So I looked into it, and found various interviews from the authors that discussed the sort of people that the Vong were inspired by, ideologically speaking.

They're televangelists.

Something that uses the Christmas character designs. They're really cute and I want them to be used for something other than merchandise and a forgettable children's book. I heard a rumor once that they were originally made for a scrapped short film, and if that's true, that is a HUGE missed opportunity.

A Cars: The Video Game remaster. As evidenced by The Incredibles 2's complete retconning of the Incredibles games, Pixar doesn't care about video games, and movie tie-in games that aren't Fortnite collabs are pretty much dead, so this isn't happening. Still, it would be nice to see a version of that game that plays more or less the same, but with a more modern look (Unless they started treating it as a replacement for the original or something, in which case, forget everything I just said).

A World of Cars Online reboot. This actually exists! It's a fan project though, and you have to join the Discord to figure out how to sign up, and I REALLY don't want to do that, but still!!!

Adult-oriented Cars model kits. The latest Lightning McQueen LEGO set is a step in the right direction, but I would really like to see an entire line of film-accurate plastic model kits, LEGO or otherwise. Complicated ones! Unfortunately I think that even if this did happen, they would be massively oversimplified for children, because the people making these sorts of things tend to assume that "for kids" means "as dumbed down as possible". I'm pretty sure that the films are the only part of this entire franchise even remotely oriented towards adults.
