These are strongly inspired by the comic series Fables and the game The Wolf Among Us - which I recommend to everyone - but you don’t need to read/play it to enjoy this! (I linked the wiki for the characters they’re inspired by so you can get more insight, but your sims don’t have to look like them). This legacy only has five generations because I know I often lose interest after that amount of time, but feel free to keep going for however long you want!
The gender of the heir/spouse doesn’t matter unless specified in a generation’s specific story.
The heir can have any aspiration you like unless specified.
You can have a traditional legacy “hard mode” start with no money, etc if you like, but it’s not required. Feel free to start with a starter home of your choosing with freerealestate. (no excessive money cheats though, kinda struggling to get by is half the fun)
And remember that even though this has rules it’s meant to be fun, so if you have to cheat/work around a certain rule that’s okay — I’m just happy you’re playing my legacy in the first place!
Generation One - The Big Bad Wolf
Growing up, you were always..different. You were hairier and bigger than most children, and being one of the only wolf/human hybrids, you don’t quite know what to call yourself. You’re not a werewolf and don’t have to fear the full moon, but when you get angry you can feel the wolf part of your blood take over. After being bullied and looked down on most of your life for your abilities even though you always tried to do good in your community, you decided to start fresh somewhere new. You just want people to see you for who you are, not what you are.
Must have the following traits: Hot-Headed, Loner, Good
Reach the top of the Detective career
Must have a set of multiple children (Twins or triplets, you can use cheats for this)
Generation Two - Rose Red
Having siblings from birth, you always had someone to play with, but you felt overshadowed by them; even though your parents never resented you for not getting straight A’s, it was difficult to shine at family reunions and that made you resent them. You overcompensate with a flamboyant look and skip school frequently, but you’re still smart and cunning. When you reach adulthood and experience death but are resuscitated due to something special in your blood, you realise parties and romance aren’t all there is to life, and you change career paths completely.
Must have the following traits: Romantic, Outgoing, Noncommittal
Have a very low relationship with your siblings growing up and lose touch in young adulthood, then reconnect when you reach adulthood
Skip school at least once a week
Switch from the Criminal career (Oracle Branch) to the Politician career (Charity branch) once you age up to Adult
Must be brought back to life once (done in-game by a spouse/partner by pleading with Grim or with a Death Flower, but you may also cheat for this)
Generation Three - Cinderella
Your life was hectic growing up; your parents were always partying when you were a kid, then they separated and the parent you lived with was working non-stop as a teen, but you learned to fend for yourself and develop invaluable life skills. You’re a great housewife and your partner and children think you own a shoe store, but you have a secret: you’re a secret agent tasked with protecting supernatural beings all around the world.
Must have the following traits: Neat, Self Assured, Genius
Master charisma and parenting skills
Reach the top of the Secret Agent career in the Diamond Agent branch
If you have Get To Work, actually open a clothing/shoe store and have your children “visit” on weekends.
Generation Four - Prince Charming
You’re simply irresistible to everyone. Literally. Just one look from you makes ladies and men alike faint. But your good looks hide a less romantic motive: you want to get rich. You believe that coming from a family with supernatural ties entitles you to endless riches, and you’ll do anything to get them.
Must have the following traits: Materialistic, Snob, Romantic
Purchase the Beguiling reward trait before reaching young adulthood
Get married three different times to rich sims and take half their money in the divorce (you may cheat for this/make your own rich sims townies)
Reach the top of the Business career in the Investor branch
Generation Five - Beauty
You grew up with everything you could ever want, but your parent’s true nature was revealed to you as a teenager and made you nauseous; even though you’ve always liked nice things and enjoyed having money, you refuse to cohabit with such a sleazy person and move out as soon as you can with your savings from part-time jobs. You swear to protect those around you from people who might prey on them, while living a quiet life.
Must have the following traits: Good, Bookworm, Perfectionist
Move out as soon as you reach young adulthood and live in a small apartment or house
Must either reach the top of the Writer career in the Author branch (or, for storytelling purposes, you may get money from book royalties and “open a bookshop” as this gen’s “job”)
Marry a hot-headed sim and fail to have children*
*If you choose to keep playing past 5 generations, you can of course have children.
