事務所をやめてはじめて、年齢相応のことをしました I acted my age for the first time after quitting the agency

私は、小学2年生のときからダンスを習ってました。「芹佳は体がやわらかいから」っていう理由で、お母さんが入れてくれたんです。ダンスの発表会にも出るようになって、ステージに立つ楽しさを知りました。 I’ve studied dancing since I was in the 2nd grade of Elementary. “It’s because Serika has a flexible body” that is the reason that my Mom enrolled me. I also appeared on a dance recital, I learned the joy of standing on the stage. 　 そのスクールは、ファッションショーやモデルのコンテストもたくさん主催してました。私もダンスを続けながら、ショーに出させてもらいました。コンテストで2年連続、決勝まで進んで、賞をもらったこともあります。 That school had a lot of sponsorship from fashion shows and model contests. I also appeared on those shows while continuing to dance. I got to the finals of the contest for 2 straight years and received an award. 　 小5のときには、テレビ番組の「スター☆ドラフト会議」に出場しました。このとき、たくさんの審査員の方が札をあげてくださって、ある事務所に入ることになりました。「スタドラ」は全国放送やったから、チーム8のメンバーの中にも、このとき私のことを見てくれてたっていう子が何人かいます。 When I was a 5th grader, I competed on 「Star☆Draft Kaigi」TV show. At that time, a lot of the judges raised my number, and I managed to enter an agency. Because「SutaDora」was shown across the country, there’s a lot of people including a few team 8 members who saw me during that time. 　 でも、結局1年でやめました。このころはダンスもやめてたので、ほんまにヒマになりました。中学に入ってからは、学校の友だちと放課後に遊びに行ったり、はじめて年齢相応のことをしました。だけど、それまでモデルをやらせてもらったりテレビに出たりしてたので、なにもやってない自分のことが悲しくなってきて。そんなとき、チーム8のオーディションを受けたんです。 But in the end I stopped after a year. I also stopped dancing during that time, I really got nothing to do. Since I entered Middle School, I went to play after school with my friends, it was the first time that I acted my age. But, because I was a model and appeared on TV, I felt sad looking at me that was doing nothing. At that time, I took the audition for Team 8. 　 私はモデルにあこがれてたので、アイドルに対してそんなにイメージがあったわけではないです。でも、チーム8はトヨタさんがサポートしてるって知って、運命を感じました。私の「セリカ」という名前は、トヨタの名車の名前と一緒なんです。しかも、オーディションを受けたときのエントリーナンバーは、「8」でした。 Even though I looked up to models, I don’t have an image of what an Idol looks like. I felt like it’s meant to be after I learned that Team 8 is supported by Toyota-san. My name is「Serika」, it’s the same name as a car from Toyota (Celica). And my audition entry number is 8. 　 雑誌に載った写真は、ずっと残るから Because the photos that’s on magazines is forever

チアのスクールで、ジャズやヒップホップも習いました I learned Jazz and Hip Hop trough the cheerleader school

私は、幼稚園の年長のときからピアノを習ってました。7年やってたんですが、楽譜は読めなくて、ひたすら耳で覚えて弾く、っていうことを繰り返してました。 I learned to play the piano since the 2nd year of Kindergarten. I studied for 7 years, but I can’t read the sheet music, so I play by remembering the notes that I hear and repeating it.

小学校1年生からは、チアダンスのスクールにも通いはじめました。小さいころは背が高いほうだったからか、真ん中で踊らせてもらうことが多かったです。地元のプロバスケットボールチームの試合や、イベントで踊ったりしてました。 Starting from the first grade of Elementary school, I went to a cheerleader school. Because I was tall when I was little, there were a lot of times when I danced right in the middle.  I danced at my local pro basketball matches and at events.

チアダンスの中には、ジャズダンスやヒップホップダンスの基礎も含まれてるので、いろんなジャンルのダンスを習いました。なので、チーム8に入ってからも、そのときの経験は活かせてると思います。 The basics of jazz dance and hip hop dance are also included in the cheers, so I learned various types of dances.  And I think that I’ve been using that experience ever since I joined Team 8.

アイドルには興味がなかったんですけど、芸能界へのあこがれはありました。ミュージカルとかのオーディションもいくつか受けたことがあります。だけど、声が小さくて堂々とできなかったので、受かったためしがありませんでした。そんなとき、お母さんがチーム8のオーディションを見つけてきてくれたんです。小学6年生の終わりのころだったから、自分の中では「このオーディションで最後」だと思って受けました。 I didn’t have any interest in idols, but I adore the entertainment world. I’ve taken a number of auditions for musicals. But, because my voice was small and I didn’t left an impression, I didn’t pass any of them.  During that time, my Mother found the audition for Team 8. Because it was during the end of Elementary school, I took the audition with thinking that this is my last audition.

