              HIS GAZE REMAINS BLANK, as it most often is, though his hands briefly twitch at his sides. ❛ just kaeya, ❜ he repeats quietly, as if not entirely convinced himself. it is not that he dislikes the knights’ cavalry captain, mind you. only that people like kaeya alberich are as unreadable to him as the great mysteries of hydromancy to anyone but mona megistus, and that albedo is too used to seeing opaqueness as a veil to be ripped off the face of the world to reveal its truth to appreciate it in people.

it isn’t difficult to pick up on the slight twitch of hands, the low utterance of phrase; his eye lingers over every minute detail presented.  the corners of his lips curl into a smirk, no effort made to mask it from view.  he can’t help the amusement that festers within him; albedo’s lackluster reaction intrigues the cavalry captain to no end.  likely because it is so different from what kaeya tends to elicit from others.  absent is the usual unease, or irritation, or anger          there is only the urge to decipher.  to understand.  in that sense, at least, they’re similar; only albedo seeks to unravel mysteries for the sake of knowledge itself, whilst kaeya does so to see what he can use to his advantage.
