when it hits fall/winter, the entire storybrooke police department gets a set of snow gear, which does include a heavier coat. but emma’s first real heavy winter coat is something that regina picks out. it’s just for her. it’s black, no feathers, soft, a little puffy but movable, not scratchy or fleece-y, something that keeps emma warm and feels like a hug for when she’s stuck on late shifts and misses regina. regina doesn’t want to change emma’s style — no matter how much she may tease, she fell in love with emma because she is emma. but she wants emma to have the very best of everything, and she takes great pride in providing for her and henry. emma never had anyone provide for her before, so it’s nice that regina cares so much about her body temperature.