「選抜」は、うれしさよりも空気の重さがつらい About the Senbatsu, rather than being happy, the weight of the atmosphere was painful

アイドルになってみたら、思った以上に楽しかったです。ファンの方の前で歌ったり踊ったりすると、すごく元気になれます。46人も友だちができたのもうれしいです。私はモノマネをするのが好きだから、よくメンバーの自己紹介をマネしてます。みんなと一緒にいると、ぜんぜん飽きません。 I had more fun than I originally expected after being an idol. I’m really happy to be able to sing and dance in front of the fans. I’m also happy to have 46 friends. Because I love to do impersonations, I often impersonate the member’s self-introduction. I don’t get tired at all when I’m with the members.

でも、いろんな機会で「選抜」されることが、一番つらいです。去年、「汚れていた真実」という曲を歌うユニットに選抜していただいたんですけど、うれしさよりも、発表後の空気の重さに耐えられなかったです。私は「みんなと仲良くしていたい」っていう気持ちのほうが強いんです。 But, the senbatsu is the hardest opportunity that I received. I was able to be part of the senbatsu unit that sang “Kegarete iru Shinjitsu”, rather than being happy, I couldn’t handle the weight of the atmosphere after the announcement. “I want everyone to get along” that feeling was strong inside of me.

でも、ダンスでは負けたくありません。チアダンスをやってたからか、最初のころはチーム8の中でも踊れるほうだったと思うんですけど、最近はほかのメンバーもぐんぐん成長してきて。「ちょっとやばいな」って思ってます。だから、ダンスはもっとがんばりたいです。 But, I don’t want to lose at dancing. Because I did cheers, at first there were times when I danced right in the middle, but lately various members has steadily improved. “This not good”, So, I’ll do my best at dancing even more.

救急車で運ばれても、はしゃいでた I was still in high spirits even though I was in an ambulance

小さいころは、超やんちゃな子でした。幼稚園の発表会で、張りきって踊りすぎて、高い舞台から落ちたこともあるんです。そのときはすごい騒ぎになって、救急車が来たんですけど、私はケガひとつなくて。病院の中でも、「わー」ってはしゃいでたみたいです。 I was a really naughty girl when I was little. During a recital in Kindergarten, I fell off the high stage because I was dancing with too much energy.  That was a really big deal at the time and an ambulance came to pick me up even though I was fine. I was in high spirits even in the hospital.

目立ちたがり屋だったから、地域の盆踊り大会でも賞をもらうために張りきって踊ってました。ひとりっ子だったけど、特にさみしくなかったです。座る位置を変えながらひとりでトランプ対決をしたり、何役もかねておままごとをやったりしてました。 Because I want to be the center of attention, I danced with all my might because I want to win the local Bon Odori competition. Even though I’m an only child, I’m not especially lonely. Like playing cards alone while changing my sitting position and also it doubled as playing house.

アイドルも大好きでした。一番最初に好きになったのは、SKE48の松井珠理奈さん。「こんな度胸が自分にもあればな」って思いました。そのあとも、渡辺麻友さん、大島優子さんとどんどん推しが変わって、いま一番あこがれてるのは、NMB48の渡辺美優紀さんです。　 I love Idols. The first one that I loved was SKE48’s Matsui Jurina-san. I thought to myself that if only I can be as courageous like her.  After that, I gradually oshihened to Watanabe Mayu-san, Oshima Yuko-san and the person whom I looked up to the most right now is NMB48’s Watanabe Miyuki-san.

うれしくて、お母さんのところまで走っていった I was so happy that I ran all the way to my Mother

中学2年生のとき、学校で進路希望を聞かれました。一生懸命考えたんですけど、どう考えても、自分はアイドルしかやりたくなくて。「アイドルにならなきゃ、ほかにやりたいことも見つからないまま人生が終わる！」って思いました。それでチーム8のオーディションを受けたんです。 In the 2nd grade of Middle School, I was asked about my career interest. I thought about it really hard but no matter what I only wanted to become an idol. “I have to become an idol, I can’t find other things that I wanted to do so my life will end just like that!”. So I took the audition for Team 8.

合格の電話をもらったときは、うれしくてお母さんの仕事場まで走っていきました。「受かったよー！」って報告したら、お母さんも信じられなかったみたいで、パニックになってました。私も気持ちを落ち着かせようと思って、おばあちゃんの家に泊まりにいったんですけど、その日は興奮してぜんぜん寝つけませんでした。 When I got the call telling me that I passed the audition, I ran all the way to my Mom’s workplace because I was so happy. “I passed the audition” after telling her that, my Mom can’t believe it and was in shock. I thought to myself that I must calm down and went to my Grandmother’s house for a sleepover, but I didn’t sleep that day because I was too excited.

