il nâest rien de rĂŠel que le rĂŞve et lâamour:
He has made it his task to reconstruct, stitch anew, string by string, knot by knot: a new quilt of a memory.
For eleven months he makes a prison, tries to keep her in the shafts of his mind simply to keep her living -- the same way evidence keeps a crime alive. He creates from the moment they part; he knows there are details escaping between the spaces of his fingers every passing minute. (The crinkle of her nose, the dots lining her left shoulder bone. The floral scent she left behind in every space she existed in, the light she bled into him through the cracks of his skin, touching of void rooms he did not know he had kept closed for thus long.
Her touch, and how it made even his metallic skin tender, malleable to her very fingertips.)Â
He keeps all these details scribed in a library he makes of in the house in his dreamscape. Each book writes of a different fragment of her, yet he knows heâll never reach the whole. This is now the only way he knows to love, trapping her singularities in a room. Devouring every detail. There comes a day when the space fills up with too many books, and he still does not have the whole to fill it all.
He becomes a small writer lost in a library too vast for him, overwhelmed by all the books he has still yet not written, and never will write, in how time has thieved of his memory.
The twelfth month, although the room of use no longer, he keeps the space. He does not tell or show Aria, and instead, scribes of all the remaining books to complete the empty shelves. He becomes a writer still lost in a place too vast for him, now a poet reunited with his greatest muse, a dreamer met with the most real dream of them all:
Aria.
@ariadote:Â
Itâs somewhat peculiar the way the mind works. With all of its complex weaving and various strands, each connecting to some other temptation or another that are nearly as delicate as a spiderâs web. And more peculiar still is how difficult it is to pull away from the lull of turbulent dreams.
Somewhere between levels 2, and 3, she mistakenly entertained such ideals â forgetting that what simply started as a sweet serene call to sleep, to allow oneself to wander through a realm as unsteady lucid dreams is like flipping a coin. She had forgotten that her nightmares are dreams too only this time theyâre disguised in wool.
Call it Pandoraâs box if you will, lifting the lid of box even just a crack lets a world deprived of all color escape, allowing  its inky grey, black, and fluorescent white take over and force her to leave behind any pieces that weigh too much behind, mostly that which she held dear to her. She leaves the parts of her heart that are scattered or broken on the floor, persevering onward to delve deeper inside of the lost parts of herself.
Thereâs the sound of a recording skipping, and repeating the same segment over and over again, comes to her attention. Has it been playing all this time?
Around them, every brick surrounding, every tile beneath her feet starts to shift â theyâre no longer in the chapel and instead they find themselves inside of a metro. Colors come to her attention, greens, yellow undertones, red of the mural covering the wall is so vivid along with the echo bouncing off the walls of the upcoming metro train nearly drowns out the irritating scratch of the looping music. A gust of wind comes, causing her long dark hair to beat against her face and the force of the dream collapsing causes her to fall to the floor.
Aria screams. She brings her hands to cover her ears, and ineffective attempt to block out her surroundings. Iâm not ready. Iâm not ready. Iâm not ready to face myself. Please, not yet.
As much as she wordlessly begs, despite her futile attempts to stabilize the dream the record has reached its end. This dream session is over despite the fact sheâs not ready to wake up and face the empty apartment again â She isnât ready to leave, not when this particular manifestation of Skyler feels so real. Iâm not ready to wake up. Iâm not ready. Iâm not ready. Let me see him for a while longer, please.
Aria. A distant voice calls her name, it overpowers the music, the train, and everything else thatâs falling apart around her. It breaks down any barriers sheâs built, shatters all levels around her as her own body responds. Her conscious recognizes it, and she lets go.
Awaking with a gasp, a sharp intake that makes her hyper aware of her surroundings. Instantaneously, Aria notices that sheâs covered in a thin layer of sweat, her bangs are a mess and plastered to her forehead just like the cotton of her dress shirt clings to her body. All of this are the least of her worries, and though it takes a while to fully come out of the high the dream has left her in â Â the hardest part is accepting it: After being lost for so long, she finally found what she sought after for all this time.
A bittersweet feeling resonates in her chest. What do you do with the so much freedom and the thread of time suddenly at her finger tips, again? Do you make up for lost memories, lost words, lost⌠time? This is the first time in months she can cling to the hand she has so desperately missed for so long, with her own small hands. The roughness of Skylerâs palms are a familiarity she promises she will never take for granted.
