"it's ok to show (x) in fiction as long as the bad guy gets punished!" the bad guy doesn't have to get punished. in fact the bad guy can win altogether. the bad guy can entirely get away with it. hope this helps
and this part might make some people's head explode but: characters can be written to forgive things you personally wouldn't ever forgive. not everything is written as what you'd perceive to be the right choice. not everything is a self-insert & protagonists don't have to be relatable.

I find calligraphy and practicing your handwriting to be a really good hobby for anxiety. It is frustrating when you fuck up but it doesnāt matter because youāre just making shapes and words on a piece of paper until you get better. Itās fun to practice with different pens and markers and try different scripts. You can do this while watching TV or listening to music or just sitting in silence. Low pressure if you practice with affordable materials and work your way up.
Iāve always been reluctant to try this because I have a tremor in my hands. Do you think thereās a way around that? Iād love for my handwriting to be nicer
Given that she was originally āCainabethā I feel like I donāt see enough speculation about how Corona will prove herself to be the worse twin.
The problem in speculating about Corona is that her motivations often feel inscrutable, so trying to make predictions about what she's gonna do is just plain iffy. We simply don't have reliable sources as to who Corona actually is deep down. We mainly see her through the narration of Gideon, Nona, and Judith, none of whom are unbiased reporters at the best of time, and all three have too many feelings about her to make an accurate character judgement, anyway. Ianthe tells us plenty about Corona, but not only is she majorly biased, too, the twins spend so much time manipulating each other and covering for each other's lies as to make either of them an untrustworthy character reference for the other, whether intentionally or not.
Some things we do know about Corona:
she is not above abusing people she has power over
she has quite a bit of experience pulling off a con
if she's loyal to anybody, she's loyal to Ianthe -- but I don't think we can actually say for sure she's loyal to Ianthe, so, in effect, she's loyal to nobody
she has plans of some form involving Judith Deuteros
As for what that means going forward? Idk. She'll be up to something in AtN. I suspect it will be Bad. But I don't even know that for certain.
She s fascinating. The way I see her, for what's worth, is as someone with a life-long identity crisisāsomeone who's been asked to only ever be what others need to be, and who therefore views her own inner desires and needs as more dangerous and hard to grasp, as she's had to keep all that in the dark and hasn't had appropriate people with whom in interact in a healthy way that would help her define her own self-understanding. Her sense of self tremendously unstable unless she finds some social niche she can inhabit, or some role to play with someone.
(This is a trait often associated with BPD, which in this context unavoidably reminds me of that meme that goes āyes i have bpd. beautiful princess disorder.ā)
She's aware of this! As Yet Unsent, while filtered through Judith (who is at least trying not to be ādiscursiveā), contains some very interesting nuggets:

There's a recurring idea she brings upāthat she was meant to rule, and that she's afraid of āwhat throneā she will mount.
āShe said she had groomed herself for something and all it had done was make her unfit for the purpose. What purpose?ā
And then, closer to the end:
I said I was just an administrator; she was a princess. A king. She said there was no king but the Emperor. I said her problem was a lack of job opportunities. She laughed a little and said, Too right.
She has been groomed for one thing, and that is leadership. She always seeks others that she can contrast with herself to develop as a person, but she is also incapable of not trying to get power over them, which surely leads to decreased stability?
At the same time, she's derided by both Judith and Ianthe for caring about other people and being easily moved by greater notions of ethicsāshe wants thinks to be better, and she wants to be in charge of that. She has a rich relationship with leading and following, and couples with cavalier standards she probably envisions herself as leading in a āservant to the peopleā way (whereas Ianthe just wants the boot, and she wouldn't have the charisma to pull off anything else).
Her main conflict is that she lacks the strength to pursue that path on her own so long as Ianthe is there, and she seems to be troubled by her own capability for evil.
I fully expected her arc to go somewhere like making her a big BoE leader tbh. After all, she's already risen in their ranks from hostage to double-agent and leader of Troia cell, which is a subsection of Ctesiphon wing, which after the events of NtN will be the faction of BoE that succesfully carried out Wake's plan to open the Tomb. BoE could do with another very impassioned, charismatic leader.
Given Ianthe has been telling us since GtN that she's been looking into the Resurrection, many of us believe her intention is to replace God. Ianthe presumably wanted to discover lyctorhood for the both of themāand then she spends HtN trying to figure out other ways to induce stasis and keep tissue immortal. In NtN, they're ācloser to the goal than ever beforeā and Ianthe says āI fully intend for us to be us, together, nowā¦ but I have the framework for it.ā And Ianthe has been looking at the use of planetary soulsā¦
Tamsyn said she has one āmagnificently shittyā thing left to do in Alecto:
āIanthe will be awful. Ianthe will reach new heights of being absolutely goddamn dreadful. [ā¦] I was thinking about one specific magnificently shitty thing Ianthe does in Alecto, just, the dumbest and pettiest thing I am setting her up to do, and although she is still bad in Nona ā spoiler: you do get to spend some time with Ianthe in Nona ā I would say her badness, although grim, is within expected parameters of Ianthe.ā

Ultimately, I think the big question for Corona isāwill she dare to abandon Ianthe? Cain betrayed Abel. Will Ianthe have devoted her entire life to their plan, and given up her own sense of self, only to be rejected at the finish line? Or will Coronabeth betray Blood of Eden and everyone in the universe to stay with Ianthe?
The one other person Coronabeth consistently cares about, too, is Judith. If Judith has survived her last brush with Varun and figures in Alecto, I suspect she might play an important role here. Between Ianthe, Blood of Eden, and Judith, who will Corona betray?

Shitty Character Concept: A dragon whose hoard is books, so instead of princesses, the dragon kidnaps librarians to help organize them and keep them in good condition. Once the librarians realize the dragon is not trying to kill them, the dragon is suddenly overrun with librarians who treat the hoard as an archive and a vacation of sorts. They even bring books to add to the hoard! The dragon is so very happy with the hoard of books and the horde of librarians to hang out with
This is very similar to parts of Dragon Slippers, my favorite book as a kid. A characteristic of its dragons is that they all hoard different, specific things, but unfortunately the one that hoards books and the one that gets people to help manage their collection are different
Iām going to try a new antidepressant after being on Zoloft since I was 14 (and coming to the conclusion it is not working anymore) (Iāve tried other antidepressants and had them not work, Zoloft has been the only thing that has kinda helped) so everyone wish me luck and if youāre a praying person, consider putting in a good word for me. Iāve been in an extreme depressive episode for months and itās to the point where Iām less afraid of having a terrible reaction and possibly ending up in the psych ward than continuing on this way.
Iāve also been going off of Zoloft and into a replacement for the last couple of weeks, hopefully it goes well for both of us
