You know what? Ben needed a true embrace. He needed to be held for a long time. He went years of his life without any physical affection from anyone. I mean truly imagine going so long without any kind of care being shown through touch alone. He didn’t deserve to hug someone that was dead in his arms. He deserved to be hugged tightly, to physically feel that he was cared about by someone to the point that they didn’t want to let him go. He deserved to feel the warmth of someone else’s embrace and just for a slight second begin to realize that he could be loved. That there was room for love. That it was possible he could love himself one day, too.