Clearly, all this is not a dream. The strong pulse of his blood is her indication, when she presses her thumb against the vein on the underside of his wrist itâs a simple past time she will never able to take pleasure in even in her wildest dreams. Never, could she ever, conjure up something as beautiful and pure as the warmth of his skin brushing lightly the skin of her own.
After a few more intakes of breath, Aria moves to lay on her side and look at him. It almost hurts to untangle their fingers, but she has to in order to touch Skylerâs face just as she had done in her dream, only this time she can take in all the tiny details she missed. Her eyes drink up every bit of him. Savoring details such as the small bit of stubble growing on his chin and along the run of his jaw, the length of his eyelashes, the imperfections that decorated the skin of his cheeks - God, how could she have forgotten such important things in her pathetic attempt to recreate him in her dreams?
âIs death really that far away from me.â Ariaâs voice comes out hoarse. Gingerly she drags the tips of her fingers across the slope of his chapped lips. Everything about him is so vivid, and bright, almost like that metro they both love so much that she feels ashamed to look at him; ashamed of herself for past transgressions. âBecause I feel as if heaven is here with me now.â
This isnât a dream anymoreâŚ
Reality is too hard of a concept to grasp. To believe that she isnât stuck on another layer of a dream, nor trapped in the endless loop of her nightmares is nearly impossible to believe. Whatâs even more blasphemous is to think that some where between being lost and found, she managed to take back a missing link from the complex web of her mind as Skyler made it through the paradoxes littered with the misplaced monsters from those whose minds she left empty after stealing what was most precious to them. He conquered her demons, he wore the scars proudly like a trophy.
âI was born alone in this world only to become a by product of someone elseâs game of manipulation. A tool. Inhuman, and alone are you still so certain that death is so far away from me or from us, my darling boy?â
He doesnât recall the last time heâs dreamt a dream.
The line between what is real and what is nightmare is a blur, as it always has been. Instead of creating an Aria, he nightmares himself a god, and they meet to talk, always by the corner cafe a block away from the SacrĂŠ-CĹur.
âWhat was it like to leave her?â God asks.
âYouâre always asking questions you know the answers to.â He replies.
âWell, am I not just another figment of your imagination? Youâre taking a question too seriously from someone that isnât real.â God seems displeased at his silence, but doesnât press on forward.
They both survey their surroundings, where things have begun their way in becoming out of place. Flowers growing from within car parts. Birds walking the sidewalk as if theyâve forgotten flight. Rain falling inside a shop. Coffee cups filled with gasoline. Everything is misplaced, astray â he remains trying to find some meaning in all of this. âSkyler, what was it like to lose her?â
âIt wasâŚâ He begins, and god ceases. He watches a mother and her son part two streets away, and turns his head left to watch two children waving each other goodbye. âIt was like hearing every goodbye said to me."
"It was like hearing every goodbye said to me, all at once.â
God doesnât appear to him after that âmare. He waits at the same cafe every night, but he is kept in solitude. Instead, he continues to observe the universe out of order and the millions of goodbyes around him that seem both endless and perpetual. The next time god appears, is the first time he looks for god in a place that doesnât hurt.
He wakes with her, and unlike her, heâs clear sure of reality for the first time. Their eyes meet and he realizes what heâs done to her, and itâs a little more terrifying than love itself. She looks at him like heâs some religion, and with the utmost softness in her hues. Somewhere, the god of his mind comes to him again. He seems angry, and he does not blame him for the rage.
(God: You took a girl who needed saving, tried to be god â and now sheâs too afraid to go to church.)
âNot death.â He brings her hand into his own, and swears he can feel each heartbeat through her wrist. âAnd not heaven.â He places his lips on her palm, giving her a kiss that he knows will linger and reach her heart. His eyes remain steadfast on her the whole time, until he leans in, their lips coming together softly.
A kiss, some fucked up kind of absolution.
âReality.â
It was once said that if you look for it the light will find you, or you will find the light. I canât really remember the specific order but that is irrelevant. What is important is that I believed in that light. I had so much faith that someday the light would come to me that it would brighten all that was unclear to me, and then I found you.Â
Have you ever heard about Midnight sun? A natural occurrence that happens during the summer solstice in places like Norway, or even Alaska. The sun doesnât set for a full twenty four hours, and in my dreams i dream of you like this⌠as a natural occurrence, yet an irregular phenomenon. In other dreams, I, myself, am as cold as a polar night which is the opposite of midnight sun. I fear I was holding you back, and in a way I still am.
