Various Fandom Prompts

When I genuinely enjoy a fictional work I find it very entertaining to pick it apart and analyze it from a - relatively - realistic standpoint (in terms of morals, laws, etc not necessarily magic). One of the ONLY fandoms, however, that I don’t usually admit to being a significant part of is HP because that universe, more than any other, I have Serious Questions about.

Mainly, HOW DOES THIS GOVERNMENT WORK?? Like I’m not a political science or legal student but I have So Many questions with the way their government, and especially legislation, works.

I have serious beef with the idea of using dementors as a sanctioned force in detainment (psychological torture anyone???) much less around a SCHOOL (and don’t even get me started on how much their school both confuses and pisses me off).

And like? Trials?? I feel like there definitely should be a law that says people are entitled to a trial before sentencing??? And I get the war and executive decisions in the name of security and expediency during a time of terror and so forth, but like after?? I feel like, legally and morally speaking, the government needed to review all the arrests made during the war and ensure that the people they locked up - especially those WITHOUT TRIAL - were actually guilty.

And security measures? In the literal seat of government and around areas containing super confidential and dangerous things should exist?? Like literally ANYTHING? At some point someone must have seen the veil and been like,,, we should find a way to seal that off when we’re not studying it in case something happens (like, I DON'T KNOW, SOMEONE FALLING IN). Or a way to prevent people just coming in and out? Or have a set night guard like EVERYONE else? Even maybe literally just AN ALARM SYSTEM?????

To be fair, it’s been a while since I’ve actually read the books and I’ve done approximately zero research on canon or British government and law and I am neither British nor magical nor have even been to the time period these books are set in, but I digress.

Prompt:

So basically I just would really like to see someone explore what would happen if someone just walked around going actually Minister, that’s illegal you can’t do that. Actually Minister you need to review these arrests and ensure they were not innocent, it’s the law. Actually, sir, if you do that we would have to charge you with obstruction of justice and knowledgeable evasion of due process (or something idk I’m not a lawyer).

And just basically solve like,,, at least 80% of the main plot by literally just Doing Their Job.

I, personally, project onto Percy because he gives off repressed-middle-child-gifted-burnout-closeted vibes that I really relate to (no, I cannot expand on that) and also is in government and has the anxious-stickler-for-rules personality (that I also feel on a personal level) that would make someone look the collective government in its horrifically tangled, legal clusterfuck and be like You Can’t Do That. But, again, I digress.

I wanted to write this, realized I don’t have the patience to write a full fic and posted this instead. Here’s the working summary I’d planned tho:

This is less of a prompt and more of just me ranting about Hawks because I have So Many Thoughts on his character and find him/his backstory Very Interesting.

Like I’ve seen some headcanons/fics where Hawks is a suuuper light-weight because there’s No Way the Commission would ever let their little protege near something which could a) set a bad example for others and affect his publicity and b) could impair judgement and reaction time and “You Need To Be The Best Otherwise You’re Worthless Hawks,” but like, he’s an infiltration agent? And all creepy meet-ups happen in bars nowadays and teaching Hawks how to get even more info by plying his victims (villain, hero, whoever they’re creeping on at the moment) with alcohol is such an obvious and effective thing to do??

So I imagine Hawks was trained as a hero much the same way espionage agents and like the Black Widow (I’m a superhero nerd too, this is the best way I can think to describe it I’m sorry) were trained to be elite, obedient, mission-oriented fighting machines who had a wiiiiide variety of skill sets because what use is investing all this time and money into an agent if they can only do what pretty much Every Other Hero can do too?

So basically - Hawks was trained in the Commission like it was the Red Room.

I mean the whole shabang: infiltration, espionage, lying/acting, how to drug/poison someone, torture and interrogation (resistance and being the interrogater because You Never Know (and also the Hero Commission is f*cked enough to do that)), hell even hacking, language skills (because what if he needs to get info from someone who doesn’t speak Japanese or even English and like if you have ten years to train someone might as well be thorough right), ANYTHING their best weapon agent might need to complete ANY assignment they give him.

But he knows to get medical treatment ASAP because otherwise he could get permanent injuries and That’s Not Allowed, He Cannot Be Made Useless To The Commission so he knows his limits Very Well but has MASTERED the art of pushing himself until he’s juuuuust this side of decommissioning permanent damage. Because, yes being hurt is bad and don’t take unnecessary hits because that could cause SCARS and Your Image Hawks but his entire purpose in life is to do Whatever the Commission Deems Necessary so he will Go All The Way.

Lying? Acting? This man can pass a polygraph so easily it’s not even funny, literally he’s been trained so well does a machine even exist that could catch him? Probably not, but, unfortunately, he’s not immune to truth-telling/lying/etc quirks (no matter how HARD the Commission tried) so they’ve taught him to work around that. Not exactly lying, not exactly divulging relevant information either. He’s so fluent in half-truths and obscurities that half the time the Commission isn’t even sure he’s telling THEM everything.

