“We just got Katie to sleep. we’ve got the whole place to ourselves... I think your priorities are a little outta whack?” 

“Okay.. what do you wanna do?”

“Well...”

Ty took Amy’s hand and slowly lead her up to the attic, being careful to stay away from the creaking steps in order to avoid waking Katie up and destroying this rare opportunity of time alone they had together. Amy followed behind cautiously, being sure to retrace Ty’s steps to the millimetre. It was a miracle that they has successfully got the stubborn toddler to bed and Amy was determined for it to stay that way. Ever since Lou and Peter had left on their last minute trip to Fort McMurray the previous day, the young couple had been battling to get Katie to bed for Lou’s allotted nap times. If it were up to Amy she’d happily let the little girl wear herself out until she pleaded to go to bed. But unfortunately she was under strict instruction and daren’t go against her sisters word. 

The door finally clicked shut and Amy turned to face Ty, a smile tugging at her mouth. She wrapped her arms around Ty’s neck, bridging the gap between them, as he placed tender and seductive pecks along her jawline and round onto her lips. In order to avoid disrupting their embrace, Ty starting shuffling backwards towards the bed in the centre of the room, being careful not to stand on any of the mess that was sprawled across the floor. The tricky manoeuvre proved unsuccessful as the loved-up couple landed in a messy heap on the floor.

“What the hell happened?!” Amy exclaimed whilst Ty aimlessly tried to regain his composure. Ty shrugged through his fit of giggles and Amy couldn’t help but join in. His laugh and his smile were infectious, almost as infectious as those famous emerald green eyes. The couple rolled on the floor basking in the hilarity of the situation.

“We suck at this romantic stuff,” Ty admitted while rolling onto his back and gazing at the wooden paneling hanging above them. Amy nodded in agreement while turning onto her back and taking her place on the floor next to Ty. 

That was when her eyes were caught by the candles that were carefully scattered around the room. Two wine glasses and a large jug of orange juice were sat on the bedside table as well as a bowl brimming with popcorn and a collection of Amy's favourite movies. 

"Me maybe, but you Ty Borden are about as romantic as they get. Look at all this... it's beautiful," Amy remarked tilting her head up to admire her man. They had hardly spent two minutes together in the last couple of weeks because of Ty's crazy work schedule and university classes along with the whole truck load of client horses that had been brought for Amy to tend to. 

"I just thought that the two of us could use a few hours off and besides I have not seen nearly enough of my wonderful fiance recently." Ty said smugly, grabbing at Amy's sides to pull her up onto the bed next to him. Amy lay down next to Ty and hit the play button on the remote.