私は、メンバーから「ななみんって、恥ずかしいことがないんだね」ってよく言われます。ライブも握手会も、全力でアイドルしてるからだと思います。ダンスはへたなんですけど、誰かに見てもらえることがうれしいんです。「今日はレッスンがある」っていうだけでもうれしい。アイドルにあこがれてアイドルになったので、活動のすべてがうれしいんです。s The members often told me “Nanamin, you don’t get embarrassed right”. I think that is because during live performances or handshake events I give it my all to be an idol. Even though I’m not good at dancing, I’m happy if someone is watching me. I’m also happy if there’s a lesson. Because I’ve become an idol that I adore, all of my activities makes me happy.

公演や握手会では、「私だったら、こうしてもらいたいな」って思うことをするように心がけています。公演でも全力でレスするし、握手会に来ていただいた方を覚えるためにいつもノートを取っています。いつの間にか、「釣り師」って呼ばれるようにもなりました。でも、ぜんぜんいやじゃないです。大好きなみるきーさん（渡辺美優紀）も、そう呼ばれているから。 During the show or handshake events, “If it were me, I would like to receive this” I always have that thought in my mind. I gave it my all during shows and lessons, I also wrote a note to remember all the people who came to the handshake event.  And before I know it, people started calling me a “fisher”. But I don’t mind it at all. Because my beloved Mirukii-san (Watanabe Miyuki) is also called that.

Oguri Yui Solo Interview “The day that I became an Idol”

「踊るのが好きなの？」ってママに言われて “Do you like to dance?” Asked my mom

私は、チーム8に入る前は人見知りな子でした。ちっちゃいころは目立ちたがり屋だったそうなんですけど、小学校に入ると、だんだん人前で緊張するようになって、声も小さくなっちゃう…そんな感じでした。 I was a shy person before I joined Team 8. I like being the center of attention when I was a child, but after I enrolled in elementary school, I gradually became nervous appearing in front of people and my voice also became smaller… It’s like that

でも、踊るのは大好きでした。音楽がかかると、自分で勝手な振りつけを考えて踊り出すんです。そんな私を見て、ママが「踊るのが好きなの？」って言って、ダンスのスクールに入れてくれました。小学校4年生のときです。それからチーム8に入るまでの2年間、ヒップホップダンスを習ってました。 But, I love to dance. With the music on, I made a choreography on my own and danced to it. My mom asked “Do you like to dance?” while looking at me and then enrolled me into a dance school. That was in the 4th grade. In the 2 years up until I joined Team 8, I learned Hip-Hop dance.　

AKB48のこともずっと好きだったので、ダンスをはじめたころから「私もAKB48になりたい」って思うようになりました。年齢制限があったので一時期はあきらめかけてたんですけど、チーム8のオーディションはギリギリ大丈夫だったので、はじめて挑戦しました。 I’ve always loved AKB48, and ever since I’ve started dancing I wanted to be part of AKB48. There was a period when I gave up on it because of the age restriction, but because I barely qualified to take the audition for Team 8, it was my first go at it.

わるい意味でのポジティブ思考がなくなった I was thinking positively in a bad manner

オーディションでは、「将来はモデルになりたい」って言いました。その場でポージングしてみてって言われたので、恥ずかしかったけど、雑誌で見たポーズを4つくらいやってみました。 During the audition I said that my dream was to be a model. And I was told to pose on the spot, it was embarrassing but I did about 4 poses that I got from looking at the magazines.　

合格の連絡をもらった日は、ちょうど家族で箱根旅行に行ってたんです。神社の看板に、願いごとをしながら鳥居をくぐると願いが叶うって書いてあったので、合格できるようにお願いしました。その日の夜、家に帰ったときに連絡をもらったので、「ちゃんと叶ったんだ」って思いました。 The day that I got the news that I passed the audition, my family and I went on a trip to Hakone. “If you pass the shrine’s gate while making a wish, it will come true” was written on the billboard of the shrine, and because of that I wished that I pass the audition. That night when we came home, I got the news that I passed the audition. I thought to myself that “It properly came true”

チーム8に入る前の私は、わるい意味でのポジティブ思考でした。こりないというか、へこんだりすることがなかったんです。でも、チーム8の合宿ではじめて泣くくらい怒られて、自分が変われたと思います。ちゃんと言われたことを覚えて、自分の頭で理解しようとするようになりました。 Before I joined Team 8, I was thinking positively in a bad manner. I was obstinate and doesn’t get depressed. But I was so angry that I cried for the first time during Team 8’s training camp. I’ve changed. Properly remembering the things that I’ve been told and understanding it in my head

メンバーの話もちゃんと聞けるようになりました。前は、自分の考えてることを言うだけだったけど、年齢も出身地もバラバラなメンバーたちの中で、「私がこう言ったら、どんなふうに感じるのかな？」って考えてしゃべるようになりました。少し大人になれたのかなって思います。 I’ve come to properly listened to other member’s stories. Before I was only saying what was on my mind, because the members come from different places and age group, now I thought “What will happen if I say this?” before I talk to them. I’m a step closer to becoming an adult.