Explanation:

So Hawks was just animated and he’s such an interesting character I immediately went and read all the manga spoilers for his character (oops) and he’s now one of my favorites. Especially as I am absolutely obsessed with some of the headcannons going around that he has more bird-like traits than we directly see but has been trained out of them, told to hide/cover them up, or even forced into cosmetic surgery to ‘correct’ them because f*ck the Hero Commission they seem really terrible to the point this isn’t entirely implausible.

(I love these hcs especially: stress-grip, gloves for talons and gait-correcting boots, preference for raw meet but being trained never to show ‘animalistic traits’ including chip-like noises or need for preening, and just generally having like zero human contact and being SUPER touch starved)

And all of that is really messed up and it leaves me wanting some good old fashioned angsty confrontations between birb-boy and literally any other hero (cuz he’s a baybey, he’s like almost 10 years younger than almost all his coworkers) who’s like ‘kid that’s not f*cking ok’

Prompt:

Can I please just get Tokoyami going to Aizawa (cuz they just went over how to spot and recognize sings of abuse and to always tell someone about it because even if it seems like it’s okay, it’s NoT) and being like ‘you know how you told us if we see something say something, we’ll I’d like to report a case of suspected abuse’ and his teacher being like ‘okay, damn I’m proud of you for coming to me, who is it? Is it one of my students?’

‘Ah no, actually, it’s Hawks’

‘Hawks the number two hero who you’re doing your internship with Hawks? That Hawks???’

‘Yes’

And he’s just like ‘f*cking damnit more problem children!!!! Just what I need. Alright kid, lay it on me, who do u think’s abusing him and how’

And they launch this whole investigation and other heroes get pulled in and they kinda start getting really concerned (it can’t be a significant other he has none, can’t be family he has none, can’t be a friend he has none, dude wtf is he OK)

Explanation:

So I just binged the entirety of season one of TUA and almost died with how much I love these characters. I’m honestly not sure I can pick a favorite because I love them all so much, but I definitely see Grace as one of the most interesting.

I mean she’s a ROBOT MOM but she actually seems to have feelings and is able to think for herself (most clearly seen in The Day That Wasn’t) and her kids seem to truly care about her and see her as a mother and family member, not just a robot nanny programmed to take care of them.

I especially love her and Diego’s relationship because it’s so wholesome and beautiful and GOD WE NEED MORE OF THIS FLUFF.

Prompt:

Diego - true to his soft, momma’s-boy self - takes Grace out on walks (with or without the family) or to the movies and parks and such to help her experience the things she missed out on when Reginald was around and so he can spend some quality time with mom.

One of Diego’s friends (probably a police officer) sees Diego and Grace and goes ‘holy sh** are you CHEATING on PATCH?!?’ (because she didn’t die because f*** that) and he’s like ‘NO this is my MOM.!’ So the friend looks at Grace and her perfectly smooth skin, impeccable hair and makeup, and who cannot possibly be more than five years older than Diego much less decades and goes ‘nice try but at least tell a believable lie next time like she’s your cousin or something’ and the whole thing basically spirals out of control.

Explanation:

One thing that’s always bothered me about this fandom is how casually most of the characters’ pain/trauma was just. . . not discussed. I mean these are kids who are essentially fighting a war that’s taken thousands of lives and ENTIRE WORLDS and aside from a few sad tears here and there, their mental health/mental repercussions are not addressed.

Especially the Nobodies! They have some of the most tragic backstories in the game and after they get their hearts back they just seem to forget all about the fighting for their lives they did against each other just a little while before. I mean, I get that they’re on the same side now, but I feel like (especially now that they have hearts) they would be able to just forget all the terror they should have been feeling when they were killed.

Like Sora killed a lot of them and I feel like it would at the least be hard for them to be around him for extended amounts of time. Or it would be really weird if Ienzo wasn’t uncomfortable around Lea and Riku (the spitting image of his killer). Even Roxas should be uncomfortable around Riku for all that happened between them.

It’s also shown that Sora can feel the emotions of those inside him to a certain extent (ie when he cries when meeting Hayner, Pence, and Olette). Building off this, I feel like it wouldn’t be unreasonable for Sora to feel remnants of Roxas’ apprehension/fear/anger at Riku and be super confused by it.

Prompt:

A story where, after the return of the organization to their human forms (or being absorbed as in Xion, Roxas, and Naminé) the former Nobodies and those around them have to learn to be allies/get past their hurtful pasts with each other.

Specifically they all have to deal with working with/seeing the people who killed/attacked them as in:

- Ienzo and Lea

-Roxas/Xion/Sora and Riku

- Ienzo and Riku (because he was killed by Repliku)

- Sora and all the Nobodies he killed

I think it would be more fun to focus on the Nobodies’ perspectives if you address both sides just because I think there’s a lot more there to talk about and explore, but that’s just me.