I write all this, and yet I still hold onto so much fear which init of itself is a lack of faith that everything will be alright, or that the outcome may cause pain. Why do I fear still, have we not both been through hell and back again. I guess, itâs uncertainty of the future and what it may hold.
I love you, you know that, right? Even if I canât say it out loud and have never said it out loud. I do. And I always have.

"It's easy to return, difficult to leave... is this what it's like to die?"
He finds her three levels under.
She's asleep in a chapel, all windows and doors closed and locked. He only enters from a floor beneath, through an entrance only he and she know -- from the Kernig mission, four whole years ago. The architecture of the scape is all the same. The same, quiet sanctuary, with only his steps in echo between the walls. The light bleeds in through colored mosaic, and he lifts his arm to keep sight. The light comes to kiss his skin but does no more -- it leaves, his bones remaining untouched.
He walks past thirty, or so aisles of empty, wooden benches. As he approaches the front area, he slows. (His blood begins to run.)
He remembers the morning of leaving. The rain showers outside, and the still apartment. Midnight, perched upon a chair, stirred awake with even the smallest of noise. His body thinks differently than his mind: it gravitates for, towards her. It knows not of space, and only of proximity. His hands not know of what to do when they are not in hers, and when he stands, his feet remain where she remains. All his lips desire are butterfly kisses upon her skin while his fingers thread through her hair -- his heart is in her palms. His human heart: that ill-obedient, tender engine.
Returning was out of plan and highly unlogical. Like everything else, he had made an impulsive, selfish decision, and everything else had followed, naturally and unnaturally. He was always running, and someone was always chasing. To ask her to come run with him for something as stupid as love -- was foolish. To have her need to join this endless, paradoxical race -- was selfish. And so he had ran, to anywhere she would not follow, to everywhere she could not follow. But here he was again, at the center of the loop. He had run right back to her, idiotically, illogically.
His human heart: that ill-obedient, tender engine. Love revved it.
The footsteps stop once he takes a seat besides her. She should be peaceful, slumbering in such a serene place -- yet there is dusk under her eyes and nothing warm about her. When he touches her, a palm against her cheek, the presence of God overwhelms him and sin sits besides him.
Selfish, selfish sinner.
But Lord, I will only be more selfish.
What comes after turns away the gaze of the angels. He ignores all conscious and he leans down, lips kissing upon her's. To the heavens, it is simile to Eve's first kiss with the forbidden fruit -- this is the start of mayhem, and he knows it. She stirs easily, eyes slow to open till meeting his. Then she slinks upward, a hand on his face, expression of someone who's seen a phantom, a white ghost. She seems at a loss for words, and so he smiles, hand placed over hers. They sit in silence for a minute longer, until she cracks at words."It's easy to return, difficult to leave... is this what it's like to die?"
"Easy to return?" His laughter which follows resounds in the space; the walls seem to shake, so fragile in their standing. "You think death is so easy to conquer, my darling?" He leans into the hand that still rests upon his cheek, eyes closing, in content. "Death is something far from you. Worry about it another time. Not now." He takes in a breath of air -- it's been long since his lungs have seemed to work. "Not now."
( ... )
Iâm not a sheep she wants to tell him, Iâm a nothing but a wolf in sheepâs clothing and no amount of scripture could rinse the taste of blood from my mouth.
The colors from the glass so far above their heads are blinding. The lights refract, bend and are fragmented as if to touch the objects they do as shards, all in their respective colors. He looks up, simple in act as it is. A familiar set of faces stares back upon him: Mother Mary, the Messiah and the Kingsmen surrounding the son of God. The lights from this mosaicked scene guide him toward the wooden cross floating dead center at the stage up by the chancel. The colors grace the shape of the wood, highlighting the edges of the cross. The lights ignite his bones, flame his skin -- he is reminded of the perpetual array of sin he has come to commit. Suddenly temptationâs fingers glide over his throat for a confession, of all the iniquities and felonies he holds in his palms. The feeling fleets and is momentary the instant the sun looks away; she takes the colorful beams with her.Â
And the chapel becomes monochrome.
