Taking her hand in his own, Travis gave her hand a firm squeeze - mirroring her smile. “Please, I haven’t seen you spill a single drink yet - I think you’re having better ‘beginner’s luck’ than most usually do. But still, he managed to pull it off and after collecting himself, Travis smiled over to the bartender. "I apologize, that just took me by surprise is all. But perhaps it’s for the better that you think I don’t. Is that your secret? Are you high right now?”

“You’d come back to a burnt down club and no explanation as to what happened, that’s what you’d do without me.” She chuckled as she wiped down the bar and smiled at him, “It’s as good as it can get for a new girl I guess. I’m just not used to the place yet. Well welcome to work. The college kids were giving me all the trouble to be honest.”
“So basically, my life would be a nightmare without you - noted.” It was nice to see the new staff opened up easily and it set his mind at ease that the right people were getting hired to represent Vanity. “Please, you look like you’ve been here for ages - you fit right in. I get what you mean though, it’s a big place. I feel like once you get to interact with more of the staff - during one of our full out events you’ll feel loads more comfortable. And those kids just want free drinks. Shut ‘em down and put up a front and they shouldn’t fuck with you anymore - but if anyone is really giving you trouble let me know, I’ve got you.”

“Well thank you, angel. What would I do without someone as considerate and charming as you by my side?” He gave her a quick wink and playfully pouted at her joke, leaning against the bar. “Sounds good, hope your night gets better for you though. I’ve been good, just got in so I was just checking up on everyone. Have the college kids been giving you any trouble?”

“I guess you could consider it workplace inappropriate. I won’t tell anyone, though. Don’t worry. You painted? That sounds pretty relaxing. I have yet to see any of your work, though. You keep holding out on me. I’m being honest, though. My weekend really was just that boring. I don’t mind, though. It’s nice to have a little downtime.”
“True enough, maybe this weekend I can get you immersed in my process. But you have to promise not to turn into a psychotic serial killer because I’m going to take you home and being murdered would really put a downer on my plans for Halloween even though I’ll just be here. I suppose you’re right, but I can’t imagine how you could possibly become more chill and more relaxed - I think you’re the calmest person I know around here.”

“That sounds impossibly boring and hard to believe. What’d you actually do? Though I appreciate you keeping, at least the bar area, running smoothly, you must’ve done something interesting. Not to mention, I feel like going into too many details about my weekend would be workplace inappropriate, I mostly painted and somehow, along the way, I lost track of time and two days turned into, what, five? Or about that. Not to worry thought, my muse has left me for the time being and I should be back to hanging about more.

Walking into Vanity late that afternoon Camila pushed her sunglasses to rest over her blonde locks, the familiar scent of alcohol and smoke overtaking her senses as she dropped a folder down on the bar in the closed club . “Don’t start talking just yet, give me a minute to adapt and hope that my head stops pounding before you ask any questions.” She murmured to the figure making their way over to her, massaging a hand over her forehead, “I need to sleep for a week.”
Standing behind the bar for once, Travis looked on warily as he spotted a familiar head of blonde hair. Sighing to himself, there was a good chance that she would stop to talk to anyone else, but that hope was dashed when the folder fell before the bar manager. Pulling up a bottle of room temp water, he swapped the folder for the bottle and thumbed through the contents. “Can’t believe you don’t have a higher tolerance by now, you’re the worst drunk I’ve ever met.” He said, pitying her.

“Yeah, you’d think that but…I dunno. I gave up a full ride to Princeton and came down here. It’s a long and boring story- I’m not looking for pity or judgement.” She gave him a simple shrug; Sierra didn’t particularly like sharing her story with people she didn’t know simply because she didn’t like talking about her reasoning for doing what she did. She hated reliving it so she simply avoided it as much as possible. “I’m starting to think I’m gonna begin communicating with people via morse code but instead of actual morse, I’ll use the little flash app for my phone and use that to talk to people across the club. I think the whole hookup thing would increase, you’re a genius. You are but that doesn’t meant you can’t also be a good noodle.”
“That’s good, because I wasn’t offering either. Looks like a lot of the new faces around here are all trying to find themselves, I hope you’re happy with your choice.” Taking a drink from his glass from earlier, Travis set the now empty glass on the bar - pushing it towards the direction of the bartender on shift. “I feel like that that could only go smoothly for so long until you blind some poor drunk guy and he causes a domino affect across the club. Undoubtedly, I am. Who needs dating apps when you can slip handwritten napkin notes across the bar? You’re an odd one - one odd noodle.”