Explanation:

So when watching the first season I was really interested by the paradox of the assasins holding such a reverence and respect for life but still being, you know, ASSASSINS. They say all life is sacred and that’s way it can’t be taken lightly, so I was really confused when Runaan still insisted on killing both targets even after Rayla showed him the egg.

For all intents and purposes, only one life had to be taken in revenge now that it was shown that the dragons had only lost one family member as well, right?

Well that reaction kinda confused me with the way they were talking about the sanctity of life earlier and it got me thinking about what would have happened had Runaan succeeded (thus seemingly going against his own code).

Prompt:

What if the ‘life is sacred and not to be taken lightly’ mantra the elves had was more than just a belief, but an actual rule they were (literally) bound to follow with consequences should they break it.

In this case, when Runaan kills both the king and Ezran even when Zym was unharmed, he is breaking that code, thus causing consequences to follow.

Basically, his actions upset the balance and, because of two human lives were taken in revenge for two Dragon lives, in the end two Dragon lives need to be lost as well. So, Zym needs to be killed as well or else something terrible will happen.

You could also make it to where, instead of Zym needing to be killed, some magical force kills Zym to restore the balance and everyone has to deal with the fallout.

Explanation:

Kingdom Hearts is one of my oldest and most dear fandoms; it’s something that I’ve been obsessing over since I was really young. I absolutely love all the character connections and interactions, but I especially adore the Nobodies because they have such interesting context and relationships due to their lack of hearts/emotions.

Looking back on some of the scenes I hadn’t really thought much of when I was a kid, I began to realize how dark some of the plot of KH could be interpreted as. Like Axel, Roxas, and Xion’s whole relationship is tragic (especially considering they didn’t even think they actually had the capacity to care about each other). Axel’s death was heart-breaking and Roxas’ struggle with identity was captivating.

I, personally, am a huge lover of angst and hurt/comfort, however, and tend to headcannon that more angsty-type stuff happened in fandoms than was explicitly shown on-screen. In KH, I like to headcannon that things were a lot worse for the Nobodies than was shown in the games.

The whole organization is led by a man who not only has no emotions (and thereby no ability to feel remorse, guilt, sympathy, etc) but actively thinks of his subordinates as disposable pawns. No one in the organization can feel emotions either (no loyalty or care for each other beyond similar goals = allies) and it’s been shown that they experiment with living creatures to try to achieve their goals (ie: their use of Namine to alter memories and their creation of Xion and other replicas).

I feel like it’s totally plausible that they’ve done experiments/things that would be considered extremely inhumane to each other in the name of achieving their goal.

Like Xemnas ordering experiments on Roxas to try to see if he can find a way to transfer the power of the Keyblade or figure out how Roxas can use one when he doesn’t have a heart (because isn’t the power of the Keyblade determined by the strength and light of one’s heart) or letting Vexen test new potions/poisins/inventions/experiments on the members when one of them gets in trouble as punishment.

I feel like if this happened they wouldn’t even bother with anesthesia because, even if the Nobodies can feel pain, it’s not like they can get mad about it, or hold a grudge or anything of the sort. It would even make it a more effective punishment without using it.

Thinking on this, I realized I really wanted someone to acknowledge that the Nobodies lives were really messed up and if any reasonable adult (the Disney characters don’t count because I don’t think a single one of them understands the words reasonable or normal) found out how everyone treated them and acted toward them, they would have words.

Of course, I wanted the adult(s) to be someone who wouldn’t just bemoan the injustice but actually try to do something about it, so it’d probably have to be a hero-type of some sort (to guarantee the motivation to help and ability to actually try and do so because the KH universe is still really dangerous and getting on Xemnas’s bad side isn’t a great idea for someone who can’t hold their own).

Then my brain went, ‘Hey, why not an actual hero? Not a vigilante though, because we’re looking for someone who isn’t slightly insane or on the run from the law’ and BNHA immediately popped into my head. With the world-hopping of Kingdom Hearts it wouldn’t be very hard to merge the two fandoms in a fic (it would actually be very easy - just have the BNHA universe be another world). Thus, this prompt was born.

Prompt:

The pro-heroes of the BNHA universe (you should definitely include our favorite angry tired dad - his protective instincts would literally die at Roxas and Xion (and Naminé if you include her)) come across one (or more if you feel like it) of the Nobodies hurt or being hurt and try to step in. (I live for the Sea-Salt-Trio (Roxas, Axel, Xion) so I definitely think you should spotlight them but Demyx is a really fun character too).

The Nobody(ies) run away (because they aren’t supposed to interact with people/be seen) and, after a couple of these reports/incidents the pros start to think there’s an underground human tracking ring (dealing in kids/teens and young adults) and are FURIOUS. Their protective instincts kick in and they set out to save all the ‘poor, kidnapped, brainwashed children’ (which isn’t exactly an inaccurate description lmao).

