for JM’s future endeavours & how the fandom will treat him moving forward! To me, it feels like they are punishing him for being so successful and surpassing their expectations of him! In their minds he was never meant to fly this high & now that he has, they resent him for it! Idk I could be wrong but watching how everything has been unfolding, that’s how I feel & it truly breaks my heart cuz JM is too good for all this!

(As in I genuinely love 875, all 7, no that’s not a joke, my bank account and streams can attest to this) 

Everyone on social media has the chance to be toxic. You all know that, and see that. Why? Well in my opinion it’s likely because there is something incredibly wrong with them. Likely something in their personal life or history, a conflict resolution issue, a trauma, loneliness or longing to be a part of something, grief or emotional pain, family neglect, lack of love, the list is endless. For example often people throw shade at Jimin’s family, or V’s, based on little to no fact about their family life, almost like their own projection 🧐. In a lot of ways these people are NPCs in real life, but what they lack there in the real world, they try and make up for online. Especially twitter. There is a few people on here like this for sure, who spout nonsense hateful rhetoric, and act like know it all kings, but in reality are sad lonely loveless people hidden in their bedroom of their parents basement in the backend of goodness knows where (you know who you are).

People will use their nameless and faceless accounts to post whatever is on their minds, with little thought or regard to the consequences . Thought about the content, and no thought about the fact that once it’s out there it’s there for good. Screenshot and filed away. Also no thought to the fact that whoever they are hating on is a human being, not a puppet. 

If you really think about it this happens in every fraction of everything on the internet. Some spaces are more prone to it, Twitter is the worst for it imo as TikTok usually warns you against saying certain things, as does instagram. Twitter though, is a battleground. 

I’m not sure if I stand alone on this but I became a fan to have fun. That is what I want my fandom experience to be like. I love music and want to talk about it and jump up and down in excitement when something happens in my fandom. But this often isn’t what happens if you engage in fandom spaces, unless highly curated. There are too many bad eggs who ruin it. 

Just yesterday as I’m sure many are aware now, Hobi started a live and Jin and Jimin joined it. Both were joking around, and Jimin was telling about cleaning his house and listening to Hobi’s songs. Something about a cow lick… it was cute and for a moment the timeline reflected that. Log back on later and it’s all gone to shit. Some solos (tkkrs, jjks and kths) had decided to start a hate train on other solos (pjms) by creating a fake group chat, but it is all for dragging Jimin. Fake ‘Army’ immediately called it out, which is suspicious in and of itself. And chaos reigns again. 

It’s never going to get better. We cannot take the internet back

Anyone as I said can make an account, or two, and post whatever crap they want out there. On the wilds of the internet it doesn’t matter what or who you are, you can hide. We’re all hiding technically, (but I think on here we have more discussion and intelligence. Not all, but most, there are a few really bad eggs on here too, I’d name them but I have class).

I think chapter 2 has brought out the worst in people, the preceding pandemic years bought casual stans to the fandom also, and this combination is a disaster. You’ve got people who join and their narrative is based on cult edits and rhetoric. You’ve got solos who like an artist and realise they are the member of a band with a decade long career, but hate their origins.  People who don’t care to research Bangtan Lore or look back at original content. You’ve got all of this and more and it’s a toxic combination. It’s not what Army is about. It’s not what the members want nor stand for. But the people it affects the most in online spaces is us. As fans we can chose our experience, the fact that some chose to hate is wild to me. What’s the benefit of that in the long run? Where is the joy? That’s not why Jimin makes music, for his fans (bias or solo or Army) to then take that and use it as a weapon to shade his members. No. He didn’t pour his soul into Face to have people shit all over it. 

To me and true Army, if you are a solo on the likes of twitter you are likely just an anti. Using that solo mask as an excuse to be a miserable person online, never caring that you are the cause of the hate on your supposed fave, by consistently setting up the one you claim to Stan. You likely only care about creating conflict and chaos, thriving in the attention you gain, the ego boost from people agreeing with you, the brief high and your follow count going up. 

Because here is my line in the sand, whilst you may want to call yourself a solo, and I get it I do, the one thing that really drives the hate of true Army towards solos is the hate on the members. 

Why? Because the members would not want that. That’s the truth. 

So call the fandom what you want, or individuals within it, I don’t care, but do not drag the other members. 

Now I only see posts from PJMs mostly, because Jimin is my bias, and other solo stans I follow a few of but only the ones that don’t cause trouble. The ones that hate on other members is a hard block and report for me. 

If I see any solo stan make a hate tweet that include the lines ‘not unprovoked’ I die a little inside of embarrassment. Because it just shows lack of maturity and intelligence. Tit for tat gets us where exactly? 

