@sumos-dog-bone yeahh i get that i agree but i think its more abt the pattern of autistic characters being nonhuman and thus dehumanising autistic ppl than specifically this instance

it was honestly so nice that if connor becomes a deviant he doesn’t suddenly stop showing autistic traits, in fact some of them are even more prominent, but if he becomes more “machine”, from what i’ve seen he doesn’t show as many, if any at all

like, after dragon age pulled that “cole shows fewer autistic traits and stops being asexual if he becomes More Human” crap, i was pleasantly surprised that dbh didn’t pull the same thing

The fucking…. “the plan was always for you to become a deviant” twist with Amanda is fucking bullshit? for multiple reasons?

Like LOGICALLY from the point of Cyberlife, why fucking plan for something like deviancy? like that’s SO many new variables you can’t account for all of them. Trying to build up as many fail-safes to keep him as a machine and then just having a contingency plan for if he goes deviant makes a whole lot more sense.

And literally what does this do for Connor’s character? This is at the end of the game so there’s literally no way to show internal conflict or development for it. Like sure, the fan community can make some cool stuff for it, but you can’t rely on the community to do everything for you, DAVID.

Even from a game design (almost, i’m probably using the term wrong) it’s pretty fucking dumb. Like this is supposed to be a choice based story game, and we can CLEARLY fucking see in the machine run that Connor doesn’t HAVE to become deviant, so that couldn’t possibly be their fucking plan! Why put something SO far outside the realm of the main fucking mechanic of your game just to pull a shitty twist?

#i know I’ve been thinking about this for ages #esp the machine connor route thing like #is he technically not doing what he’s supposed to do by NOT going deviant what’s going on there #skdjjdks #also wasnt he made way before the revolution even started a #before deviancy was even a spread threat #EVEN after the prologue the first time we see connor #deviancy isnt REALLY seen as a wide spread problem and I’m pretty sure markus isnt even in jericho yet??#or in any case hasnt DONE anything yet #anyway this twist was just as dumb as the alice twist
