In the mountainside a detention center holds the most notorious anomalous humans the country has seen. The newest inmate, Yoni, an anomalous human with unrivaled speed, discovers the detention center’s secret: it has no warden. Determined to return to her old life, she organizes the inmates and plans a prison break. Except, not all is how it appears. Will Yoni be able to navigate strained allegiances, impossible odds, and constant betrayal to escape this hell? Or will she forever be trapped within the Psych Ward?

Malachi is a meticulous schemer who views those beneath him as little more than pawns. When in control of the East Wing, he manufactured peace with constant surveillance. Those he deemed useful were made into his knights. In exchange for carrying his doves within them, his knights enjoyed unchecked power within his territory. Malachi initially wanted Adyn to become one of his knights. The two clashed when Adyn rejected the offer and ultimately Malachi was dethroned. He swore to one day reclaim his territory and Adyn before abandoning the East Wing with his most loyal knights.

Adyn is a fairly laid back guy, despite his explosive personality. He’s content with the control and freedom he has as a boss, and keeps his underlings well protected. He dethroned Malachi because he didn’t trust him or liked how he was running the East Wing. Had Adyn been placed in the North or South Wing, he’d have done the same thing. He does have respect for Lilith, the West Wing Boss, because she seemingly cares about her underlings.

Quentin quickly allies himself with Yoni, giving advice on how best to navigate the social dynamics within the Psych Ward. He also helps Yoni further refine her anomaly so that she can contend with powerful inmates. He seemingly supports Yoni’s prison break scheme, helping her gain influence over the other inmates and form alliances with the other bosses.

Yoni is a rather naive person. She’s trusting and genuine, two traits that will be major weaknesses while dealing with the other inmates. Fortunately, these traits also make her incredibly trustworthy, or at the very least useful, in the eyes of the underhanded inmates that control the facility from within. Throughout her time in the Psych Ward, she will learn how to leverage her naive reputation to outmaneuver the other inmates.
