This time I was inspired to paint beauty but without voluminous, shiny hair. You don’t need hair to be beautiful and I hope that this painting expresses that message. I also challenged myself to paint a darker, blue violet background. I tend to paint sky blue backgrounds so I wanted to steer away from that this time. I’m finally getting a chance to paint her face! She has super light skin tones so this is definitely a challenge for me 💕 After three days away and getting a much needed break, I was happy to come back home and get straight into painting. I can see this being done within the next couple of days. I’m relieved to have made progress with this because I’m excited to see it done. Counting down the hours until 2021!! ✨🎊🎇 These are my top nine most favorite artworks of 2020. Even though I want to forget this year, I can’t ignore the fact that 2020 helped me move in a new direction with my art. I had planned on just doing art on occasion, and if I made a sale or two then great. A bonus for me. But now I realize that this is what I want to do for the rest of my life. My latest Healing series painting is finished! I really wanted to incorporate sea turtles into this because they presented a nice challenge for me 😊 Lately I’ve been focusing a lot on water. I think that we become re-energized and let go of our concerns when we’re near a body of water. With this piece, she is apparently submerged in a crystal blue ocean and is surrounded by sea turtles. Through my Healing series I want to emphasize the importance of taking care of yourself during a time like this. The present situation is mentally draining and your surroundings may not be good for you, emotionally and spiritually. But if we’re open minded and we focus on the positives, we can get ourselves out of the darkness in our heads. Finally getting my sea turtles started! Sorry guys I was busy all day yesterday but now that I’m seeing how the turtles look with the model, I’m loving this relationship for this painting. This little guy took me over two hours to paint but I didn’t even notice the time flying by because I was enjoying bringing this animal to life. I also used my brand new @artezaofficial paints and the colors are SO vibrant! I’ve mostly completed her face which I’m really happy with; I just need to add a few more details 😊 This is the first time that I’ve painted a buzz cut on a woman and while it doesn’t look completely like the reference, it looks mostly ok.