I think it would be cool to have the Nobody(ies) finally give in toward the end after being caught and telling the pros what they are and why they’re doing what they’re doing and everyone just having to deal with the fallout of THAT revelation.

Sooo this isn’t really a prompt or anything, but lately I’ve been watching AMVs, especially for BNHA, and I really wanted a good one for Legends Never Die because I thought it just fit so perfectly. Unfortunately, I only found a couple and they were all focused on the students when there was SO MUCH potential to spotlight the teachers and other pros.

Explanation:

So I was rewatching BNHA for like the millionth time and the scene where Nezu introduced himself came up and after thinking about his backstory for a minute my mind immediately went to Rocket from Guardians of the Galaxy. I just went holy sh** they have literally the same background and stuff and I absolutely NEED to see them interact. Like a Rocket/Nezu friendship would be the greatest thing to ever exist and you can’t change my mind.

Prompt:

Literally just Rocket and Nezu meeting and bonding over their past and complaining about humans or finding comfort in another living being who actually understands what they went through.

Explanation:

I absolutely love the BBC show Merlin, it's sooo good. Rewatching it, however, and catching all those little hints about the Great Purge and the events leading up to and during it, I started wondering about all the other kingdoms mentioned in the show and why they were so anti-magic.

As far as I'm aware, the Great Purge started after Uther asked Nimueh for magical help to conceive an heir since the queen was barren. She told him the price would be a life so there would be balance, but he didn't understand or she didn't clarify that it was his wife who would die from this magic. Feeling tricked, he declared and began to see magic as evil and, thus, started the Great Purge. Up to this time magic supposedly had been free and plentiful among the people with many of the older members of the kingdom once having it or been close to someone who used it (i.e Gaius and all his old friends).

Because the Great Purge had essentially been started on a personal vendetta, I wondered how the other kingdoms were convinced to partake in this (for all intents and purposes) brutal and bloody genocide. Did they already hate magic and Uther was the hold out or did he have to convince them to continue the Purge in their own lands (I can't imagine it was easy to convince a ruler he needed to slaughter his own people)?

Whatever the case, I can't imagine there still aren't one or two (or several) kingdoms that still allow magic and are prosperous (i.e. not Cenred's kingdom), whether they hide this freedom or not. Or at the very least, there are many, many magical sympathizers in high places all around Albion.

Additionally, we all know Cenred is a ruthless and, quite frankly terrible, king so I also find it hard to believe that no one has ever tried to revolt or overthrow him. And in a land where magic is not illegal in the least, it would have a fairly decent chance of success (again: totally inept ruler, probably couldn't defend against an attack by his own people very well).

Prompt:

Cenred's kingdom is overthrown and under new leadership: a young (like 16 young, an actual child compared to other rulers), brazen queen who uses magic like it's second nature (it is). She is talented in magic (can be very or moderate, but does possess a good grasp on it) and terrifyingly cunning and smart. Having taken over the kingdom in a successful peasant revolt she led, she goes about fixing the problems of the kingdom in an often roundabout but very effective manner until she comes to the issue of foreign relations. Once she stabilizes the economy and leadership enough that it is no longer on the brink of collapse (as it was under Cenred's rule), she reaches out to other kingdoms and offers an alliance, especially the ones Cenred was on poor terms with before. The biggest of these is (you guessed it): Camelot.

Things to Include/Address:

- Can be during Uther's reign or Arthur's (I think Uther would be more fun, personally, just because you'd get to describe his reactions to this bull-headed queen who wants peace but practices magic (I mean he's so stubborn but tries to be good, I feel like it'd be hilarious to see the interactions)

- If you do Arthur's you can just pretend that Lot doesn't exist or that he was overthrown instead

- All of Camelot is soo confused when they get word of the revolt and the new leadership and think it must be false (no mere girl (not even a woman) could lead a revolt and a country) and are very surprised by the offer of peace and the Queen herself OR they don't hear about it at all and are super confused when the letter for a peace treaty comes in, followed by a young girl they've never heard of

- The Queen recognizes Merlin as Emrys and is very confused and slightly (really) amused at him being a servant in a kingdom that states that magic is illegal

- If he has to serve her during a banquet or something it would be fun to see her having a mental conversation with him and not showing it at all (keeping coversation up with the other guests/king, eating and drinking, smiling, etc) while he attempts not to react or spill anything while she says some really funny or sarcastic things/commentary on the other guests/etc (I imagine her to have a really dry, sarcastic wit and sense of humor (so not stupid, childish jokes))

- You could also do that she recognizes him because she is from Ealdor (which was in Cenred's kingdom, remember) and he babysat her or something when she was little