Aria slips from his fingers to head somewhere else, and he watches her back move away from him. He is only left with the warmth that had once been trapped between the hollow spaces of their fingers. Once again, he is let alone to his thoughts that consume him without her. He follows her for a couple more steps, then he ceases the motion. His hand grips against the wooden frame of one of the benches, taking a seat. His hands do not come together as they once habitually had in Godâs presence. Instead, he leans back, the crowned thorns of Christ being what puncture through him as his shoulders hit the back of the chair. The seat is uncomfortable, and in the way he feels each thistle grapple against his skin and not let go -- he knows he is not of welcome in Godâs sacred sanctuary anymore.Â
Echoes of desperate prayers fill between the grand walls all around him, and murmurs of a particular woman are close to him. His head turns and he sees a woman cloaked in black, as if she were a sister. He does not mean to pry but he catches the faintest red clothes she wears underneath, and his ears listen in on the prayer she fumbles and whispers. His ear strains closer and he begins to find it is not a prayer but more a chant -- Father, let the Holy Spirit guide me back to you, Lord, let the Holy Spirit lead me back to you, God, let the Holy Spirit bring me back to you. He eyes between the woman and the cross, and he realizes what kept him so distanced from that very cross. He had smothered the very guiding light that was the Holy Spirit --Â
What led his steps now here was nothing but him and himself only.Â
The woman sparks something in him, and he takes a stand again. He catches her attention and he bows his head in respect, although an awry grin settles upon his lips. He sees the way she flinches away from him, with fear grappling her eyes. He leaves and soon he is of the aisle again, dead ahead with only that same damned cross peering down at him. He walks, with his eyes not on the sacred icon of the son but his sun, and his light -- he walks with his eyes on Ariaâs back.Â
âYou have made god of a woman.â His steps cease again and the sun has come again, with his shoes half-sunk in her gleam. A stranger sitting to his right gives him a stern expression, and he returns it with a soft smile. âYou have made her your only god and you have been let astray from the path.â
âJe mâen fou.â He speaks with such a smile, and the stranger only expresses his appall in the scrunch of his nose. âAmen.â The sun moves yet again and does not peek through the cracks into the still chapel. His shadowed feet move again, toward nothing but her.Â
As he moves closer to her, step by step, he feels the way the cross burns, as the burning bush did. He hears the booming voice of whomever -- âGod,â and he speaks of to strip himself of his shoes on such holy ground. âJe mâen fou. Amen.â He murmurs again under his breath, with the defiance of Ramesses and with a face lifted toward the glassed pictures above him. Mother Maryâs lips purse and he only grins.
The cross becomes inflamed as his hand reaches out and rests on Ariaâs shoulder. She is warm, and his hand is cold. He leans into her ear as he tucks hair behind it, catching her godsent scent. She turns her head to him and he sees the way her skin reflects even the dimmest of lights. The walls of the church may roar and begin to tumble as the tower of Babel at such a wrong deed, but for him, for him she is what commands him, what guides him and what leads him to the still waters of heavenâs fields.Â
He hath truly madeth god of a woman, and he only wished to continue his homage.
âTime to go home, Aria.â He lifts her from her knees and back onto her feet. He takes her hand again and feels the warmth it provides. He does not let go this time. âLetâs leave.â He does not give her a choice as they retreat back to the gates of Godâs house. Just as they reach it, he sees the light come in one last time and it hits both their faces. His eyes remain wide open as he sulks into the shadows and brings her with him.Â
The sun recedes for them, and she sets. Night falls and so do the churchâs doors for the two sinners. Rain falls as well, as the God above cries for his lost sheep.

âSometimes, violence is necessary. Violence changes things.âÂ
âAre you alright, Jiyong? You seem out of it today.âÂ
You should have died instead, I should have lived. Itâs almost like itâs your own blood on your hands, isnât it? Are you happy, Jiyong? I thought we would be together till the end, two halves together only whole when together. Thatâs what you said â Itâs almost like itâs your own blood on your hands, isnât it? Donât miss me, move on. Itâs almost like itâs your own blood on your hands isnât it? Itâs lonely here without you. Itâs almost like itâs your own blood on your hands isnât it? I miss you, so much more than I can bare, Jiyong. But you⌠you, ah.
Do you miss me?Â
SHUT UP, SHUT UP, SHUT THE FUCK UP â Â
âJiyong, are you okay?â No. Too many voices in my head.
No, that was the wrong way to describe his mental cell. There were only two voices residing there. The first, whom only chanted one and only one sentence. And the second, such a familiar voice he knew so well that whispered one thing, then changed masks to shout another. Multiple different facades and he was losing himself trying to listen for which one was truly her.  It was a voice that was fading out by the second and he longed to hold onto for longer. But instead it slipped between his fingers, like loose strands of gray hair. But he needed to capture it, her voice. That was all he had left. He needed to save it, some how, trap it more than in the confinements of his head. He was losing her too quickly. Time was not a comrade. Comrade? What battle was he fighting? Whomever the enemy was, he was losing. Wounded. Bleeding? Internally. Or maybe this was just a psychological game. Only the worst warfare of them all.Â
He was going insane.
