Jeanne and her astrology sign ♓🐟🌊✨
Yesterday night, I decided to write up a character analysis of how much of a Pisces Jeanne is because 1.) I'm bored and 2.) I am in need of more Jeanne metas and Jeanne character analysis stuff. I love being knowledgeable and understanding my favorite characters (even if I tend to overanalyze them for like, the 10830853049272th time lol). It's also no secret at this point that I am a HUGE sucker for astrology stuff and the biggest believer of it. And also, I happen to share the same zodiac sign with my favorite best girl and boy do I relate to her ALOT
Without further ado, let's jump into it!
Jeanne was born on March 2nd, 1990, making her a Pisces. Pisces dates are February 18 – March 20
Pisces is the twelfth sign of the zodiac, which represents water. It is represented by two fish swimming in opposing ways, symbolizing Pisces continual consciousness divide between realities and imagination. As the last and 12th sign of the zodiac, Pisces has acquired most of the insights gained by the previous symbols, including the pleasures and sufferings, as well as the aspirations and concerns. As a result, these fish are the most intuitive, empathic, and affectionate animals in the zodiac symbols. Moreover, Pisces quickly get engulfed by feelings because of their incredible empathy, and they always try to remain anchored with tangible reality.
Furthermore, planet Neptune, the heavenly element that regulates ideas and visions, rules Pisces, and these airy fish enjoy exploring their limitless fantasies. In the more sinister guise, Neptune is also in charge of escapism and deception. Neptunian vitality is similar to sea power in that it is mystical, fascinating, and frequently frightening. In addition, when there is a heavy layer of mist on the ocean, the horizons are obscured, and there is no distinction between the sky and the sea.
Pisces individuals are emotional, intuitive, and deeply compassionate. They are natural empaths who understand unspoken feelings and connect effortlessly with others. Their imagination and creativity are unmatched, making them visionaries in both art and spirituality.

⚓︎ Now that we got that covered, moving onto the main topic: How everything ties to Jeanne being a Pisces
1.) Her empathy and sympathy: Deeply attuned to emotions and energy.
Although there isn't a lot of scenes where Jeanne has her empathetic moments, she however has a lot more sympathetic moments than empathy in the series. She feels very deeply and would often show her sadness or weeps for others
Jeanne showing her sympathy alongside with Lyserg who is crying and witnessing their own teammates, X-3, getting brutally murdered by Hao and weeps for them
Jeanne showing sympathy for both X-3 who are gone and sympathy for what she did to Team Niles, reflecting on her crimes
Despite Jeanne had some of her anti-hero moments in the series, she also has her nice moments. She can be polite, kind, gentle, caring and compassionate
Jeanne stops her daily torture routine and rises up from the deep cold ocean waters to stop Marco and the others into getting into a conflict with Yoh. She treats him nicely because he's Lyserg's friend and therefore, any X-LAWS members with friends must be treated with respect-- "A friend to one of us is a friend to us all". Jeanne greatly values friendships as she grew up all her childhood isolated away from the world and Marco was her "only" friend she had (in which, we will further explain about this later on in this post), so it's only natural of Jeanne wanting to come to Yoh's aid to help out a friend's friend.
Jeanne also likes helping other people and takes this very seriously. She will drop everything she was doing and postpone her daily tortures and goes out of her way to go help save someone she hardly even knows, all while allowing Marco to drive at maximum mph speed the best he can to get there in time
Jeanne also takes her promises she makes very seriously and would go to great lengths to fulfill a promise
"A promise is like a law"
"The just must never break the law"
Before an argument broke out between Marco and the other X-LAWS members, Jeanne makes Marco a cup of coffee and hands it to him, ending the tension between them. She then reassures both him and all of the other X-LAWS members that it's her responsibility and the X-LAWS will be reborn as a new organization
Intuition is the ability to understand or know something immediately, without needing conscious reasoning. It’s like a sudden insight, a gut feeling, or a sense that something is true, even if you can't explain exactly why.
Jeanne doesn't have a lot of moments like this but this is the only moment where we see an instant of her trusting her gut for a split second in Red Crimson
4.) Adaptability: Easily adjusts to changing environments.