- During the peace talks they get through the no fighting each other/trade/financial/etc and Uther/Arthur brings up magic and the extradition of sorcerers/aid in hunting them/what punishment they prefer (ex: beheading or the pyre or an arrow, etc) and she gets indignant and cooly angry (again I see her as very controlled and logical) stating something like "I think there has been a misunderstanding. I do not intend to make magic illegal in my kingdom; it shall stay free as it always has been there. In fact, I practice magic myself." and while everyone is in shock and the guards are called to arrest her, etc she raises her hands "However, in accordance with your laws and respect to you and your people, I have not practiced magic since I stepped a single foot over the border of your kingdom, nor have I brought any magical items with me. What happens in my own kingdom, though, is, quite frankly, not your concern nor right to punish." and basically just (civilly and calmly) rips them to shreds

- No one knows how to deal with her and alternate between expecting her to be super ignorant of everything (because she was a commoner and half of them can't even read much less know proper etiquette) and being so surprised when she acts with all the grace of a natural born queen and even knows more than them about several topics AND forgetting that she was, in fact, a commoner at one point and is, thus, very independent and hardworking and knows how to do things all the knights and kings don't and, while she knows all the proper formalities, doesn't much care if someone (like the serving staff or something accidentally) forgoes those formalities (basically they're so surprised by how down to earth and chill she can be)

*The point of this prompt was basically to see Camelot (especially its royalty) struggling with the idea that all magic is evil, but not having jurisdiction in other countries and wanting peace (ie: they could excuse fighting magic in Cenred’s kingdom before because he was an evil and terrible ruler, but now they have no excuse and aren’t sure what to do because they don’t want to cooperate with a sorcerer at first but don’t want to rashly declare war either)

Explanation:

I’ve been REALLY in to BNHA lately (and have kinda been neglecting all my other fandoms because of it - oops) and have been binge-reading a bunch of fics while I wait for season 4 (I’M SO EXCITED WTF). Due to this, I’ve come across an extensive number of BNHA tropes and commonly done storylines. HOWEVER, the other day I read a series on AO3 with a storyline I hadn’t really seen before that centers around All Might and it was soooooo good. I don’t usually read teacher-centric fics but I could. Not. Stop. Reading. This. One.

A lot of authors, when they write about All for One, will usually either exclusively center on the villains or will have him kidnapp/target the students (almost exclusively Midoriya). But like, let’s not forget that All Might has been a far bigger thorn in All for One’s side for far longer than Midoriya (who just got One for All). It would still make a lot sense for All for One to want to go after All Might now that he’s practically defenseless (for revenge purposes, because he can, to get rid of him once and for all (heh get it For All), before he can pass on a lot of the info/experience he has to his successor, etc).

All Might almost single-handedly crippled All for One and, even if he’s not a huge threat anymore, I feel like All for One wouldn’t be like ‘ah c’est la vie! forgive, forget’ and just move on to the next goal. The story that I read took this into account and had All for One go after All Might (post-retirement) for two main reasons a) revenge and b) to further crush hero society by not only forcing their Symbol of Peace into retirement but by kidnapping and forcibly turning what was once the strongest hero into what will be the strongest villain - a Nomu.

This would be the ultimate revenge against a man who dedicated his entire life to fighting evil (and All for One in particular) - turning him into the very thing he’s fought against, bound and led by the man who he most hates.

I absolutely LOVED the story but when I went to go look for more like it, I couldn’t really find any. There are plenty of Midoriya-Nomu fics and lots of Bakugou-Nomu ones, but next to none for All Might (who, again, I feel like would still be a definite target for All for One). Thus, this prompt.

Prompt:

All for One decides to go after All Might (post-retirement) for the reasons listed above (I don’t want to type them out again lol) and tries to turn him into a Nomu. I think it would be better if he wasn’t fully successful (like he might have physically changed him and added new quirks and even made him a little unstable/prone to disassociative episodes but he didn’t quite get him to obey or completely lose himself the way the other Nomus were) because I love recovery fics, but that’s just me.

I LIVE for insecure hurt/comfort so I, personally, HIGHLY recommend him being rescued or escaping and then having to deal with his new life and (if applicable) All for One still going after him. Specifically him struggling with feeling like a monster/not himself/scaring others (not just cuz he looks different because there are plenty of mutant-type quirks but because of the trauma and triggers/instincts he’s still struggling with).

Everyone else is like ‘listen here you sad sunflower, sure you look a little different but you are still the same stupid, reckless, self-sacrificing idiot we all know and love. So get your head out of your a** and let us help you.’

Explanation:

I've always enjoyed a good time-travel fic. They have some really interesting plot lines and great character interactions. My favorite part of time-travel fics, though, aren't time-travel fix-its, but more the ones where someone from the future or past shows up and accidentally reveals things that shock everyone else. For example, if two mortal enemies get married one day and their kid shows up at a time when they still hate each other (this one is usually more funny), or if someone had a harsh past they keep hidden but a younger version of them accidentally gives it away (this is usually more hurt/comfort). Another one was if someone is shown what they will become one day and has to deal with that knowledge. This immediately got me thinking of Morgana since she was once a very kind and compassionate person who would have hated herself if she knew what she was going to become.

