this is one of my favourite scenes in the movie and i think it delivers a lot of the message. Because Anne didnt even do anything, she looked him in the eye and went to shake his hand, and said "its nice to meet you :)" and it made him cry, because literally no one has treated him with any sort of humanity as soon as the meet him, not even Treeves, he had to earn respect from EVERYONE. He had to wait for them to see him as a human. Even the nurses, yes they taken care of him and that was an important point in the movie to address, but even if they showed any amount of kindness it was always accompanied by some sort of fear, or even annoyance, as if to say "anyone but you". No one, except like two people, have treated him like a person seconds within meeting him.
