I don't actually bake rice twice as much

The first Xmas commission! @wrixl‘s Wrixl and @youronlyember‘s Manawind enjoying Wintersday. Look at them they’re so cute ahhhh~

Added some specular maps and metallic masks to Dazzu’s new gear. Oh also I went ahead and did her photon forge as well! It’s based on Inquest tech, like most of Dazzu’s inventions. Ella’s forge is similar, but hers is more defensive since Ella actually uses a gun while Dazzu relies solely on her forge.

Tried a more dynamic pose, I think it looks alright. This was one of 3 poses I made but I think this one looks the best imo.

Eyyy it’s a WIP Dazzu, in her “canon” outfit. Basically she’s always lifting heavy things and fixing other people’s broken stuff so she needs heavy-duty gear. She’s not exactly “holomancer” themed because the holosmith inventions were a recent thing, but I’m pretty sure she houses her photon forge in one of those ridiculous shoulder pads.

Now I know what you’re thinking. “Why is her gear mirrored?” Well, Dazzu is left-handed! Yup, that’s my explanation and not that I forgot to mirror her gear hahahahaha.

To Do: masks for metal/leather/etc., cool action pose.

I’m practicing sculpting a bit, decided to try 3D-ifying the Floran I used to play on my friend’s Starbound server. Parts of the ears and some areas around the chin/neck area could use some more work but overall I’m pretty happy with my first attempt. :D

Basil bikini bod! Sshhh I know summer is almost over but I had only just now found this in the game’s files and I had to extract it for Basil’s use. This was actually fitted to the Sylvari body already! Seriously! So is the Kasmeer bikini. I’m pretty sure these were probably going to be town clothes at one point (they previously appeared on a random Southsun NPC) but they ended up never doing it for one reason or another. I don’t know why, the textures are set up to be dyed and everything.

Anyway I had this whole thing planned out where Basil was going to be lounging on a towel with a nice cold drink but ehhh maybe next year... also no glow because she’s standing in a bright scene. I think she looks cuter without the glow anyway. ^_^

Ella was born to a noble mother and military father in Divinity’s Reach. From day one her parents could tell she was a genius. She’s mildly-tempered, wickedly intelligent, highly disciplined, as well as wildly curious and exceptionally inquisitive. Unlike other Krytans, Ella is agnostic, and doesn’t cling to the old tradition of worshiping the long-departed gods of Tyria, especially recently with Balthazar’s rampage in Elona, her ancestral homeland. She is closer in demeanor to an asura, and as such gets along very well with them.

When she was little, Ella’s father--a low-class soldier who married into the family--left and never came back, leaving Ella’s mother alone to care for her. After pushing her mother for answers, all Ella got as a response was “He’s off to a better place.” As she grew older, Ella began to suspect her father was a deadbeat who abandoned her and grew to resent him. When she began tracking him down to demand answers, she quickly learned this instead: her father had actually been deployed, and he died on the battlefield protecting Divinity’s Reach from centaurs.

When Ella became old enough, she left her home to study ways to combat the rising threat of Zhaitan. She met up with an Asura named Dazzu who was looking for engineers to develop a new type of holomancy.

While researching materials to use for their project, Ella and Dazzu discovered many new properties of existing Asura holo materials. Their discoveries ended up in a research paper, co-written by Ella. These new material properties enabled them to finally create the hard light emitter necessary to generate deadly holographic weapons. The Tyrian Holosmith was born.

Today, Ella works with Dazzu, a Sylvari genius named Basil, and many other geniuses in a mock Krewe. Their purpose is to find unique and novel ways to infuse machines and weaponry with magic. Most of their research is kept secret to avoid leaking important data to the Inquest and other unsavory organizations.

Ella bio! (I added in a new hair model, but I can switch back to the old one if I want) That last part is hinting at another partial rewrite of Basil’s bio. It’s nothing significant but it should explain Basil’s involvement with Dazzu’s Krewe. I’ll probably put that in a separate post.

Ok so you know how I said I was taking a long break? Well, I couldn’t resist. 😅 Not only did I port Basil’s new outfit but I also resized her proportions a bit (her old tits for example were wayyyy too big!) and tweaked a few defects in her model that I didn’t notice until now.

But yeah this was just a quick job, I was getting the itch to work on something and this was an easy enough that I could do it quick. I’m still technically on break.

New look for Basil! Adorable little nerd. I wanted to give her something that just hinted at “nerdy scholar of the dark arts.” Planning on porting this outfit to Blender with a whole host of improvements to her body once I start working on 3D again.

Maiko Takumi was born hundreds of years ago in a far-off exotic land called Cantha. She was one of the many highly-skilled ritualists killed by Shiro Tagachi. Upon her death, Maiko met the Envoys where she tried to convince them to bring her back to life, but in vain. When she arrived at the Mists, her exceptional skill in channeling spiritual power landed her a new role in the afterlife: to slay any of Abaddon’s demons that happen to find their way to the domains of the gods.

Centuries later, a mysterious force pulled Maiko from the Mists. She ended up falling through a portal at a glorious tomb in a place called Elona, where she stole a dervish scythe and escaped the continent, eventually ending up at Orr during the fight with Zhaitan. From here, Maiko stowed away on a Pact airship headed back to mainland Tyria where she now wanders, lost in a foreign land.

Using her scythe, Maiko combines her revenant powers and old ritualist spells with dervish-like grace, able to channel the powers of the gods enforced with magics from the Mists.

Maiko will usually be found at places of high underworld/demonic activity, where she attempts to clean up the demonic presence and close portals.

Maiko Takumi is actually the ritualist that I played in Factions. This version of her is sharp and lethal, just like the weapon that she stole borrowed from Elona. Her look is supposed to be edgy, seductive, and lich-like, and honestly I’m pretty happy with how she looks.

Finally got my Pride Month piece done of Anna and Ella. They’re both in love. :’)

Dazzu was an engineer at the College of Synergetics where she attempted to create a device to give anybody elementalist powers, emulating the old spellcasters of the past. Instead of giving the user elementalist powers however, the device simply confused them, tricking them into thinking they could cast elemental spells when all they were really doing was throwing dirt and making spit bubbles. Her peers ridiculed her as she tried to perfect this device. Dazzu, now humiliated, dedicated her life to showing up her despicable ooze-brained peers. She went as far as to attempt to join the Inquest.

She had submitted her device to them, but they rejected her. Soon she found out that they had also copied her device and were using it to control people. Dazzu was furious, and she constructed a similar device and submitted that too. Except instead of confusing people, the device exploded when opened up, which wrecked an Inquest lab along with some of their experiments. This act of violence ignited Dazzu’s love of explosives and weaponry.

Dazzu gave up trying to work with fellow Asura and made a mock Krewe, hiring genius prodigies of the other races instead. Among these people were humans like Ella Turnberry, a Holosmith. Both Dazzu and Ella worked together to perfect their own holographic technologies, leading them to become very close friends.

Yep. I ported an Asura to Blender and gave her the female human version of the Krytan Top and Viper Skirt. I’m actually pretty ignorant of Asura lore and fan-canon so please feel free to correct me on things I know nothing about. 😅