As a participant entering the Shaman fight and Marco serving her as her guide, Jeanne was taught many things from learning to endure and withstand the pain for long periods of time, having a strong mind and Iron will, being taught how to kill, and most of all, learning how to get her Furyoku up by any possible means through different methods of tortures in different environments. Jeanne can very easily adapt to various torturous methods being the following (and according to canon from the SK guidebooks and databooks):
Fire torture (Being burned in the fire in the morning)
Limbs being torn apart at noon
Jeanne has even expressed an interest in Japanese torture as well (“Seiza” (sitting upright) and “Stone cushions” (shinshin)
While Pisces possesses many admirable traits, they also face their fair share of challenges. One of the most prominent struggles for Pisces is their tendency to be overly self-sacrificing
Pisces often put the needs of others before their own, sometimes to the detriment of their own well-being and sacrifices their own happiness for the sake of others. Their compassionate nature can lead them to neglect their own desires and dreams, which may eventually result in feelings of depression or dissatisfaction
6.) Over-sensitivity: Easily affected by criticism and conflict.
One of the biggest traits (and deemed as a major con by most people) that a Piscean has is being overly sensitive and this is very evident within Jeanne's character. Jeanne was raised by overly strict religious people (Marco) and grew up in a cult throughout her entire childhood. Marco brainwashed, manipulated and groomed her into turning her into the perfect ultimate weapon and saint for the upcoming Shaman Fight and he succeeded in doing so. Not only did he succeeded but he alongside with all of the X-LAWS members would constantly overpraise her, sees her as their ultimate savior and treat her overly nicely 24/7, never scolding her for the wrongs she has done/calls her out for her wrongdoings or acknowledge her flaws. Jeanne never once gets treated like a normal human being let alone a little girl. Because of the way she was raised in her childhood and the adults that were present in her life, Jeanne grew up to be sheltered. It also doesn't help the fact she doesn't have any friends near her age either since Marco completely shut her away from the outside world of normalcy and convinced her that he's the one and only friend she has. While he's the "only" friend and she appreciates Marco being there for her, Jeanne still deep down is a very lonely person. She has no genuine connections with anyone neither she was never close to the other X-LAWS members to begin with as she wishes to hold genuine conversations with them but they choose to never talk to her, simply because she's on a much more higher class than they are and they dehumanize her, which deeply saddens her. She longs for normalcy, connection, meaningful fun conversations and most of all-- friends.
So when someone near her age finally appears for the first time in her life (and it's not someone from the X-LAWS but rather a outsider), Jeanne stops her daily torture routine and rises up from the deep cold ocean waters to stop Marco and the others into getting into a conflict with Yoh. She quickly takes this as an opportunity to befriend him since after all, he was a friend of Lyserg and any X-LAWS members that has friends are also their friends. She gives it a shot and treats Yoh kindly the best she can, offering to invite him into the X-LAWS and hopes he would join because after all, who can ever say no and reject THE Maiden-sama who was revered as a kind and flawless holy saint and a savior to all people? Surely Yoh would never say no because he's not evil and is so calm and composed, which definitely should mean he's a very kind person and such a kind person would never reject Jeanne, who herself was also a kind person that treated him so nicely. Surely he won't reject her friendship offer either, right?
