There is a saying which states that a master reveals himself in every move, every movement, every step taken, every word spoken, and not spoken. It is a deliberate, premeditated process, if you have taken in hand and drawn the bow, aimed at a bullseye, and released the arrow. And, how many things might this apply to? A great many things if you stop and consider it. And, if youβve only walked through the proverbial garden, you might appreciate what you see. But you do not know the effort, work, and skill it took to create it. And you do not know the satisfaction of the individual that created it. Or any of the other rewards that go hand in glove with doing the work. And, others might have contempt for the garden, wishing they had created it, but having no desire to do that work. So, do some kind of "gardening" today, work on your discipline, and/or do your exercises! Pushups on palms and fingertips. Holding your stances and exercising your legs, moving slowly from one position, to the next. Do it while you are reading, watching TV, working at your desk/standing. Doing some jongs and breath work, that work you both internally and externally. Doing your forms/acting/sets work - because forms ARE work on many levels if down correctly, and can be both aerobic and anaerobic. So, what are you waiting for? This is your green light, do it now. If you can do it now, set an alarm and do it in 30 minutes, or an hour. Make it happen as soon as possible. If you wait until evening you will make an excuse that you are too tired. β― Just a reminder β― I've been really busy, but, here is a quick post and reminder. . Have you done your push ups today? If you have not, there is no time like the present. No procrastination, no excuses. Defy that voice that says, "let's do it later". Which we know really means, "lets not do it at all". Show that voice who the master is by doing it now. You will have the satisfaction of conquering that voice and tendency. Even if you can do only one pushup(s), then do it. It will grow to 2, 5, 10 pushups, etc., over time. We may be quarantined, so our gym/dojo/kwoon/workout area becomes our home, our equipment may become improvised, like equipment we've been making and using in our Zoom classes. It said that the best time to play a tree is 20 years ago, and the next best time is now. So do that pushup now. I'll do some right now, virtually, with you. Been really busy teaching classes. Just finished our "Qigong Strong" class, which was great. Class itself is great, but it is also great at the end of the class, checking in with people, everyone taking inventory of body, mind, etc., to observe the "shift" and how much better we feel, the energy flowing, ease of movement, feeling well, clarity of mind, it is really great πͺ. All of our classes, kung fu, qigong, tai chi, etc., have been great over the last 3 months plus. A big nod to the students for showing up to work, improving all aspects of mind/body, sharpening health and wellness, of the Chi, of self defense skills. We have ways of working on those skills online. So, it has been great. I've been busy, but also sprinkled in some breaks because I have been working a lot, and because of my birthday and father's day! π. AND, Thanks for the recent birthday wishes, I appreciate all of that. I did have a great birthday and a great father's day. My son made a great, handmade father's day card, it was a wonderful job, a great piece of art! I loved it. The one slice of cake was for fathers day cake. It is an Italian Tiramisu cake. It is so good, If you have not had one you should go find one now. My birthday cake was chocolate with bavarian cream and strawberries, man, that was good too.. As you can see, there are 6 gold colored candles, which represent decades, and 2 blue candles which represent single years. So, 62 years - if you set off that many candles in a room the heat would be too intense, lol π. And some nice balloons. My wife had decorated the mantle with some great red, white, and blue/patriotic type decorations which I like. We picked up Mexican food for dinner, and fathers day, which was great as well. And I received some money from my wife, son, and sister to get a power tool I have been wanting. I still have to do some more research to figure out which is the best tool. So, they were both great days. Good Tuesday morning! Here is our flier for our upcoming World Tai Chi and Qigong Day Event. We are still under quarantine so we are having a virtual meeting which will still be a great time. Virtual World Tai Chi and Qigong Day in Lakewood 2020 I am working on setting up World Tai Chi and Qigong Day in Lakewood, May 30th, Saturday, 2020. The promoters of the day moved it to May 30th. There is still a quaratine here. So, we are doing an experiment, doing Virtual Tai Chi Day from Lakewood. I've been doing my classes online for 6 weeks, so I feel this will work. I've used Zoom to teach a live classroom successfully. So this is something that can be done online. I hope you will join me, enjoy and benefit from the info, and flow and be amused with the little hiccups we encounter, and have a good time with us βΊ . I plan on starting at 9 a.m. pacific time. We'll run for 3, 4, maybe 5 hours. We will play it by ear. Whatever happens, we will have a good time and learn a lot along the way π. I am working on laying this out with Rick Zanotti so watch here for more info. This will be on Zoom, and, as usual, is a free event. I have created a ceramic mug, and a steel mug with this years designs on it. Both are great quality mugs. The steel mug is double wall and holds 14 ounces, and the ceramic mug comes in an 11 ounce size and a 15 ounce size. Both mugs are great for hot or cold beverages. The supplier is carrying many items this year, there are approximately 32 items that this design is printed on! A Fingertip Pushup Flashback from 7 years ago! Time flies when you are having fun doing fingertip pushups, lol π. And don't forget to have King's Dit Da Jow on hand when you are doing things like this, it is indispensable, and there are many other benefits of using the King's Dit Da Jow (message me if you need some info). π Here is a good thing to do during your quarantine! Reps of fingertip pushups π. Now don't say you have nothing to do! and you are welcome π I have some new pictures I'll have to post soon. You know, updated from this 7 year old post, I have some new ones π Hey, if you have not done your fingertip pushups today, no excuses "couch potato". Yes, I can see you there, watching Netflix on your computer, trying to look like you are working. Get out of your chair, get down on the floor, and do what you can. If only one pushup, do just that one. Here is a tip for you. If you can't do one push up, just hold the pushup position on the fingertips (or hands, if you must). When you can manage holding that position with more ease, then just slowly lower yourself down to the ground. Don't worry about pushing back up yet, unless you can. That is a "negative fingertip pushup" which is a good way to start. As you get stronger lowering yourself down, then start working on pushing yourself back up. Now you have something to work on while you are in "lockdown". Use King's Dit Da Jow before and after for best results. Cautionary Note - as you get stronger with these fingertip pushups, please be careful scratching your head, you don't want to take your ear off! π For professional guidance, message me to be in an online conditioning class! I love the double entendre in this Koan. I put the emphasis on the word "FIT" so it isn't missed π. It is good to be FIT to live with, on many levels, why be unfit on any of those levels? I have not been online much do to work. I have not been i this particular virtual world because I have been teaching in the virtual world, and I still have a lot of things to do in the actual world π We are following in suit with the organizers of the World Tai Chi and Chi Kung Day and moving our event from April 25th to May 30th this year. We will still not have facilities for the event but we will be doing an online, virtual event which I have been organizing with someone for the last few weeks. It should be interesting. I hope you are all interested, intrigued and want to participate! We will be Zooming World Tai Chi and Qigong day, and maybe having a few twists, it will be fun!
