colour to a colourless world

ive been a madoka magica fan since 2012, im ride or die for kyomami, and i did my time with magireco 2017 - 2020ish (before i fell off because of life reasons)- most of my reco girl opinions are shaped by the fact i remember them through disjointed translations before there was a serious effort to get everything done properly. the things im most excited for out of exedra is to get to re-experience all the personal stories of the girls & get adaptions of all the weird niche media that exists in this franchise!

some notes upon playing Magia Exedra

im primarily f2p, though im not against spending a little money every now and then.

i am not a strategist by any means, but im having fun trying to learn the game mechanics and how to counter them! i know theres guides for a lot of the battles but i enjoy taking a stab at them myself or asking friends first :) i dont mind not taking the "best" route, as long as im having fun

below the cut is information about my game progress & kioku's- who i haven't got yet, what level/magic level i have them at, what my favourite team is. it'll practically always be a little wrong as i enhance my girls, but ill try and keep it regularly updated

I had enough basic keys for 2 ten pulls, and both of them gave me top tier 5 star girl ascension

so sensing my luck, i raided all the refreshed shops, and got enough keys for another 10 pull that gave me another top tier 5 star girl

i also had enough for a 5 star key and 30 shards, which was nice

and then i decided to pull off the Sumire/Fuka exclusive banner & my first 10 pull gave me another 5 star girl, Nagis, who has just been added to the pool!

sadly, that was the end of my streak, i pulled up to 50 with no sign of the girls :/ but hey!!! the 5 star key from their gacha gave me another ascension on Mabayu!

Phew, i actually have way less of my 5*s than i thought! I kept struggling to find ones to add to my grind team when i needed to swap out, so i thought i'd kind of got them all... seems not!

My current crysalis team is Christmas Ren/Meru/Doppel Iroha/Kush/Eternal Sakura, though i might rework it now i have this data!

And my 4*s! really, Hazuki is the only other one I'd want to get at this point, but im sure ill collect them all eventually

as a little reference sheet for me, heres who i don't have & their roles:

I've done quite a lot of gacha pulls over the last year- for regular kiokus i wait until they're in the pool, but I went in wanting to collect every single one, so i pulled a lot on exclusive ones (don't talk to me about Homucifers gacha... 180 spins and ONE pull) I ran myself pretty dry though & they *keep* releasing exclusive gachas, so in 2026 im only going to pull for the ones i really want...

Finally, finally pulled Ren on the exclusive gacha- i was getting nervous that i wouldn't get one of them and they'd be separated

Getting Ren meant I committed to Rika from the giveaway, so now I have them both!

Plus! All the new things today meant I earned another 5* shard key and the best possible results. War is over, Mabayu is home, and I might be able to get top 10 in player match at last!!!

i have pulled 51 5 star units over the last 6 months, of which 22 were unique kioku. theres 10 kioku i haven't got my hands on yet, which includes all of the characters not currently in the main gacha (im a cheapskate with my gems & none of the 4 have been worth spinning on boosted rates for me) (and base(d) lux Madoka, of course, but ive excluded her from my data)

I have fully ascended 1 kioku. I have 1 kioku at +4, 1 at +3, 4 at +2, 9 at +1, and 6 kioku i have only pulled once.

despite the fact they were released on 4/4 & 18/4 respectively, im still yet to pull Kyoko or Sayaka....

I missed out on 1 exclusive kioku- Beach Sayaka

(i know ive said before that Sayaka's my least favourite of the quintet, but theres no need to punish me for it magidora!!)

i wouldnt say im waiting for any particular unit to be added to go hard for, but im excited for the Tart & Kazumi characters to join us! Mayu & Emiri are also some of my magireco characters, so im hoping they'll get added too (frankly, im shocked Emiri doesnt at least have a 3 star unit! at least we got to see her in the recent event portrait)