Prompt:

A time-travel fic that is not based on a fix-it (but can be if you want) where a younger version of Morgana shows up during the time when the current Morgana is constantly trying to kill Arthur. OR the reverse where an older, crazy Morgana shows up at a time when everything was (relatively) at peace and Morgana hadn't turned to the dark side yet, so to speak.

Things to Include/Address:

- The POVs (doesn't have to be first person, just be sure to address their feelings; I actually prefer third) of Arthur, Merlin, Gwen, Uther (if applicable), and most importantly Morgana herself (both versions would be fun)

- If it's a younger Morgana to future, address their conflicted emotions at having to distrust her and constantly be on guard with her versus their old feelings of friendship and love which she brings out

EX: Young Morgana's visions of the future show her what she becomes and what she will do as a possible future/if she continues down her path/gives in to guilt/etc. She then has to deal with the stress of having magic and not being able to control it and the fear of how it could corrupt her and any other revelations she might have gleaned (Uther's daughter, Arthur and Gwen, Merlin's magic, etc)

So I’ve been reading a lot of fics lately that have to do with social media and how it could affect the characters of BNHA (especially the students cuz like it’s SOCIAL MEDIA and they’re TEENAGERS). Usually they’re mostly comedic like if the students had YouTube/Twitter/Vine accounts or something and how the world reacts to them. They are usually REALLY funny and I love reading them but it got me thinking how the BNHA characters would react to the type of things we post about them.

Prompt:

Somehow a BNHA-centric Twitter account ends up on the internet in the BNHA universe and everyone at first finds it a little weird that people have an entire account dedicated to students but mostly find it funny. Soon, however, they begin to wonder where they get all the footage/audio and visuals from for these posts and begin to try to freak out because that’s a HUGE security risk.

And then the account posts stuff about the LoV and other sensitive topics and everyone has to deal with the fallout and the teachers are even more determined to find the person who’s doing this because a) they need to stop whoever it is and figure out how they’re spying on everyone all the time and b) see if they can use them to spy on the villains and get more intel from them.

I think it would be really funny if the account was just a meme account titled like 100%AccurateClass1A or something like that (if that’s anyone’s account name or something really similar, I literally just pulled that out of my a** and totally did not mean to steal your idea or anything) which posts a variety of funny content.

I think it would be better if there wasn’t really a focus on ships/romance cuz there’s so much more you can do with it and friendship/parental feels are already so much fun to write. It would also be more fun if it wasn’t just one type of post like only incorrect quotes/funny pics/headcannons/the characters as memes or vines but a mix of them so there’s more to react to.

Explanation:

So I really love watching the show/time travel/basically just characters learning about the lives (especially the depressing parts because that makes for the best angst) stories and recently I started getting into dimension travel fics. Of course, I immediately went and looked for some in all my favorite fandoms, but I was sorely disappointed when I got to BNHA. There are several I found, yes, but most of them focus on smut or have teacher/student relationships which is NOT OK in my book. Like that just makes me really uncomfortable, even if you change their ages. Thus, I decided that there needs to be more alternate dimension/dimension travel stories WITHOUT a huge focus on sex/smut/uncomfortable relationships.

Prompt:

A dimension travel fic where character(s) from an alternate dimension (it’d be more fun probably if it wasn’t just the prototype universe but something unique or different like if you have other stories you’ve written for the fandom and you do them traveling to the original BNHA universe or something) travel to the actual storyline (or something close to it) and confuse everyone/cause chaos by knowing just enough info to help out but no one knows what’s the same between universes.

Summary:

This is an idea I've had for a really long time and something I hope to one day create an entire multi-fandom series based off of. However, life has been getting in the way of a lot of my current stories already, so I thought I'd at least put the idea out there now since I might not get to writing it for a really long time. I hope you enjoy it, or at least think it's an intriguing concept!

This prompt is a little different from the others in that it's not exactly a prompt and more a vague outline for a story I someday want to write, so just keep that in mind when reading

Explanation/Thought Process:

Let's be honest, most of us really enjoy hurting the characters we love, or at the very least enjoy a good angst or hurt/comfort story every once in a while as a sort of cathartic experience. This is basically me just playing on the observation that most writers and readers of fanfiction enjoy stories where their favorite characters go through immense trauma or pain and writing it in a way that shows what it would seem like to the characters themselves.

Essentially, the premise is “what if every time we read/write a fanfic staring our favorite character(s), they would have to live through or experience the story as well”. The stories don’t actually affect the main timeline/universe but rather are similar to a pocket dimension where they go before returning to almost the exact time and place as they left (think Narnia).

They see the authors/readers as otherworldly/all-powerful beings who use them for their own amusement and claim to love them or value them above others, but regularly put them through intense suffering, more so than any other ‘character’. Also, anyone who isn’t a ‘Librarian’ will not know about the readers/authors and simply go about living their daily lives.

