It has taken me since Thursday to realise Odysseus has been in love with Penelope since Interstellar.

People, we have forgotten something essential, discussing The Odyssey: it is not a historical film but a fantasy. That’s the key.

The more I think about The Odyssey, the more I understand some of its controversial choices—for example, the inclusion of trousers in a Greek context. It probably really is meant to feel “timeless,” if only because of the way victory is portrayed.

When I watch The Odyssey, I get the impression that the movie is very "Snyder-esque," if you know what I mean. It is like there were two directors... *wink wink*
