Treasure? - Isabela & Hawke
"I donāt know why they thought putting it on the Wounded Coast. Really, that was just poor planning. Why canāt ships ever wreck at the really nice beaches? Itād make things so much more convenient."
Stepping over the final body of a bandit, Hawke ignored the odd sort of gurgling noise the corpse made as itās final breaths were taken. Stupid bandits. āāDo they ever learn that if your enemy was much stronger than you, retreat was possible?ā
Was he rambling? Yes. Did Hawke particularly care? No, not really. He felt like a small child on Satinalia, waiting for gifts to appear under their tree. He couldnāt be more thankful for a break from all that⦠champion-ing. And what a better way to spend it than to go treasure hunting down on the coast? There were plenty of beached ships eons old, but no one ever dared touch them for the fear of walking corpses beneath the deck. Isabela had taken up him up on his little proposition when no one else wanted to. And while they were both capable of handling themselves, Hawke supposed taking a few poultices along just in case hadnāt been a bad idea.
"Thatās the one." He announced after awhile. Theyād been hiking for what ā an hour or so? It took awhile to get down to the area where most ships wrecked, but when they got there it was a bit of an extravaganza for bandits⦠All untouched. The mage gave a grin as he turned back to Isabela, scarred arms crossed over his chest and a glint in golden eyes. "Well, weāve made it. Now to find the one particular ship weāre looking for ā Lucky said it was called the Kingās Cards⦠had some particularly good loot. If the name is any indication."
ā ā ;ā¾ā® Ā Ā Ladened leather boots sunk softly into sand, murky and wet with ocean tide but it bothered her not. Such was a regularĀ occurrenceĀ when traversing the Wound Coast with none other than the budding Champion who ohĀ soĀ suavelyĀ indication that he may or may not know of a presence of a wrecked ship off the coast, brimming withĀ bountiful coin. That was enough to perk her interest and her involvement all the same. Ā Ā
Ā Ā Ā She heeled the corpses of bandits over and over again, listening for the quaint jingle of personal success, satisfaction, and possibly what would garner her a meal later on in the evening. Honestly, shouldn't they have know better by now? Sputtering into the sand whilst bleeding upon rock to stain the ground beneath them had become a common sight for the she-pirate, almost enough to give cause for an eye roll. They all died the same.
Ā Ā Ā How boring. Ā
Ā Ā Ā "No, because if they did, how would we ever get our reputation up," a sly grin passed over her face, trotting over crags and cracks of fissuring beach rock to catch up to her mage companion with little effort. Graceful and as powerful as the ocean she was, sea-worthy legs and fury alike and nary an ounce of forgiveness in her marrow for those that ceased to respect her. Ā "Do you really think they sat around and said, if we have to wreck we need to pick the mostĀ inhospitableĀ beach possible? Because really, that's wonderful planning. I'd do that. Though I'd never wreck in the firstĀ place." That's a lie.
Ā Ā Ā The noise of his finding pricked in eardrums, echoing out the sweet sound of finality. Crinkling the bridge of her nose, Isabela glanced up to match the gleam of his eyes, following the gaze with a lecherous vigor. "King's Card? Now that's a name... You know, I could make a bad betting pun but I believe horrible jokes are your department," a cluck and laugh passed cinnamon lips and she sauntered past him, inspecting as her head nodded towards the broken ply wood andĀ cedar.Ā Ā
Ā Ā Ā "Perhaps we should start with the freshest crash. You can tell by the rotted wood how long it's sat. And well, treasure isn't going to find and spend itself... The one over there, atop that crag looks regal, pompous, and a bandit's dream. That should be a good start."Ā
navis;; Isabela and Fenris
¬ To steal from her? Whatā Ā
Ā Ā Ā āOh.Ā
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā The pieces of the picture were all coming together; albeit unpleasantly. Crates of objects left deliberately unmarked, a less-than-courteous looking crew, the way this womanĀ spokeāĀ heād only heard that confidence once before, and it could only mean she was a pirate. Fenris, for one thing, was in no position to explain his situation to her, nor did he want to. Why heād said that was beyond him; his impulse was going to turn out to be his worst enemy if he didnāt do anything about it.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Another moment wasted just staring blankly at the woman, and he regained his wit; though the same couldnāt be said for his dignity.Ā
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā It was, essentially, quite the taleā maybe he could lie his way out of it? If he could bluff through the entire story, or even just replace bits andĀ pieces, there was a chance he could make it seem a bit less⦠Criminalistic. Something told him thatĀ sheād know better, though, and that same instinct also left him making a mental note never to try and best her at any game involving cards.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā An unwelcome though regarding the explanation of his free passage came to mindā she could easily make a fair bit of money upon selling him back to his former master, or anyone, for that matter. It would be fateās way of laughing at him in the harshest degree. The Lyrium was worth a fortune, and Maker willing, sheād overlook that fact.
"Iāll tell you, although itās bound to take up a good chunk of your time."
