Tips to help you not binge
Iâve struggled with binging for so long, and I possibly always will. However, Iâve been able to stop myself sometimes and hereâs a list that will hopefully help you!
Donât even go out into the kitchen when you feel the urge to binge. I know you might want to go out there with the best of intentions, like to get a cup of green tea or a small snack like celery and carrots. However, youâll only get distracted by other things and you will end up grabbing more on your way out of the kitchen. Stay in your room for a whileâ distract yourself by painting your nails or watching your favorite show or by doing some sit-upsâ especially the work out part. If you work out, youâll feel better and not want to undo what you just did, so youâre more likely to go to the kitchen and just get the small snack or green tea. Just give yourself some time, basically. Sip some water, relax, and take your mind away from binging.
Write down everything youâre wanting to eatâ a piece of cake, a candy bar, cup of noodles, whatever it may beâ write down everything youâre craving and then write out how many calories each thing is. Add it all up and then enter that number into an online calculator to see how much that could make you gainâ youâll decide against binging after that.
Remember the progress youâve made when you werenât binging. Tell yourself that if you donât binge, youâll be down another couple of pounds by the end of the week, and that if you do give in, youâll only be back tracking and it will take you doubly as long (or maybe even longer) to lose the weight you wanted to plus the weight you put on from binging.
Donât get on social media when you feel like binging. Youâll only end up feeling worse about yourself and youâll end up feeling like youâll never get to your UGW, even though your UGW is very possible. Instead, pick up a book or read the back of a shampoo bottleâ literally anything to distract yourself from getting online.
This ones gross, but, smell something stinky. Or think of that picture with the backed up sink garbage disposal with the straw in it. That usually makes me feel a little sick and I donât want to eat when Iâm feeling like that.
All rightâ it isnât much but thereâs a few tips.
Please, please make sure you do eat something everydayâ eating a little something a few times a day isnât binging, I promise you. In fact, itâll only help you lose weight faster because youâre making your metabolism work.
Binging is when youâre continuously putting bad things into your body, one after the other, knowing itâs bad for you but not being able to stop.
A cup of celery and carrots isnât binging. A slice of cake every once in a while isnât binging.
And, if you DO end up binging, please donât be mad at yourself. Youâre okay, I promise. Youâll get through it, and youâll do better next time.
Binging one time isnât going to set you back forever. Youâre okay, babe.
