Americans are taking to Twitter to wish Canadians a happy Canada Day and saying sorry for their country's current administration.

Ricardo Duchesne teaches sociology at the University of New Brunswick in Saint John, N.B. Outside of the classroom, he has appeared on far-right podcasts and Youtube channels, and penned articles where he writes about the "relentless occupation of the West by hordes of Muslims and Africans," and asserts that "only out of the coming chaos and violence will strong White men rise to resurrect the West."

But he said in an interview: "I can tell you this much, that Glen Assoun is 100 per cent factually innocent and he suffered every single day while he waited for his exoneration. I can say that Minister Lametti worked with dispatch to make sure that justice was done."

In a statement introducing the legislation, Senator Mike Lee of Utah said he spearheaded the bill in a bid to stop a president from "acting like a king [by] taking back the legislative powers that allow him to do so." The new bill, he said, "will go a long way to restoring the balance of powers in our republic."

In Shenher's book, "That Lonely Section of Hell," he said Wayne Leng, a friend of a woman who vanished, set up a tip line. Leng told Shenher he had gotten a call from a shady character who suggested Pickton would be worth investigating. The caller said Pickton boasted about a novel method for disposing of corpses — grinding up bodies and feeding them to his hogs or taking the meat to a rendering plant.
