- when eddie does his hw in class, in the spare 15 minutes they have before the bell rings, he wears his glasses- and he likes to clean them on the hem of his (usually) untucked polos
- richie melts at the way eddies eyes crinkle when he holds his glasses up to the lights to check for smudges, at the way his lips will purse and sometimes a little bit of his tongue will peek out as he scans
- sometimes his glasses end up looking a little crooked, and if one of the losers notices it during a study session (primarily richie) they will slowly take them off of his face and try to adjust the arms of the frame (since they were luckily metal), afterwards wiping down the nose piece of the glasses to get off the oil (that they all know eddie hates)
- if in a literature class and they are reading a novel as a group, eddie will wear his glasses- and in between the readings and short discussions, eddie pushes his glasses to the top of his head, messing up his part (which he will always quickly fix later in the bathroom mirror before next period, anyway) but also effectively keeping the stray hairs that inevitably end up falling on his face throughout the class lectures restrained
- fuck eddie is the type of person with glasses to still keep the glasses case, with 2 cleaning cloths shoved in there, and a miniature glasses repair kit with too many extra screws almost spilling out of it. also, even though his little plastic bits are still attached to the nose piece, he likes to put the little foam bits over top of them (because he thinks they feel nicer and slip less than the plastic/rubber)
- god. eddie is also the type of kid to have a croakie on his reading glasses (the little strap)- at his mothers request. he switches out the colors on different days of the week, usually picking between a red and a bright yellow (his two favorite)
- and one more- richie likes to ask eddie to swap glasses with him a lot, even if eddie isn’t one to wear his all the time.
- when they do swap, richie is always one to goof, ‘holy shit eddie, buddy, you’re as blind as a bat!’ when richie is sure his prescription is far worse and far stronger
- switched, eddie thinks richie looks cute in his glasses, he likes the way they frame his face, the way the thin frames bring out the twinkle in his eye and the speckled melanin in his cheeks
- god, richie just wished he could see eddie in his