As of right now, I'm thinking of only having one Librarian per universe (fandom) and even have a few picked out. Some of the stories will be about how the Librarians were chosen/discovered they were chosen, how other people explain the change in the Librarians (because you can't start going through highly traumatic experiences on a regular basis without at least some changes in behavior), etc.

*Side note: I'm still deciding if I want physical effects such as injuries sustained during the 'Reading'/travel to the pocket dimension to be carried back to the main universe in any way (phantom pains, scars, partly healed wounds, exactly the same as the wounds they suffered in the story, etc)*

I even have an idea for how the Librarians are kept from telling people about their 'jobs' (aside from the shame/embarrassment/blow to their pride, knowledge that everyone would probably think they're crazy, knowledge/threat that the Archivist was an all-powerful being who, if She could create alternate dimensions on a whim, could just erase people's memories or kill them on the spot). Basically, any time they tried to talk about Her/got too close to discussing sensitive information/basically said anything She didn't like, their mouths would slowly start getting sewn shut (haven't decided if the needle and thread will be invisible and/or intangible yet). I think I'll probably do something like one stitch for each word they say about Her/their job or where if they stop talking it stops sewing, but if they continue it'll keep sewing at the same speed they're talking (so talking really fast wouldn't work).

I've come up with a couple scenes where this comes into play. Most notably one where concerned adults start asking a Librarian questions about their sudden change and they keep pushing them off until they lose their temper at the repetitiveness of the questions and accidentally shout something they shouldn't have.

Nothing else about the series is really set in stone yet, but this is an idea I'm really, really excited about, although I'm not sure when I'll finally find the time to start actually writing it.

My (rough) Synopsis for the Series:

There are millions of millions of universes and worlds out there, and within each of these realms, there are stories. Stories of the people, the history, the past, the future. All of these stories are collected and compiled into one enormous library run by a mysterious, otherworldly being.

She is called by many names, though most commonly She is known as The Archivist, and Her followers: The Librarians. Her library is vast and all encompassing, filled with stories of the lives, and deaths, of all manner of beings. Bright stories full of love and light. Dull stories full of boring little moments, often overlooked.

Her favorites though, the ones She most enjoys writing down and storing for later use, are the ones of pain. The ones of darkness and death and those broken and beaten and who struggle just to get through the day. The people featured in these stories, the ‘characters’ so to speak, win Her favor in a way that one wouldn’t wish on even the cruelest of enemies. They become her champions, her soldiers, her Librarians, her slaves.

Each world has one: a Librarian. Their job is to seek out, find, retrieve, and collect all the best stories of their world, the ones She will most enjoy. Despite the supposed honor, power, protection, benefits that one might assume would come with being a favored of an omniscient being, day after day, these Librarians suffer immense emotional, physical, and mental trauma under Her ‘tender’ care.

Explanation:

So watching the prequel movies, trainwreck though they are, Qui-Gon Jinn is just kinda there; most don’t really care about him other than he was the one who trained so Obi-Wan, especially kids. I know when I first watched them when I was like ten I didn’t really notice him except for how he affected my favorite characters.

When you watch TPM when you’re young, however, you also don’t really think much of the Council scene where Jinn vows to train Anakin besides confusion at why Obi-Wan wasn’t going to train him. As you get older, however, and rewatch that scene you can pick up the undertones and implications of what actually happened and react accordingly. When I watched that scene and realized that Jinn was essentially like ‘Oh well, I like Anakin better and you won’t let me have them both so. . . I guess Obi-Wan just has to move on now,’ I got so upset. That may be a bit of an exaggeration, but is still pretty accurate as far as the audience is aware.

This realization made me look deeper into Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan’s relationship, however, so I read TJA series and, suffice to say, was less than pleased with what I found. Jinn may seem like an okay, for the most part, guy in the movies, but he is such an a**hole in the books! Like oh my gosh, the man had serious issues and should not have been given care of a child. Granted, much of it may have been due to the trauma of his last Padawan, but that still doesn’t excuse the, quite frankly, awful way he treated both his first Padawan and Obi-Wan.

From the very start, Bandomeer, through Melida/Daan, his consideration of Bant, Tahl’s death, his constant undermining of the Unifying Force, all the way to Anakin and Obi-Wan’s recommendation for his trials, he did not act in a way befitting a caregiver or guardian. If Social Services existed in the Star Wars universe, they would have intervened, hell the Council should have intervened! He essentially repudiated Feemor and Obi-Wan because he had no use for them anymore and seemed to be of the train of thought ‘out of sight out of mind.’

And there are other, much more concerning hints at what their relationship was like in both the books and movies, such as when Obi-Wan APOLOGIZES for DISAGREEING with him. Like, for some reason, Obi-Wan felt it was necessary for him to ask forgiveness for a difference of opinion with a man who, for all intents and purposes, had just cast him aside for the shiny new toy (Anakin).