Nope. He just flats out rejects and criticizes her, saying that he doesn't like the way on how she and the X-LAWS operated. On top of it all, he rejected her in front of everybody (X-LAWS) and Jeanne feels humiliated after all that kindness she had just given to him moments ago as well as her having high expectations for him. As face of the X-LAWS, Jeanne tries to maintain her image by trying to remain calm and composed, processing what just happened for a few seconds and when she tries to respond to his rejection, she forces herself to smile through the pain, trying to reassure herself that this is fine, everything is fine but however, this does not work either as tears suddenly forms on her face and she ends up crying
Not only she is deeply saddened by his rejection but she is also sad knowing the very fact that she may face him off in battle one day in Shaman Fight. Which is a shame to her because she initially thought Yoh was a great fellow because after all, he was Lyserg's friend
Ever since Yoh rejected her, his words and criticism affected Jeanne in a way. How can someone reject her and her people? Why would anyone not like the way she and the X-LAWS do things? After all, she was just trying to do the right thing and follow what Marco has taught her all those years ago growing up under his care. And so, not a single doubt ever crossed her mind nor did she ever questioned herself if she was truly doing the right thing or not but instead, Jeanne chooses to keep on believing that everything she is doing is justified. Eventually later on, Jeanne ends up lowering her opinion on Yoh immediately as soon as she finds out that he was Hao's brother all this time. From her point of view, Yoh's rejection to her that night = he was siding with "evil" this entire time aka being that he was Hao's brother. Her treatment of disdain towards Yoh is evidently shown later when they meet up again to revive Ren
(She sure does really dislikes him, huh)
And speaking of Ren, here is another instance of Jeanne being overly sensitive (and being a huge crybaby which is a big Piscean trait) where once again, someone makes her cry but this time, it wasn't spoken in a calm way but rather in a much more harsher and very direct angry tone at her. Similarly like Yoh, all of this happens while everyone and the X-LAWS are watching their very leader getting yelled at by Tao Ren. Not only she was humiliated once before but she was humiliated yet again and tries to force herself into smiling through Ren's brutal words and actions but ultimately fails as she bursts into tears while still trying to maintain her X-LAWS leader's image in front of everyone by smiling through it all
Something I've also noticed between Yoh's treatment VS Ren's treatment towards Jeanne is that:
For Yoh's: He casually rejects her in the normal tone of his voice. Jeanne still smiles through the pain of rejection while crying and still manages to talk just fine, telling Marco to leave him alone
For Ren: He straights up yells at her. Similar to Yoh, Jeanne smiles through the pain while crying but doesn't say anything at all and just stands still in one place, shaking in silence
However while this was indeed a very brutal moment for Jeanne having to receive such a treatment from Ren and many people deem that being sensitive is a bad trait to have, there can also be benefits of being sensitive as well since Ren did in fact, left a huge impression on Jeanne as he was the first person to have ever treated her with such honesty even if it was brutal but also, this is one of the very few first times in her life where she gets treated normally as a human being for once and not being treated like the usual perfect flawless saint everyone constantly keeps making her out to be. Unlike Yoh, Ren was a different case. Jeanne does not end up harboring negative feelings towards Ren but rather, harbors positive feelings for him instead as she had no problems reviving him the 2nd time in the plants arc
As for benefits of being sensitive:
Sensitive people can be very empathetic. You can have very deep compassion and understanding for the struggles that other people face. As long as you don’t absorb other people’s problems or think you’re responsible for fixing them, being a sensitive breed can contribute to being a really caring person.
Sensitive people can be very perceptive. Sensitive people tend to pick up on things that others might miss. Being aware, observant, and insightful can be very positive qualities. There are a lot of situations, tasks, and jobs that require great perception and insight. This can make the gift of sensitivity an excellent asset to many different career paths and life circumstances.
Sensitive people can deeply embrace new concepts. While sensitive people tend to absorb a lot and often work on letting go of challenging experiences, hurt feelings, and unhelpful thoughts, they can also use this quality towards positive or productive input. Given a handful of healthy tools or new concepts, a highly sensitive person can use their gift of sensitivity to embrace and absorb information and reap many benefits.
Sensitive people tend to be very aware of their surroundings. A high level of sensitivity can give you a highly attuned sense of your immediate environment. Sensitive people are often accused of missing nothing, which is not necessarily a negative quality. They are often the first to spot a dolphin in the ocean, a deer in the woods, or danger on the horizon. Sensitive people can be quite helpful and handy on a beach walk, a forest hike, or a natural disaster.
This is yet, the 3rd time someone that did not think highly of the X-LAWS. The 1st time was Team Niles, Khafre and Nakht has called Jeanne out for being a murderer and Jeanne does not acknowledge her wrongdoings and instead, thinks that whatever she was doing at the time was justified and was doing it in the name of justice.