Too many fucking voices in his head yet he couldnât find his own amongst it.
She sees them before he feels them. The next time he grasps any sense of reality is when her fingers brush over his arms, tracing along the outer bits until they arrived by his palms. And then she would trace his palm lines, one by one, ever so patient and slowly. Her final act would be to place their hands together, clasping her fingers over his own. He only realized he was in tears when his vision was blurry as he tried so hard to gaze upon that face of hers. No words are allowed to leave him but his hands sign to her.Â
Thereâs violence in my head, and it wonât stop.
She watches him make out the words with his hands, and he sees the pity glossing over her eyes. âSometimes, violence is necessary. Violence changes things⌠Itâs⌠itâs not alright, obviously.â She seems to regret her own words all of a sudden before she continues again. âI donât think anything will be the same for any of usâŚÂ but can you please, at least try to tell me, just what is going on inside that head of yours?â She pauses. He can see the way she contemplates. Itâs written over the way her lips purse, tightly too as they close until they speak with that wondrous voice of hers again. âOr⌠not tell, but show me.â For a moment, itâs him who contemplates. Itâs written in the way his eyes close, shut tight until wrinkles formulate along his forehead.Â
âShow me.â
The scene shifts immediately, and he doesnât quite remember when heâs ever agreed to what is happening â but it all happens too quick, and heâs got her hand in his own the next time he breathes out. Itâs hard to show her the monsters in his head, because â they are only mere projections, and what he believes is that the true monster lurks beneath his own skin. Itâs even harder because she only smiles, as if he cannot feel the way her every step shakes against the solid cement they walk upon. He doesnât blame her for her fearing, his dreams werenât exactly a childâs fantasy.
The charcoal cement beneath almost melts into tile as they continue. Suddenly thereâs a glow, some sort of light and then one realizes they had been in the darkness the whole time. And then the air hits them â itâs warm, ventilated, kept and trapped. Then walls come up soon after, and the house builds around them, above them. They still are walking as the house constructs itself all around, and when Jiyong ceases in his next stop, sudden the ground beneath them has been brought up. They stop and soon they stand upon the second floor of a miniature house. He tenses, because he feels her anger in bringing someone else into their home.
The wall besides him is splattered with red, marked with an H. As they walk past, his steps quicken but they are not quick enough. The walls almost seem to cave in on the both of them as they whisper â itâs almost like itâs your own blood on your hands, isnât it? His hand tightens on Ariaâs, and he stops again once a door appears down the hall.
âLet me out. Let me out⌠LET ME OUT, LET ME OUT â JIYONG, LET ME OUT!âÂ
The door shakes in fear. The ground beneath them trembles with it too. He hears the lights on the ceiling buzz, not in excitement but in complete frantic anticipation. But he remains firm in his stance, looking over at Aria. Itâs pain stricken, but he smiles. Apologetic, maybe. Before he can say anything else, the door frame succumbs to the pounding and the air around them becomes cold. His hand slips from Ariaâs and he can no longer hide the way it vibrates in the journey to the door handle. It turns, unlocks â the door screams.
She comes ready, bursting from the door and he only watches as a knife plunges through Ariaâs stomach. She falls to the ground on her knees and he feels the other female tug him towards the door, inside. He wants to help Aria and he can only watch through the punctured gape of how she bleeds on the floor of the house. The walls cry for her. He disappears behind the door with Hayong.Â
He regrets opening doors to her in the first place.
I thought I would be understood without words.
Vincent Van Gogh, in a letter to Theo Van Gogh
Youâre (slowly, lovingly) killing me, but I canât seem to fucking care.Â
( ... )Â
She is alone here in this abandoned house with only the dead for company.
That is until quiet footfalls echo loudly in the empty house and an elongated shadow slides across the dusty floors and meets the toes of her feet. Jieun doesnât bother looking up when he speaks. Sheâd known he would come. The voices have been warning her. Heâs coming. The Dreamer is coming.
I know is what the quirk of her lips means. The shadow extends once more. The lights at the end of the hall flickers. OnceâŚtwice..thrice⌠Somewhere in the locked basement below them, someone screams in agony.Â
Jieun looks away. Doesnât shake his hand. âHas it?â Congratulations, Seeker. Do you want a prize? Her voice shatters the white noise, quiets the spirits lingering in the corners of the house. The walls shudder in response, creak eerily. The vase of full of white daisies cants too far, tips over, and dies a sad, pitiful death on the blood-stained floors. Jieun doesnât flinch, simply pulls her legs to her chest, chin resting atop her knees. Finally, finally, she tilts her head up to look at him. The smile that nearly splits her face in two is anything but innocent. âDid you miss me?â
âFuck, no.â He laughs.
