𝔯𝔢𝔮𝔲𝔦𝔢𝔪.

It was fall when Romilly moved to the island and there was something anguishing in it, anxiety tying their inside into knots. One year without even a chapter written, a reality that was impossible to push from their mind. Romi had gone for a walk, something they did daily but this time, they settled near the shore, gaze literally lost at sea. It wasn’t until they finally got up to make her way back into town that they realized they weren’t alone. “It’s a beautiul view,” she mused aloud. Apparently not beautifull enough to help with her writer’s block. “It’s so peaceful here.” It had taken them some adjustement at first, like the dead quiet of the night making her unable to sleep.

HAVING  GROWN  UP  PRACTICALLY  ON  the  doorstep  of  the  sea,  eren  was  somewhat  fond  of  being  near  the  water.  when  he'd  moved  to  sematary  as  a  young  boy  he'd  found  himself  relieved  to  be  living  only  a  stone's  throw  away  from  yet  another  body  of  water.  he'd  always  found  solace  in  walking  along  the  shoreline  —  believed  there  to  be  certain  unseen  healing  properties  in  the  atmosphere  there.  having  just  clocked  off  work  at  the  garage,  eren  opted  to  cut  across  the  seafront;  soaking  in  the  fresh  night  air  and  the  sound  of  the  waves  rolling  in  the  distance.  if  it  weren't  for  their  voice  floating  easily  in  the  stillness,  the  male  may  have  failed  to  take  notice  of  the  other.  he  halts  in  his  tracks  then,  dark  eyes  regarding  the  person  who  stood  mere  feet  from  him.  with  a  quiet  hum  and  a  nod  of  agreement,  eren's  attention  is  once  again  captured  by  the  view  stretched  out  before  him.  “  yeah,  it  is  ...  though  i  guess  it  also  has  the  potential  to  be  incredibly  eerie  at  certain  hours  of  night.  ”

    ‘  could  be   worse  ,  ‘  holland murmured as he looked down into his coffee cup . granted , it wasn’t horrible but he had definitely tasted better coffee but for now , it would definitely do . he glanced up , watching his employer’s children off to the side sitting at their own table because they wanted to feel like grown ups but were still in eye shot of holland . maybe going to the coffee shop under the guise of just getting them hot chocolate seemed like a sweet idea but it was also an excuse to get out of the house even if sematary never had much to offer for anyone let alone him . 

A  SMALL  CHUCKLE  TUMBLES  PAST  eren's  lips  upon  picking  up  the  mumbled  comment  made  by  the  man  sat  nearby.  “  but  could  be  better ?  ”  he  quips  back,  quirking  an  eyebrow  in  the  direction  of  the  other.  not  much  of  a  coffee  person,  the  mechanic  is  nursing  a  steaming  mug  of  tea  in  calloused  hands,  heat  bleeding  into  his  palms.  “  maybe  next  time  try  the  tea  instead ?  ”  at  that,  his  line  of  vision  wanders  off  to  pay  a  quick  glimpse  toward  the  children;  their  whispers  and  laughter  grasping  hold  of  his  attention.  “  or  follow  the  lead  of  the  kids  and  stick  with  hot  chocolate.  that's  always  a  winner.  ”

𝙡𝙤𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 : the church 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚 : late evening 𝙖𝙫𝙖𝙞𝙡𝙖𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮 : open 

vivenne was working another long night, anything to distract her from the nothing that were her days. with it being another weekday the crowd was slow. after cleaning up the back for what seemed like her fifth time that night, she decided to spark conversation with a familiar face. ‘ hey. ’, she said, throwing a rag over her shoulder. ‘ y’know that whole thing about how some people have a monologue or an voice in their head narrating things they’re doing or whatever ? who would you cast as your narrator ? ’ , she asked the first question that popped in her head. 

THE  UNEXPECTED  SOUND  OF  THE  voice  addressing  her  is  quick  to  pique  sahira's  interest;  inky  pupils  drifting  up  to  meet  the  woman  who  stood  before  her.  while  her  rose-pink  lips  part  to  utter  a  response,  they  remain  agape  momentarily  as  she  internally  mulls  over  her  answer.  admittedly,  it  was  a  rather  odd  question  —  albeit  interesting  nonetheless.  for  a  brief  second,  a  frown  takes  formation  upon  sahira's  face,  twitching  in  towards  the  centre  of  her  brow  upon  her  recognition  of  her  blank  mind.  until,  in  a  flash,  it  hits  her  and  her  mouth  shifts  into  one  closely  mirroring  an  amused  smile.  “  i've  got  it  now.  you  know  that  british  guy ?  the  one  who  does  the  commentary  for  all  those  nature  documentaries ?  ”  the  brunette  pauses  then,  humming  in  a  fleeting  thought.  “  david  attenborough,  that's  his  name !  anyways,  yeah,  i'd  pick  him  ...  who  would  you  cast ?  ”

     ‘  well  ,  it  is  pumpkin  spice  season .  might  see  more  of  me  after  all . ‘ granted , it wasn’t like sematary was the coffee capital of the world but there were a few things that got kieran outside of their home and coffee was definitely one of them and also the fact that they actually had a business to run but kieran didn’t actively go into town unless they absolutely needed to . it was just better in the long run that way .

A  SMALL  HUM  OF  AVERSION  echoes  inside  her  throat,  the  crinkling  of  her  nose  further  emphasising  the  disinclination  she  feels  at  the  statement  spoken  by  the  other.  “  something  i'll  never  understand  is  all  this  hype  around  pumpkin  spice,  ”  sahira  comments  in  return,  her  dark  eyes  flicking  toward  her  present  company.  “  but,  to  each  their  own,  i  guess.  ”  a  slender  shoulder  rises  and  falls  in  a  slight  shrug  then.  “  gingerbread  lattes  are  a  personal  favourite  this  time  of  year.  it’s  like  drinking fall  from  a  disposable  cup.  ”
