Tragically Beautiful

Matt’s smile disappeared. “I didn’t know her very well. She talked to me sometimes, but we weren’t really friends. I just…” Matt shrugged his shoulders. “I want the killing to stop.” He straightened his back and he took a deep breath. “And after what the hunters did with Halloween I’m done with them.” Matt grinned. “Klaus even offered me a job if I’d stay away from them.”

“Knock knock, here I come.”

Ada peeked inside the Salvatore residence for a moment before she finally entered. It became apparent that no one was in fact home. She could have very easily turned around, but she was curious as to how both the Salvatore brothers lived. Sure were the expected glasses for a good drink, and the stash of said drinks.

She made her way up to the bedrooms, not sure at first which was which. A glance at some papers on a desk and she found it was in fact Stefan’s room. The good brother as most would say.

Ada absently sifted through papers, until she froze. At the bottom was apiece of beaten up patch work that looked like it had been torn from a jacket. There was no denying her family crest embedded on it; screaming out of the centuries at her like a cold welcome. Gripping it in her hands she went and plopped down on his bed.

Her good mood was wiped away as easy as that. She hadn’t seen that image in ages, and wondered how Sefan even came about it. Meaning to lay back, she bumped something and found a leather bound book. It wasn’t her business, she knew that, but sh was too damn curious. Maybe the book could tell her something.

Ada found some entries in that were nothing. Just how the day went or about Mystic Falls. Then as she went deeper and went back further, she found an entry that made her blood run cold. It detailed the killing of her family by a guilty murderer. The finding of a child that he couldn’t leave behind.

She was midway through when she heard the door creak open.

“I may as well carry on the tradition on my own.”

“If Klaus can have a kid I think we all can, even if it’s not in the way we expect. Since when have supernaturals followed the law anyway?”