He lets himself settle a gaze upon her face just as the light does the same. While the light caresses over her skin, he canât help but to recognize the subtle differences. She had been no child of God before, but she certain hadnât held hands with the devil. Her lips lean toward the latter now, with a smile so foreboding. He doesnât remember this Jieun. He could feel the walls shake with his mind -- something had changed. But he remained unfazed, undazed. He had changed too, for the better. (He could fool himself for entertainment.)
âThe only thing I miss is my sanity.â
The house replies with a roar, feeling a sudden gust of wind shake him up. Subconsciously, he looks towards the source but there are no windows lining the walls. The door is behind him, not across -- he stops thinking. âBut you, thatâs different for you. Always different, always the anomaly, always the outlier.â
âThere are many things you miss.â He watches the white petal that had been whisked by the wind from before. âThe wind in your hair as you run free, uncaring about anything... not with a single worry.â Both pairs of eyes in the room watch, seeing the petal perform in the air before it graces its edges along the red pooled on the floor. It drowns there, in the red -- and soon, the white is consumed, swallowed whole. In only a second, itâs as if the daisy hadnât existed at all. âYou miss existing too, being more than a tool.â Their eyes meet a second time instead and he remembers all over again. But this time, he remains unmoved, with not even a blink of his eye. âAnd you certainly, oh so painfully miss him, the one across this very wall.âÂ
He doesnât see him, but he breaks the fourth wall and he senses him. The kid with the big eyes, big frame and the big fucking heart. And most importantly, her biggest fucking mistake. âYouâll kill him easier when you stop. Heâs getting addicted, to these dreams. To dreams with you. Heâll live and breathe easier if you fucked off. Itâll only take him some time.â The hypocrisy shrouded among the fog of his words are easily seen with a flashlight.Â
âTime which you donât have.âÂ
( ... )
Someone with a nice talk and eyebags as big as his own, someone with quite the confidence over a technique he dismantled with the datas he had in order to comprehend and find a trail to follow to find the answers he needed at its end.
His tongue clicked, the sound echoing alongside their voices in a friendly reminder that he still was oh so merrily trapped in his own memory. Bothersome.
ÂŤ This is not a dream. Âť He paused for a moment and his hands were shaking âa little bit, he noticed with a quick glance downwards; nervousness perhaps, and he even had all the reasons to be, especially since there was an apparent intruder in his mind.  This is a memory. I lived this, years ago. I will keep living this. You cannot fix the past, itâs called past for a reason, you know. Âť
He catches it. His eyes catch the movement because he knew to be attentive in such a dreamscape. The body made more sense than mere words said from the lips -- and his shaking hands told him enough. Just like the devil hid between the cracks of the details, and in this particular space, he found it in untied laces and the otherâs damp skin.
âKeep living it? You are insane, absolutely nonsensical.â His words were bitter, ratâs poison by the time they left the tip of his tongue. And he swallowed them, much too easy -- because they were in a way, words to himself. âYouâre right, you canât fix the past. But you canât keep living the past either. Or more...â He has trouble finding the right words but then they come to him. âOr more so that you shouldnât live in the past. Itâs not healthy.â Once again, the words are uncomfortable even if he beguiles himself that they are for the boy, and no one else.
His hands disappear into his pockets when he feels them so cold to lose against the battle with the air around them. And thatâs strange, because his hands are always much too cold. Here, they seem warm, as if he held heat in them.
âYou didnât tell me you were a maze addict.â His voice is light as he circles around his original spot. A meter is his maximum diameter, and he keeps close to the other. âAre you going to explain things to me, or am I supposed to explore it myself?â His back is thrown against the wall where the other sits and he slides down. He hits the floor, rough in movement. He lets his elbows rest above his knees, head turning to face his eyes. He tries to read them, if theyâre fear stricken and just if, just maybe if they might to with his trembling hands and sticky skin. âThere must be a reason you keep coming back to live this... of all memories. Why live a maze youâve already cracked and solved out of?âÂ
He blinked, spitting out the words then immediately wondering if the answer was the exact reverse. Had he never escaped the maze? Was that the reason lying at the end of this?
âOr... you keep coming back because you truly havenât escaped?â
