Summary:
The rest of Leo’s rant was lost as he disappeared through the portal. After a few seconds, the portal blinked shut. April and Donnie were once again left in near darkness, the only light coming from their screens and some street lamps just a bit too far away to be much help. Even in the low light, April could see Donnie’s affectionate eyeroll. “Drama queen.”
April barked a laugh at that, giving Donnie a playful punch to the arm. “Oh, you are so not one to talk!”

He gets very sleepy very quick if he doesn’t have something to keep his hands busy. It isn’t easy, being such a strong guardian of the world! Plus, he’s just a sleepy guy. Once your hands are on him, he’s out. If you take your hands off of him for too long, he’ll look up and give you these sweet, sweet puppy eyes. They’re impossible to resist!
If he’s not napping in your hold, he’s probably crocheting or watching TV.
Leonardo:
To be quite honest, if you’ve somehow managed to offer before he asks you directly… you’re a god.
A bit wiggly for the first few minutes, but once you start giving him attention, he settles down a bit. He borderline craves the feeling of your hands caressing him — he loves to be held! If you take your hands off of him for more than a few seconds, he’ll lift his head up and bonk into you like a cat.
Enjoys watching TV or playing games while chilling out like this.
Donatello:
Cozy time? Cozy time.
He’s a not-so-secret cuddle bug, so this two steps away from Nirvana for him. He thinks he’s so sly with it, with his whole cold, cool-guy persona — but he’s such a softie, and it’s so obvious. If you take your hands off of him for too long, he’ll physically grab your hand and put it back on him. It always makes you laugh a bit, especially since it’s so casual to him.
Likes to play on his phone while he rests his head on your lap.
Michelangelo:
He will literally make time in a physical schedule for this, it’s adorable.
He’s the most wiggly of them all, but if you can get him invested in a good show, he’s fairly still. And once you start petting him, he settles down quite a bit. But be careful — he’s ticklish! He also gets very talkative, and likes to hear about your day. After a bit, he gets this very soft tone of voice where you know he’s 100% vulnerable with you. It’s so sweet how soft he gets. If you stop petting him he’ll either interlock his hands with yours and hold them to his chest, or give you these heartbroken little puppy eyes. He’s the master of them!
He likes to either watch TV or talk to you about your day in times like this.

It’s actually kind of overwhelming, at first. He’s always pulling you closer to him, or holding you in some way, which is a huge change from what you’re used to. It’s very 0-100.
He was touch-heavy even before you two started dating: it just increases now that you’re officially a couple.
He’s fueled by your flustered reactions. The way you jump as he places his arm around your shoulder, or the way you blush as he pulls you closer to him is heavenly. It makes his ego soar through the roof as well.
(As though it wasn’t big enough already.)
He’s elated if you’re the “clingy touch-starved” type. He’s the exact same way!! It’s like an endless loop of giving and receiving affection.
His favourite thing is cuddling. He’s coldblooded! You’re like his main heat source: why use the heat lamps in the morning if he can just cuddle with you?
If you’re the type that needs to warm-up to physical affection, that’s okay too! He’ll be a little confused at first, but he’ll hold back a little so he doesn’t overwhelm you. He’d give anything to hold you in his arms 24/7, but he wants you to enjoy the experience too. Touch is useless if both parties aren’t enjoying it.
He’s a really good boyfriend to have if you’re touch-starved! He’s the exact same way, but he isn’t afraid to initiate it. He loves to be touching you in any way, shape, or form! He’s clingy, to say the least; however, he doesn’t mind holding back a little if it makes you more comfortable! He’ll ease you in slowly, if that’s what you need. He just wants you to be happy.

You won’t lie, you get your moments of craving touch.
Nothing too major of course. Just a hug or some kind of embrace, or closeness to someone. You thank your stars that you were able to have the turtles as friends because they helped you in moments when you needed a dose of physical reassurance.
But you won’t lie, you weren’t the type of person who could just go up and ask for a hug or initiate it. Thankfully Mikey and Leo naturally liked catting around and would often seek cuddles, and such on their own. Unfortunately, they went to bed hours ago - the turtles were sleeping over at your place actually as your uncle was out of town for the weekend - and you were quietly shambling into the living room where they all crashed at.
There was one turtle missing from the pile sprawled out on the linen nest in the center of the room though, and your nose curls at the smell of the pot of coffee he’s put on.
You slink toward the kitchen and putter to a stop in the doorway.
Sure enough there’s Donatello, nursing a cup a joe with this squinted up look on his face and the hood of his purple sweatshirt drawn up. He tended to wear that expression whenever you saw him in the AM like this. Either because of some night terror or just plain insomnia.
“Hey.”
Donnie’s eyes flutter to you and he hums, tapping the side of his mug.
“Hey.” he echoes back.
You shuffle over to where he was standing by the window; the sun isn’t up yet but the sky was getting noticeably brighter. You could actually see Polaris, the north star, which was usually tough to find in the city with all the lights, planes and smog.
You lean against the windowsill, like him, and pick at your nail beds for a moment. The sound of late night drivers and Raph’s snoring filling the silence.
“Why can’t you sleep?” the turtle says against the lip of his mug. He’s to the point like normal, but his tone isn’t as sharp or biting. It’s gentle, almost, and still husky with sleep.
You shrug, “Not nightmares just…feel off.” and you did. There was this sort of remorseless loneliness that had crept up around some bend to get at you.
And you couldn’t fall asleep until you had a reprieve from the feeling.
Donnie warbles thoughtlessly at your answer and after another little moment, you scoot closer to him so you’re both shoulder to shoulder. Then you timidly rest your head on his shoulder. The fabric of his sweatshirt so soft under your cheek, and infused with the scent of caffeine and motor oil.
He tiredly mumbles something about one of his projects before habitually grinding his teeth.
You listen to his rumbly voice as he mutters some more in between sipping at his coffee and you’re quiet so you don’t disturb his thought process. Also because you were too tired to think of anything to say anyway.
At some point he leans his head on yours for a while and you feel content like this, peaceful even.
You both sit there until you can’t see Polaris anymore.

Mikey smiled happily to himself, laying on his plastron in his room. He read your words carefully, really taking it in. You really have this crime-fighting silly little ninja giggling and kicking his feet.
It just felt so good knowing you cared so much about him. Not that he didn’t know before, but it’s always nice to be reminded just how much you really, truly did. Him. Not Leo, or Donnie, or Raph. Just him.
Of course Mikey had noticed you acting a little sketchy around him, and had even asked you what was up but with the same response of nothing every time. He was a little relieved this was all it was.
The guilt slowly poured into him as he realized this was probably a violation of your privacy. His curiosity got the better of him when he saw the folder in your backpack with his name on it after you left it in his room. He totally betrayed your trust!
After some very nervous thought, he knew he needed to make it up to you somehow…right?
