Help
The debate in my head to continue with ff.net is becoming impossible to ignore. I literally cannot upload any documents to it anymore. The only way for me to upload chapters is to copy and paste in old documents. Does anyone have thoughts on how to fix this/ideas as to what can be done? I love my readers on ff.net, but I just...legitimately, cannot upload for them. The website won't let me.
I've been having the same problem since late last year. Its not being fixed, so uploading a new chapter is rather difficult. I found that if you press the upload button multiple times, the new chapter will upload...sometimes. its not a solution, but it's the best I've found that works, well, for me at least.
Honestly, with all the spam asking to make your fic into a comic, and the upload problems, I've just switched to AO3 permanently. While I hate that i abandoned the platform, they gave me no choice.
I'm feeling the same way. I turned off emails to avoid the spam direct messages and blocked any bots that have commented, but it's very discouraging to see a site I used to love turned into a wasteland, especially with ads every few scrolls. It was annoying but I could tolerate it until the last few updates when I ran into the same problem with uploading new documents.
I tried uploading multiple times, converting the documents to try again, and tried just using the copy & paste feature. Nothing works, so the best I can do is export old fic chapters and convert them into my new chapters, but that's silly to jump through hoops for a site that used to work pretty well for the most part.
I'll continue dealing with the irritation for a little bit to give myself time to properly abandon the site and redirect anyone interested in following along to do so on AO3. :/
*I do wanna add I made another ff.net account to test it and it uploaded new documents with no issues, so I'm still hoping the problem gets corrected, but won't be holding my breath.
It really does suck. You shouldn't have to make an entirely new account just to post on the damn website.
I really just use it as a library to read old fics at this point.
