From a general point of view, the planet Mercury is associated with communication and how we process information. Considering that Mercury is in retrograde, we can expect themes of reevaluation, release, reflection, reconstruction, rebuilding, removing and realizing to color our experiences. What have our experience communicated to us? What stories, or unfavorable narratives have we taken on and restricted ourselves to. How are we communicating our authentic desires, or are we communicating them at all? How have we learned to view our world? Is it through our eyes, our parents eyes, our teachers eyes, our society’s eyes?

With Mercury retrograde occurring during Taurus season, the themes of the retrograde are woven into what Taurus, or more specifically, Venus stands for. Venus is interested in beauty, pleasurable experiences and joy. Connecting all of this together, life is guiding us to RELEASE old, stagnant and no longer useful energy, people, things, situations, thoughts, habits and beliefs in order for us to truly experience the joy, freedom and pleasure we want out of life. Mercury retrogrades are particularly powerful because they make us reflect and reevaluate where we are in our life, identify what we want and therefore allow us to identify how we can get into alignment with those things.
