Hanekoma chuckled and started making the coffee, “Oh right, sorry. I’ve been aware of the situation goin’ on with the UG for a while. I couldn’t do anything back then, but I kept an eye on things. I guess… You could probably call me a friend of the Composer’s.”

He spoke over his shoulder, as casually as if he were talking about the weather, and most of his attention was on the task at hand. It hadn’t quite occurred to him that Rindo might be weary of those that were associated with the Game, but that did make sense, didn’t it? After everything this kid had gone through, it was only natural that he should be nervous. And maybe associating with Joshua right out of the gate wasn’t the smartest decision after all. So he decided to backpedal a little bit.

“What I mean to say is that I have a role in the Reaper’s Game, too. I’m a guardian that looks after reapers an’ makes sure they’re followin’ the rules. You asked for chocolate muffins? I should have some left… Anyway, point bein’ that I’m already aware of who ya are. But no worries, boss, I’m not your enemy.”

That really didn’t help his unease. He watches Hanekoma with a new look of caution, not moving to sit – but not exactly moving to leave either. That damn indecision. Rindo glanced toward the door, just making sure that the escape route was still secured before Hanekoma continued.

“… Okay …”

While he still wasn’t completely sure about the other’s position, at least he had more information than before. He nods a bit with the inquiry about the pastry and slowly moves to sit at the bar, head lulling slightly a bit.

That little comment about his hair color catches her off guard; she feigns a dramatic, surprised gasp. “You’re not?” She’s all too incredulous for something so simple: “But it looks so natural! Do you go to a salon, or do you dye it yourself?” Or, who knows, maybe Fret did it—that seemed within his skill set… and interests. Literally she was going to have so much fun with these boys. “Neku bleaches his hair, but I was able to tell from day one ‘cause he lets his roots grow too long. You had me totally convinced!” 

As she pesters him, she reaches out adjusting the collar to sit a little more tidy with his undershirt, like a mother doting on her son for school picture day. “It does!” She nods to his inquiry, “You’re so,” cute precious, adorable, “youthful—but you also have a boyish charm!” And it certainly worked in his favor!

She hums a bit, backing up to examine him like some… helpless specimen, passing judgement as though she herself were the God of Shibuya’s living befallen. Unfortunately she’s as merciless as the real deal. “Yeah, I know ripped jeans are a ‘style’, but I always get a little irritated when I see them!” A sweet, threatening comment she provides no context for, “I think we definitely need to get you a nice new pair—oh! Or maybe some shorts?” That would be cute, right?

Allow her to be more direct: “That’ll be sure to impress Shoka.”

The dramatic gasp would make Rindo turn toward her with a jump, before realizing and giving her a look. There was no reason to be so dramatic about the fact. He would fiddle with the blonde strands, glancing back toward Shiki with a hum, “ Myself. I usually keep up with it. Fret helped me the first time, but I usually keep up with the upkeep myself. ” Hey, at least it seems the upkeep was doing good for him. A smile, and he nods, “ Yeah, if my roots show they usually get on my nerves so I fix them before anyone can really notice … ”

He leans back a bit as his collar is adjusted, raising an eyebrow at the compliments that she showered him with. Was this a trick just to keep up with her dress up doll hobbies ? Either way, the term youthful would earn her a puzzled look, but he did not have time to mention it before she was pulling away to examine his clothes.

Only for him to get unfortunately nervous with the way she tore apart ( verbally ) his style in jeans. Though, the nerves would quickly evaporate at the potential of shorts.

“ Shorts with a sweater ? I’m not really sure if that would be my style …” That seemed more … youthful then he was.
