Considering Roadhog holds a deep resentment toward omnics because of the Omnic Crisis and everything that happened afterward, it would takeĀ a very long timeĀ for him to come around. Years of patience, consistency, and proving that you're not what he expects you to be.
At the beginning, he'd probably be openly hostile. He wouldn't go out of his way to talk to the omnic, and if he did, it'd likely be accompanied by some insult about them being "scrap metal," a "tin can," or something dismissive. He'd keep his distance whenever possible rarely acknowledging them beyond what's absolutely necessary.
Over time though, that hostility would slowly start to fade. Not because he suddenly changes his views overnight, but because he begins to associateĀ youĀ with your actions rather than his preconceived ideas about omnics. The insults become less frequent, his tone loses some of its bite, and he stops looking at you like you're just a machine.
Once that barrier is finally broken, Roadhog still wouldn't become openly affectionate or emotional. He's not exactly the type of guy. Instead his care would show in quieter ways.
He'd start making room for you beside him without saying anything. If someone else started insulting or harassing you for being an omnic, he'd be the first one telling them to shut their mouth even if he's allowed to make those jokes himself.
Trust from Roadhog is incredibly difficult to earn, but once you have it, it's surprisingly solid. He'd stop seeing you as an omnic first and start seeing you asĀ you. The years of resentment wouldn't completely disappear, and there would still be moments where his old ideas slip through, especially when he's angry or stressed, but they'd no longer define the way he treats you.
In fact, one of the biggest signs that he's truly accepted you would be how comfortable he becomes around you. Roadhog is guarded, but he'd eventually let you sit in comfortable silence with him, and exist in his space without questioning your presence.
He'd never outright say that he trusts you. He'd never give some heartfelt speech about how much you've changed his perspective, that's not who he is. But the day or immediately comes looking for you when things go wrong that's his version of saying you matter to him.
