I will not go too deep on this but as I get older I feel like I can see people a lot better now especially the relationship a woman has with her mother and the kind of person she is. Like a mother or older woman in your life offering you guidance is so apparent. I hate sounding like an aunty but you have to put yourself together and hold your own as a woman in this life like you donāt have to wear makeup and expensive clothes but you do have to brush your hair, make sure you clothes fit properly, stand with your back straight and look people in the eye and know when to speak and when to be quiet. Little things like that like times when your mother would correct you and fuss over you that you used to hate as a little girl, it all makes sense when youāre a grown up.
I remember one time I went to the drug store and I was checking out and this older man came up behind me and said āI can tell you have a good motherā I laugh and and asked what he meant and he said it was because I had all my cards organized in a wallet and had my things in a purse on my shoulder. And he was right, I did learn that from my mom. Itās a small thing but like it just shows you that people (especially men!) are sizing you up.
The way you talk, the way you look, the way you dress and hold yourself up is telling people a story about who you are and how you can be treated. Even if you didnāt grow up with an involved mom, older sister or aunt that could guide you in that way you have to take it upon yourself and figure out what kind of message you want to send and act accordingly.