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ahā there was his way out. She seemed to be an important woman, if her job led her to inspect the cargo. Obviously, one such as herself would have other duties, or so he hoped. If he could just find a way to have her let him off the hook alive, it would be enough. Fenris had not come this far only to be, ever-so-heroically,Ā slain whilst trying to escape a crate of wine.Ā
Ā āReally, itās not even all that interesting. Iām just your average stowaway.ā Ā
ā ā ;ā¾ā® Ā Ā Long ago did she slip from the market of selling bodies to other unsavory bodies, so the cast of a mortal form brought confusion behind her lids and wonder did not cease toĀ peruseĀ through her mind at who dared to let the elvenĀ male aboard this not-so-esteemed vessel. The rage that she had inspired her transgression made it a good bit harder to deal within various ports though good coin was to be made elsewhere as she soon found. And if she had to fall another place it weren't to be in their line -- freedom was innate, if the seas taught her anything and who was she to rob it of another individual? The thought sickened her to a very slimy core. Ā
Ā Ā Ā The liquidĀ brogueĀ of his timbre broke her concentration, blade slipping lax between callused digits with harmless wristĀ support. Unfolding events played before her eyes -- it could end several ways, though the two extremes both spelled their intent out in blood. Hers or his, though she's apt to avoid either prospect with vigor. Ā
Ā Ā Ā A pink tongue ran taut against her lips and the pirate broke for a pause, sunkissed shoulders rolling with a sneer upon her visage before relaxing.
Ā Ā Ā "Hardly average if those markings are any indication," with gesture of a blade she made note of the slithering tattoos of silver that line his biceps and neck. How odd. It was nothing she had ever seen before her in travels and looked beautifulĀ beneathĀ the tawny hue of his flesh. A sort of writhing magic beneath the sinew that spelled out as much agony as it did loveliness. Ā
Ā Ā Ā She scoffed, tongue clucking. What fate had brought such a creature to shiver beneath the deck of infamous ship? Perhaps a trialsome one and not a voyage to take lightly by any measure. To steal away in a ship of unknown origin was a bold move indeed and if the Maker saw fit, a deadly one. Ā She understood running away, escaping that which seemed impossible and refusing to look back no matter the threat that posed before her. Ā
"-- Well, lucky for you I'm not the type to drown people at sea. Very tacky if you ask me and cliché." Groaning, her hips shifted as she sheathed glinting weaponry.  "Do you have a name? If you're going to be aboard, you're going to make yourself useful."

replies then starters. probably start drafting a relationship page afterwards. i can think of two people who may want to be on it, otherwise let me know.Ā
ā ā ;ā¾ā® Ā "Note to self: Challenging dwarves to a drinking game while a hilarious good time with beard stroking may not end the way one wants... Ah, my skull."
āI didnāt do it."
ā ā ;ā¾ā® Ā Ā An ugly snort sprouts forth from her mouth, a near heckling hyena cackle followed by the display of the woman before her ā an unsettling view for anyone else who had never encountered Hawke, but the slew of perhaps maimed and most certainly dead mercenaries seemed nary a surprise to the pirate queen.
Ā Ā Ā āSure you didnāt. And Iām the Queen of Antiva." Fingers wave absentmindedly, tongue clucking to match theĀ rhythmĀ of her hips, trotting up the Champion in quest. "-- Do tell me their pockets are still full otherwise cleaning up this mess is completely on you."Ā
"Make me."
ā ā ;ā¾ā® Ā Ā Painted tiers pursed in light-hearted amusement, a sling of personal retribution for the passing hours she had spent listening to him grumble off and on about sea-sickness. Being difficult got him nowhere, she wants to tell him, but the snarl and glare of his face make it all more appealing to press the buttons she knows to be there. Ā
Ā Ā Ā And honestly, itās not like she actually made him pay to stay aboard. Ā
Ā Ā Ā āFine. Then you have two options. Either you can walk off the side of my ship into the ocean or," a drawl purrs in her throat, lips quirking in wry mannerism whilst amber irises glint darkly. Borderline offensive, she knows but a lacking concern for those that stole passage upon her vessel steers her away from the proper. "āYou take off your shirt. Itās really not that hard of a choice. You stay cool and I get to see how far those marks of yours really go⦠Tell me, do you glisten?"Ā
"Are you even listening to yourself, Bel?"
ā ā ;ā¾ā® Ā Ā It wasn't that she hadn't thought the idea through-- Ā No, certainly that was most definitely not the case but perhaps the urge to add certain elements towards it had spurred the female pirate in an entirely different direction. A simple snatch and grab for the night turned sour near immediately upon the involvement of the younger mageling, making it a bit more than collateral damage she had to spare.
Ā Ā Ā "-- Oh, I listen to myself more than most people, but I'm just saying that if you dress up as an Orelisan bard and I some wayfarer of mystical arts that they won't suspect a thing. Honestly, in-home entertainment that even robs you blind of both your possessions and your boredom. It's a steal."
