Riptide Theme

In these following steps, I will explain how to use any of the fonts provided by Google Fonts.

First we have to import the desired font, in this case I will choose Raleway.

Head to your blog’s customization page.

Locate the Edit HTML button in the sidebar and click it.

Scroll down to row 37 and paste the code provided by Google Fonts at section 3 on the Use page for your font. I will use the following code to import Raleway:

It should look something like this:

Now let’s apply this new font family to the theme.

Next, click Preview and Save in the top of the sidebar, to go back to the Theme Options page.

Scroll All the way to the button, and click Advanced Options.

Click the Custom CSS field in the bottom and paste the following code:

html {     font-family: 'Raleway', sans-serif !important; }

Make sure to replace the highlighted code above with your own code, found in section 4 on the Use page of your font. Do not replace the other parts of the code, as this will result in the font not being correctly installed.

Step by step explanation

1. Head to your customization page at http://tumblr.com/customize/YOURBLOG.

2. Click the 'Edit HTML' button.

3. Scroll down to row 39 and paste the code found below.

It should look something like this.

4. After you have done that, scroll down to line 523 and paste the following code:

body, .flux-wrapper { background: url('{image:Background Image}') no-repeat center center !important; }

If you want to add a background image to the header as well, you should also add the following code:

.header { background: url('{image:Header Background Image}') no-repeat center center !important; }

If you are adding a pattern to the background, make sure to replace 'no-repeat' above with 'repeat'.

There we go! Now we just have to upload your images.

5. Click 'Update Preview' and 'Save' at the top, and then go back to the customization page. Now these two options should appear in the Theme Options section.

All you have to do now is to click the icons and upload your images.

Riptide supports commenting systems by Disqus on Permalink pages. There's also a Theme Option that allows you to enable Disqus for Custom pages.
