It has been a while, I know. I don’t have any ideas…. So… I’m going to do a quick pull.

So, I recently started writing a story, it’s called Books and Needles, and the first chapter is available on AO3! The year is 1856 in London, in a small coffeehouse, four women meet up and discuss politics over sewing pins and hidden pamphlets! It’s a little gay, political, and historical! Ruben, du dog i Tisdags. Jag saknar dig redan, mer än du vet. Du inspirerade mig att fortsätta tälja. Att drömma om en framtid som snickare. Du fick det att kännas verkligt.

Jag minns när vi träffades första gången. Tälj evenemanget i Solberga skolans matsal. Jag var så nervös, men mamma sa att du var snäll, och hon hade rätt. Snäll, klok, rolig och inspirerande.

Och så var det de där fantastiska trollstavarna… alltid trollstavar. Jag ska fortsätta med det, nu när du inte kan. Nu när du gått till andra sidan.

Och när jag sitter där och täljer, med en bit björk trä i hand, så kommer du väl sitta där? Hummande på en tonlös melodi, som en klippa, fast och stadig. Jag ska fortsätta, för alltid.

Så, vila i frid, kära vän.

Hejdå, Ruben. Jag kommer aldrig glömma dig.

Dear Ruben.

Ruben, you died on Tuesday. I miss you already, more than you know. You inspired me to keep carving. To dream of a future as a carpenter. You made it feel real.

I remember when we first met. The carving event in the Solberga school cafeteria. I was so nervous, but mom said you were kind, and she was right. Kind, wise, funny and inspiring.

And then there were those amazing wands… always wands. I will continue with it, now that you can’t. Now that you have gone to the other side.

And when I sit there carving, with a piece of birch wood in my hand, will you sit there? Humming to a toneless melody, like a rock, solid and steady. I will continue, forever.

So, rest in peace, dear friend.
