what would you say is currently your favorite part of the writing process? has this changed for you over time?
Oufffff hard to say. Getting into it is always a little hard, because I'm impatient and have ADHD, so I want the dopamine of the finished thing completely, and when I start a fic, there's always the daunting moment of "oh my God that's so much work still to do!"
But when I power through, I eventually hit a spot where I get in a flow. I'd say that's maybe my favorite part. Suddenly, every scene clicks into place, the dialogue starts basically writing itself, you find parallels and moments and get little ideas that weren't there before and every line is a moment of "damn holy shit, I'm doing something here!"
It's very very breakable, but it's always fun while it lasts.
I also love getting and developing ideas, but that's less of a process and more of a "they jump at me while I'm innocently minding my business" kind of situation lol Very rarely do I sit down in front of my laptop and think "Idea. Now." (Even rarer that that tactic works lol)
important reminder that most people you follow online are significantly lamer than you think they are including me. and if you feel insecure comparing yourself to someone online: DON'T. theyre probably also lame and weird. most people on the internet are

I'm a phannie since 2025, by the way, I didn't force anyone to be closeted, I didn't even know these men while they were closeted. If you don't know me or the men who have explicitly said that they're fine with being shipped multiple times, why are you in my inbox, wagging your finger at me :)) maybe go and moralize about the RPF issues you have in your own fandom, the stalking and harasment of actos and their partners has gotten pretty wild.
I'm a fanfic writer, I'll talk about fanfic issues. The up-surge of ai in fandom spaces concerns all of us, the skin that was developed to detect at least a portion of those fics helps all of us, the discourse has long transcended heated rivalry.
I don't think me saying "I wish more people would hype up real writers in response to ai slop" is even that bad, so idk why you are in here mad as fuck right now. The fandom shift to fandom being more about clout and less about community was a general criticism, none about your fandom, it's happening everywhere.

So much ai fanfic discourse on my twitter timeline all day long, every day now (most of it currently happening in the Heated Rivalry fandom, don't worry), and it's really sad, because there's so much energy being put into glooming and dooming about fanfic, and discussing problems with fandom/fanfic culture, etc. and I keep waiting for these people to band together and start reccing human authors, and start bouncing ideas off each other, to be more involved in the creative process and offer to beta read or help translating (since a lot of the ai "authors" stated they only used ai for that, which... questionable, but alas) and create some beautiful human art or support the one that they have and it's just... not happening.
Just so much discourse that discourages actual writers, but it also discourages readers away from fanfic. That's like. Part of the problem, we recognize that, yes? Once upon a time, the focus of fandom was community and now it's content, and discourse, and hot takes, and yelling about "big accounts" wanting clout and fame, and yelling about ai, but if you do nothing to celebrate the human artists and writer you have and find together as a fandom, then one day ai slob is all we'll have left.

Smut and me are a little at war, but I've gotten tons better at it. I still catch myself instinctively avoiding it, and overthinking every single sentence, and while everything else flows very easily and quickly, it's like trudging through knee-high snow when I write smut, because I'm so in my head about it.
But that's all happening in the background. Don't get me wrong, I don't post anything that I hate, it's not that I look at stuff like my demon Dan series or the Phampire smut and think "wow this sucks!", when I say "I suck at writing smut" what I mean is that every time I do write it, it's a fucking battle for me lmao

hellloo last time i met dnp the art i gave them was pretty weak so im here for a redemption arc in which i give them a little zine of a bunch of peoples art as pictured in the diagram above.
