Person: *says something vaguely nice to me* Me: I’m in love with you. Person: *says something in a neutral/indifferent tone to me* Me: Geez…if you hate me so much why don’t you just tell me???
yeah that shit sucks
As someone who suffers from BPD, I can’t even begin to explain how our fear of abandonment differs severely than those w/o the disorder. This disease is shit. It’s hearing the slightest change in tone, seeing the most discreet change in posture, constantly and endlessly analyzing everyone to pick up on signs that indicate that they’re going to leave you. It’s replaying seemingly miniscule things in your head over and over and over that impact you so severely that it becomes a physical pain- oh, your friend is hanging out with someone else? Guess what, they hate you now, they’ve already replaced you, you’re gone and forgotten about, just like that. Our fear of abandonment is rarely subsided. Our fear of abandonment is the only thing we know won’t leave us. Our fear of abandonment is crippling and toxic and it festers inside of us until we lash out in pure RAGE, driven by those formerly repressed emotions, and push the ones we want to stay away from us. We fear our own fear of abandonment. I am tired of being this way. I am tired of having this disorder.
just your daily reminder,
you can’t heal someone who is too comfortable with the state of being broken.
hey
i just wanted to say if you’re currently going through a breakup or you’ve lost someone you thought would be around for much longer then they actually were, please please remember to look after yourself.
feel all the feels, get it all out, and then remember that the world continues spinning, the sun rises and sets every single day. missing someone comes in waves, it could even be that the person you’re missing is still in your life, it’s just different.
change is very often a good thing.
work on yourself and take care of yourself before trying to work on + fix others.
im proud of you.

i'm hotter than i think i am but i'm also uglier than i think i am. won't elaborate
yeah
it’s gotten to the point where someone can say literally anything and my brain goes straight to a Hozier lyric.. this is unhealthy.
you know what doesn’t get talked about enough in writing circles
completed story grief
That feeling you are left with when you have finished a long project - whether it is long because it contains a lot of words, or long because it took you a long time to write, or long because it took you a long time to start writing it - when you’re happy because you finished it but empty because it is finished. You took out all of the words that were inside of you, at least all of the ones that pertain to that story, and the relief that follows such an action can be devastatingly exhausting.
On top of just the empty feeling, there follows that bittersweet sense of understanding that this thing which has for so long been your companion is no longer just your companion, and that you have in some ways severed the ties with it, because you will not be writing it anymore. You might write other stories related to it. You might write stories in the same world. Or stories with the same characters. But THAT story is finished. That story has been taken out of you and put where it can be a part of everyone that reads it. That is unimaginably happy and sad at the same time.
So I just want to say, I guess, be nice to yourself after you finish a story. Yes it’s happy, yes it feels good. But if you also feel a little like you’ve just lost something, give yourself some time to process that, because in a way you did. It’s a happy loss, the sort of loss wildlife rescuers feel when an animal they saved is able to go back and be wild again. It’s a good, happy thing, but it’s also okay to take a little time to be sad and take care of yourself.
i just finished writing a story i spent 2 years on and oh my gosh i couldn’t relate to something more if i tried.
Mindfulness can be useful for literally E V E R Y O N E, but I found it particularly helpful for anxiety– this exercise got me out of the house and functioning again. °˖✧*• Shop, Patreon, Book, Mailing List *•. ✧˖°`

im going to come out and say it: isolating is a self-destructive behavior. it might not be as obvious and immediately self-destructive as say, impulsive spending, drug use or risky behaviors, but it gradually decays relationships and can deepen your mental health issues. often, our impulse is to retreat from others and responsibilities for “self care” or to “work on ourselves” and obviously sometimes we need mental health breaks, but there’s a line you cross from “taking a break” to full on neglecting your relationships with others and your social needs that can be incredibly damaging to yourself and others over time