Also, Jinn’s obsession with Anakin pissed me off. Yes, Anakin was a prodigy and, with proper training, had the potential to become amazing. HOWEVER, he was VERY emotional and had a lot of anger, even more so than Obi-Wan when Jinn rejected him (repeatedly) for that EXACT THING!

Essentially, Jinn was a huge d**k and Obi-Wan’s apprenticeship much have been hell (even if he won’t admit it, even to himself). I also sincerely doubt that anyone knows the extent to which Kenobi’s life sucked, because, let’s be honest, he’s more the ‘pretend everything’s ok and maybe it will be one day’ rather than the ‘sharing is caring’ kind of guy.

Prompt:

There are two ways this can go:

1.

A time-travel fic where Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan travel to the future during the Clone Wars and meet everyone. Everyone is so excited to maybe be able to change the past and also see what Qui-Gon was like and what Obi-Wan was like as a kid (because, again, Obi-Wan isn’t really the sharing type).

They are, therefore, shocked when Jinn acts very dismissive and cold towards Obi-Wan and Obi-Wan just. . . rolls with it. They start freaking out (212th, 501st, Anakin, Ahsoka, Council, etc) and try to step in or tell Obi-Wan that he doesn’t have to put up with it and Obi-Wan is just really confused and averse to it (because it’s always been that way and Jinn has done nothing wrong and he deserves whatever happens because he’s emotional and disobedient).

OR 2.

Just Jinn can time travel and he acts that way toward grown Obi-Wan and everyone is like ‘WTF WHY ARE YOU PUTTING UP WITH THIS’ and watch as one of the strongest people they know (someone who’s faved down countless enemies, Sith Lords, certain death, unspeakable torture and never faltered) crumble before their very eyes (by the man who raised him no less)!

A Scene I Desperately Want To See:

Basically after Obi-Wan does something incredible in battle (can be the older one or younger) and everyone is in awe Jinn comes up, in the middle of the camp/ship/whatever (essentially just in front of all his men and Anakin and Ahsoka), and starts tearing him down (not yelling, more like holier-than-thou nitpicking and degrading comments that he genuinely doesn’t see as wrong) and Obi-Wan goes from this strong, straight-backed, determined figure to a slumped, holding back tears, meak, accommodating/unassuming/trying to sink into the ground/hide in his robes figure and everyone is like WTF?!? and Obi-Wan just wants to leave and have everyone leave them alone because, even after everything, Jinn is/was still his Master and he knows better and Obi-Wan loves him (platonically).

Try to Address TJA stuff if you can:

-Bandomeer

-Melida/Daan

-How Obi-Wan thinks (and probably Qui-Gon who certainly didn’t dissuade the thought) that he was the one who was responsible for Tahl’s death

- How Jinn started considering Bant/giving her attention after Melida/Daan

-How Jinn constantly rebuked Obi-Wan’s gift in the Unifying Force and tried to make him something he wasn’t

And:

-His (essentially) repudiation of Obi-Wan in favor of Anakin

-Him caring about/being nicer to/praising/lavishing attention on Anakin over Obi-Wan and constantly down-playing/overlooking/degrading Obi-Wan and his accomplishments and using him as an example of what not to do and saying it was amazing Anakin turned out as well as he did with Obi-Wan for a Master

-Telling stories of all of Obi-Wan’s mistakes and all his failures in the past (to Obi-Wan and others)

So I was rereading some of my favorite Clone War fics and any one with Obi-Wan/Satine angst seemed to be centered around them struggling with their feelings and everyone else not noticing or thinking they’re secretly in a relationship/Korkie is their kid/etc. And then I was on YouTube and a trailer for Five Feet Apart showed up and I cried and it was beautiful and oh my gosh, but anyway it inspired me to think of what would that be like for them, but like without the disease. They are both so dedicated to their duty, I can totally see them voluntarily doing stuff like that (and using titles instead of first names and stuff) to keep a clear head and avoid temptation.

Prompt:

Deciding that their responsibilities are more important than their personal feelings or happiness (because they both have little to no sense of self-interest, especially Kenobi) they mutually agree to always act in the highest sense of propriety and formality with each other (no first names, no private meetings, no shared jokes, essentially acting like strangers) and ALWAYS maintain a minimum distance of five feet apart.

Things to Include:

- Their feelings on the matter (longing, sadness, determination, fear that one day it won’t be enough to keep them from doing something that could affect their jobs)

- Everyone else’s reactions (Padme, Mon, Bail, Jedi, Anakin, Cody and men, Ahsoka, random outsider, etc)

- You can do everyone thinking they hate each other and try to figure out why and get them to reconcile OR you can have everyone see their longing and wonder how and why they can still be apart

- Someone talking to them/confronting them about it and their reaction to having to explain it (or refusing to explain)

- How they came to this agreement in the first place
