expectations are resentments waiting to happen

I wear a shirt every day to work that says “PROFESSIONAL ROLE MODEL” on the front of it and honestly I never feel worthy of wearing it because my life is far from together and I should not be anybody’s role model especially elementary aged children

for the first time in a long time i had a whole evening with a friend just talking. no walls, no fronts, no bullshit. we related about things, opened up to each other, brought each other up, shared life goals, and were just people. since leaving school i haven't had a lot of time with other people my age and it was so nice to talk to someone who was also “just figuring it out”. my heart is full from this friendship and i hope to have many more evenings with this person in the future.
