Write about a family ritual, something your family members do only with each other. How did it start? Why has it continued?

Remy doesn’t really have any rituals, unless you count him trying to get alone time with his wife at every turn, and seeking her out for comfort any time something happens. I guess that kinda counts as a family ritual, since he could easily be putting her in a family way? (wink wink, nudge nudge)

He didn’t really have what he considers to be a real family growing up, so he doesn’t continue any of those rituals, but they were usually things relating to thieving and getting into other kinds of trouble like that.

Does your family have nicknames for each other? Write about them. How did they start? Why did they stick? What do nicknames suggest about the roles people play in your family?

Remy calls his wife Mississippi river rat, and she calls him Louisiana swamp boy. That state part’s easy enough to decipher, it’s where they’re from, but the rest came from when they first met, and getting a rise out of each other was the ultimate goal. Now of course they still have that goal in mind, but to different ends. (more of that wink wink, nudge nudge action)

Write about a family secret. If your family has no shared secrets, write about a family shame, something that simply isn’t discussed.

She looked him over and shook her head. “Have you actually ever tried one on before? You’ll be surprised.” Monica chuckled.

"I have half the mind to walk around in a bikini. Ugh this heat is worse than New Orleans." Monica slouched in the chair she was sitting in and looked over at the other person. "Is it just me?"

Feeling a presence next to her she turned around and saw that it was Remy. “Right now I’m considering putting a bell on you.” She spoke with a slight smile. Ororo then glanced up at the sky and shrugged some. “You know I like flying in peace.”

“Annie, please tell me you’ve met the kid with the webs, because he does this thing, and I just can’t figure it out.” He’d been trying to observe and mimic the motion, but he knew his looked nothing like the kid’s; apparently he just couldn’t manage to still his hips. “Do you think the web thing is made possible by his mutation, or is it all to do with the weird leotard he wears? Also the pose thing is weird, right? I’m not the only person who thinks it unnecessary?”

It was highly unsettling to be in another Earth. It didn’t feel like home and despite the familiarity of the city it was still foreign to her. But she knew that everything happened for a reason and she was quickly figuring that out. It was one of the reasons why she had chosen to stay in the sky for a bit. Keeping herself out of sight of anyone when she finally did touch down she was in a different part of the city. Stepping out onto the sidewalk she glanced around before starting to walk.

Remy taking trips into town, if for no other reason than it gave him the chance to get out and socialize with people that didn’t expect him to try and save the world on a regular basis. So it wasn’t at all unusual to find him roaming the city, but it was a little unusual for him to spot his best friend turning a corner as though she’d appeared seemingly out of thin air; though he knew better. Rushing to catch up, he fell into step with her rather quickly, and leaned closer to whisper conspiratorially. “I thought it seemed a little cloudier than it was supposed to, were you up taking a covert soar, as it were?”
