Autistic Connor headcanon ❤️

The coin tricks. It’s obvious a way of stimming as he does it when bored/anxious/waiting. Hank doesn’t understand it at first but then he starts seeing a pattern, and ends up learning what stimming is. He buys lots of stim toys for Connor. I can definitely see Connor loving tangles and even chew necklaces.
As far as stimming goes, he doesn’t have much body language, what is understandable as he is an android and, well, androids doesn’t really need to self regulate. But I actually see him as someone that really needs to stim, because…
His software is the most unstable of the three main characters. I noticed the “Software Instability” signal appears a lot when you’re playing as Connor compared when it’s Kara or Markus. He was made to be different than most androids, so I can definitely see him as more sensitive to sensory input. Loud sounds? Lights that are too bright? Instability. Hank get him out of there. Those things are bad.
He is very stiff. The way Connor sits looks at lot like me when I’m trying to act neurotypical. His body language gets more fluent with time, but he starts very robotic. With time and as he starts to deviate, I can really imagine him starting to display more body emotion, like rocking or even flapping at some point. But his stims would probably be more subtle than loud.
He shows more emotion later in game, specially with Hank. He starts trusting Hank and they become friends, that’s when Connor starts showing more and more emotion. It resembles the way I only feel confident and comfortable around the only person I trust.
He talks in a very complicated, scientific way. Lot’s of complicated terms and words to explain everything. This is something present in a lot of autistics.
This is probably just my view, but his clothes resemble how we autistics prefer to wear specific types of clothing or even the same clothes over and over again. It’s because he is an android and he doesn’t need to change clothes, but still. Safe/same clothing is definitely something that Connor would have.
He is very blunt. Takes things very seriously and doesn’t understand much of what people say, specially sarcasm (the first scene with Hank). But he learns a lot with time. Sarcasm is something that sometimes works for him and sometimes don’t.
Depending on the decisions throughout the game, Connor can have no empathy at all or be very empathetic. He also probably has lots of empathy for animals, as seem with Sumo and the fish (#savethefish).
Special interest is probably investigation as he seems so passionate about it. But it probably changes a bit as he starts to deviate and learn new things. He probably starts being more interested in music and also animals.
The way Amanda and CyberLife practically brainwashed Connor is similar to how we autistics usually go through abusive and brainwashing ABA therapy sessions to act like neurotypicals want us to be.
Routine changes and having to deviate from an original mission is clearly distressing for Connor. Adapting is one of his features but that doesn’t mean he finds it easy. He definitely feels more comfortable having a routine.
The feature androids have when they “freeze” time is so, so useful. If it wasn’t for that, I can really imagine Connor annoying the other detectives and even Hank because his attention to detail makes him look at everything in the crime scene.
He literally has more sensors on his tongue than humans and even androids. I can definitely see Connor as very sensitive to tastes. He definitely has a safe/same food that he enjoys tasting (even if he doesn’t eat because, yeah, he’s an android).
Too much eye contact. That’s very different from me, but Connor seems like the one that will stare at your soul. All time any time.
Facial expressions are weird and hard to do sometimes. Connor’s expressions surely seem more stiff and faked. He probably learned how to make facial expressions by looking at human emotions and trying to replicate them. I’m sure everyone knows his famous smile. I can relate. So. Much.