The 2nd time, she tries and attempts to befriend Yoh, a boy that was close to her in age and had high expectations for his approval but he ends up rejecting her as he says he does not like the way she and the X-LAWS do things. This once again, does not completely open her eyes and Jeanne still believes her ways are completely justified and she ends up viewing Yoh as the "villain" for not only rejecting her kindness and offer but due to the fact about her finding out he was related to Hao, which causes her to think his rejection towards her definitely means he is just as evil as Hao. Little did Jeanne know, the words Yoh had said to her was just the beginning of him planting the seeds of doubt in her but it was a small sprouting stage.
The 3rd time was Ren scolding at her and angrily yells saying he did not needed her help and that her helping him was a nuisance. And this time, Jeanne does not say anything back to him but cried while smiling in silence. It was Ren that ultimately caused the seeds of doubt to start growing within her and while we don't ever see her thought process aka being her POV, in her next appearance, Yoh arrives at the X-LAWS ship and intends on fighting them to get back into the Shaman Fight, even if it also means he must resort to using force. However, Jeanne was not shown to be present during all of this but instead, remained inside of her Iron Maiden underwater. One can argue that Jeanne is just doing her daily torture routine raising her Furyoku up but there is not doubt that Jeanne is definitely asking herself a lot of questions if everything she did up to this point was truly right. So what is true Justice? Was both of the X-LAWS and Marco were in the wrong the entire time as other people make them out to be? Did everyone lied to her all this time about her being a special godly being? And most of all: is she really truly a murderer? And to put the nail into the coffin, Luchist, the very man who has adopted her, came to the ship, disrupting the fight between Yoh vs the X-LAWS and states he was here to destroy the "failed" organization he created and kill Jeanne. Which makes perfect sense as this ties together with Jeanne being absent from the scene and she is questioning herself if the X-LAWS organization has failed her in every way. To further support this evidence, Lyserg secretly went to Jeanne and quickly informs her about the situation and likely told her word for word that Luchist was here to destroy his failed organization he created and to kill Jeanne. This confirms her suspicions and Jeanne ends up working together with Lyserg and Yoh, helping them defeat Luchist together.
With everything that has happened and the truth was finally revealed, things makes more clearer now to Jeanne: Everything she has did up until this point was never justice but outright murder. Marco has indeed, lied to her all of her childhood about her being a special and holy godly being. In the end, she was never special to begin with but she was just an innocent ordinary girl all this time that has been deceived and lied to.
And with that, Jeanne finally fully wakes up
As I said earlier about the benefits of being sensitive and how it also be a good thing, it also helped Jeanne grew and she further matures after the major events she goes through in the Shaman fight. Her sensitivity allows her to learn to become more perceptive and self aware of herself and how people views both her and X-LAWS. She also embraces a new concept halfway through the series which being that no one should ever kill and reforms X-LAWS into a charity organization after the Shaman Fight ended.
7.) Moodiness: Emotional states shift quickly.
Pisces are emotional and their mood swings can feel like a roller coaster ride for those around them. They react deeply to everything happening around them, which makes their emotional state constantly shift. One moment they are happy and excited, and the next, they may feel overwhelmed or sad, which best describes Jeanne's alignment of her being a Piscean
Jeanne's mood tends to change a lot throughout the entire series. One minute she's the most nicest and kind person ever and then the next minutes later, she's suddenly cold, distant and strict
Other times, she can go from being overly sad to being completely normal the next day
And then other times, in all one day, she can go from being happy to becoming sad to becoming hopeful again to becoming happy yet again to despair and becoming suicidal....
And then she's back up on her two feet again, overcoming her horrors
10.) Jeanne is often shown to be nearby water sources throughout the entire series and franchise
Water signs are extremely deep people, just like the ocean itself. The ocean is deep, vast, mysterious, beautiful and terrifying. The ocean has depths we've never been to and has hidden creatures we've never discovered. It's the same with water signs — they can always surprise us with something we thought we'd never find.
The commonality between water signs is emotion. They are the prime empaths of the world. Water signs feel everything and most of the time take that emotion in and transform it into some form of art. Like a flowing current, the emotions are constantly moving within water signs.
Pisces is known for their deep sensitivity and spiritual connection to their own feelings, and the feelings of others. As large as the ocean, Pisces heart is capable of expressing infinite compassion and love toward all beings.
