•18-Volt sat on the swing set in the park, having been practicing his word flow. His boom box sat in it’s usual place on his shoulder and he tried to give a good verse…

“Spittin’ bars like I ate somethin’ bad, hittin’ em hard like I just got… mad? Ugh…”

•The oversized kid shook his head in frustration. He had been stuck in a sort of ‘rapper’s block’ for a good 3 days now- he couldn’t get a verse out without feeling that it lacked a certain heat that his freestyles usually were teeming with!

•18-Volt was soon brought out of his negative thinking once the ape had approached, however. His heart skipped a beat— it was one of his favorite ‘Nintendo All-Stars,’ Donkey Kong! Er- well, one of the alternate DK’s anyway! It didn’t matter much to him— a DK was a DK! No more, no less!

“H-Hey! Um, yeah, totally! Wait- I mean—“

•The boy had cut himself off— He couldn’t let the ape listen to him when his raps were falling flatter than a pancake on a kitchen floor… But he had already told him ‘yes!’ Crud!!

This Kong looked a bit concerned when the youth started to falter. Were they doing alright? He gotta ask!

“Yo, you alright man? Didn’t mean to throw you off the beat! My bad!”

Now the Ebony Kong wasn’t too sure on what made a proper “rap” but it was a bit of an instinct to enjoy those sort of tunes considering his template. Still, something about this youth had a certain vigor he liked to see. Wanting do to their best, that was a feeling this ape aspired to see in all.

•18-Volt noticed the Kong boppin’ to his beats. It kinda got him thinking...

“Hey, do you wanna try spittin’ a bar or two? If you don’t know how— it’s pretty easy! Just think of somethin’ to rap about, and then put that somethin’ into words!”

The ebony clone of Donkey Kong was jogging, training for the upcoming tournaments, and the current ongoing battles. Sure he couldn’t get faster than he is, but it was important to be able to keep that speed at all time.

But then he paused, hearing a funky beat in the air. Words with a good flow were bouncing to the beat. He headed towards that direction, finding a hip guy, wearing a cool green suit.

Being the bodybuilding superstar that he was, Mr. Sparkles raked in some DOUGH. He didn’t mind that though, he really enjoyed what he did; spreading joy to Diamond City, and helping people achieve physical bliss like him. However nothing truly made him happier than his family. They were the reason he truly Sparkled so brightly!

Arriving at his home after a long day, he noticed his son was home probably playing some sort of Nintendo Game as he always did. With a smile, he approached his child and boisterously did what all dads do.

“ HEY THERE, Champ! Ah, you’re playing Mario Kart again! Good to know you’re playing as King Boo, son! Because I sure think you’re Bootiful! Hahaha! “ 

•18-Volt let out a startled noise, accidentally launching his controller across the room. He couldn’t help but stiffen up as he heard it hit a lamp, a loud crash being heard soon afterwards.

“Aww, next week? Well… I guess I can wait until then… Since ya’ seem to be needin’ to prep yourself for my super hot rhymes, heh!”

“Well, it took a lotta practice with coming up with good rhymes of the spot! And then ya’ sorta get used to it, y’know?”

“Ohh, I gotcha…”

•18-Volt decisively didn’t trudge too deep into Ana playing in with Kat in the past. He had heard recently that she was sort of upset over the absence of her dear sister, so he instead decided to play more into the latter topic of 9-Volt’s Mom being so good at the game.

“Yeah, definitely! No doubt she plays it whenever 9-Volt’s at school or hangin’ with me… For a Mom, she sure does know her videogames, y’know?”

“Uh huh! A-And she’s really good at a lot of games too! Beating high scores a-and the tougher enemies when we were playing!”

“Heh, yeah...”

•18-Volt took a second to look over at the sunset. It was quite a pretty scene to take in! Especially with how the clouds turned a very light yellow color.

It was an interesting round of 4 Swords Adventures, as 9-Volt had felt like digging up a classic. Admittedly Ana may be incorrect in remembering 4-Swords Adventures as the game that was only on the GBA, linked by a cable, and not to the Cube. But the controls were the same, and that helped Ana through some parts! As Kat was …still somewhere out in the mountains, 9-Volt’s mom volunteered to step in.

“Ohh, I gotcha...”

The two kids were heading home for the day after spending some time with 5-Volt and 9-Volt. But when they happened upon a crosswalk, 18-Volt had offered his hand to Ana, as it was safer to cross the street while holding hands!

Of course, the little ninja didn’t object to this notion, as she held out her small hand to the large elementary student.

“No prob’!”

•After taking one last second to look both ways- just to make sure- he quickly crossed the street with Ana. Due to the rather big difference in heights, he had to slightly hunch over just to hold the kindergarteners hand, but he didn’t mind!
