Combat doll that whirs and stretches restless trigger-fingers whenever its head is pet, that stands in the middle of the yard to soak up sunbeams that would scorch the average human to the bone in seconds, who lounges in the rafters of the mess hall to watch its inhabitants with a lazy, glowing eye, flicking razor-tipped limbs idly over their heads. Perhaps if you're lucky, the technicians gossip, it might even grace you with the honor of curling up at the foot of your bed.
One day, its handler attaches a bell to its collar. The doll tilts its head as she steps away, perks combat-grade porcelain ears at the chime.
"What's the problem, doll?"
"It's not... tacticool, Miss."
"Should I take it back, then?"
"...No, Miss."
A mostly-decommissioned combat doll who still uses her active camouflage to surprise her Witch every once in a while. Military-grade diffraction parts to reveal a gleaming steel smile in midair, before she kisses her Witch on the forehead. The Witch sighs, pulling out chalk dust.

Afternoon in Akiu. A hina-type doll and her katana-class combat doll girlfriend go diving in the pool at the Akiu Great Falls.
The hina floats.
The katana sinks, walks all the way to shore, and sloshes into the mud giddy and laughing.
A group of Kokeshi-pattern dolls dove in a few days ago and decided to stay, but everyone thinks they're just decorative buoys.
