other days her mother's death feels so stale. that same bread was now hard and forgotten and disregarded on the counter. the pain isn’t there anymore, her life goes on, nothing aches. she still feels empty, but she fills it with other things. manga, dresses, pink ribbon tied into bows. collecting, collecting, collecting. filling, filling, filling. 

when she was little, she longed for a father that loved her. years later, she found her surrogate, her adoptive father. He replaced the awful and terrible man that her mother had loved and she did not feel sad. when she was little, natsuki longed for a mother who didn’t die. years later, she still has not found a replacement. how can you replace something when you don’t know what it is?