The worst of them is the maknae line solos. You’re out here tweeting or writing hate on them and for why? These boys (now men) have grown up together, no matter what they love each other, and no, I’m not exaggerating. So whilst a solo may get off hating on Jimin, calling him out, sending death threats to his family, name calling him, Jungkook is enlisted with him. If you get off on hating Jungkook, calling him from a pig to a dog, Jimin is out there enlisting with him. 

Cocojm (who i loathe with my entire being) out there yesterday shading JK letting its mask slip, because an article came out re a past award, setting up Jimin in the process, because then here come JJKs  tweeting that he was the first to win said award, hating on Jimin, and yet all the while Jimin and Jungkook are enlisted together. 

(Do you see how misdirected the hate is, you can make a hate tweet, drag someone, get that high you are craving, but you’re going to get that crash/low right after. Because the only person you are technically affecting is yourself, your health and your karma.) 

As a solo you don’t have to like the other members but you sure as hell should respect that your fave loves them. Imagine hating on Hobi and Jimin is all ‘I love you’ on Weverse. That’s his Hobi, his room mate and they are the of best friends. They are all family and they have told us this time and memorial. They have a friendship tattoo for a reason. Always hold that in your minds eye. 

You’ve also got to remember to the members themselves Army is their fandom. The ones who have supported them, protected them through years of trials and tribulations, and are the ones whom they love and are thankful for. The ones they say their songs are for, the ones they write to on Weverse. Etc. 

Army isn’t wholly represented on the internet. Shock horror I know. That’s not to say the hate isn’t there, that some major accounts do deserve the questioning they get when they don’t support Jimin, they truly do. But then to me they aren’t Army. If you don’t support all 7 you are not Army. Period. If you are going to use awards to hate and shade on a member, you are not Army. Period. These men did not give their literal blood sweat and tears for people to tarnish their band, their fellow members, their body of work or artistry. They did not want you to trend ‘bts disband’ daily on twitter, as was happening again yesterday. I mean the disrespect. 

Now to Jimin. I don’t know for the life of me why Jimin is so often the centre of all the hate, the belittlement and shade online. All I know is that he is. It is the most head scratching (and heartbreaking) thing I’ve ever come across in any fandom I’ve been in. This isn’t a new thing either, Jimin has been the subject of death threats and scrutiny often far beyond the others for years. The only thing I maybe think it is, goes back to what I said at the start about self worth and ego. Jimin is too much of everything, and him being him triggers people. And it’s so polarised in extremes, you either love him or hate him. It’s never middle ground. To me he triggers their insecurities, their ego and their sense of self worth. He is everything they aren’t and more so. He is both a really good decent fcking human being, a truly stunning man, and yet instead of loving him for who he is as an artist and a person, people lash out because that’s what happens when people are insecure. He is everything they will never ever be, not that money means much, but he is rich, successful, talented and beautiful, those are facts. He is, as the quote from Rent says ‘I'm more of a man than you'll ever be - and more of a woman than you'll ever get." And I think that’s what subconsciously people hate. They know deep down that their faves would chose Jimin over them. They know if he was standing next to them people would look at him not them. This man would walk into a room and everyone would look at him (we’ve seen it happen) He commands attention, he is captivating just by existing. Not only that but as i said above, he is a really good human being. A truly unheard of and lethal combination. (Maybe the only other person that comes to mind when I think of a famous person like this is Audrey Hepburn, beauty, grace and humility like our Jimin). He is once in a lifetime. 

He is so human and so ‘normal’ Linking back to yesterday you’ve got Jimin at 8 PM at night cleaning his house listening to ‘sweet dreams’ and then haters on the internet are obsessing and fighting over him. He is the main character in this story, and yes sadly this comes with good and bad sides. It’s not okay, it is not acceptable and it should be challenged by reporting it and counter acting it with positivity and love. (No i am Not joking, energy matters). 

I have no idea what the new chapter will look like, what they are planning etc. I do think though that a lot of solos or people who became solos in the past three years have no idea what BTS is like as a group, when they function as a whole. So they are likely in for a shock from what I’ve heard. I do hope people grow the fck up and enjoy whatever it is the guys have in store for us. I for one am not going to let Stan twitter ruin it for me. I’ve waited years for this moment and I will enjoy it. Miserable hateful people be dammed. 

Time will tell whether the members want to address these divides, and the hate. I guess V saying ‘7 or nothing’ didn’t work the first time. We shall see. In the meantime though report, block and mute. Do not engage in the hate if possible because that is what they want. They want validation. Report and block, but most of all, celebrate, stream, and uplift the person you say you bias or love. That’s what they work so hard for after all 

An aside - I also want to add that as much as people want to defend Jimin, I would remind people that he is a grown man of 30 years of age. He does not need fans to speak for him, to belittle his choices (career and personal) and he certainly does not need to be babied. Let the man live his own life. 

This was likely all over the place but all this to say I love Jimin, I love Bangtan and I cannot wait for what’s to come next and as above, no one is going to spoil that for me, or for the members themselves. Not on my watch.
