* riverdale savior !

“ ━ hey, hey! i told you i’d be there and i’m going to be there, you hear me? “

archie’s voice rings out abruptly, a small pant becoming only slightly evident as he gracefully rolls onto the roof of the closest building, taking the second to stay on the ground.

“ come on, juggy. when have i ever flaked on you? me? flaking? on you? ha! i once took you on a date with me and CHERYL, jug. i risked my LIFE to spend time with you, why would i flake on you in any less dire of a circumstance after that? ”

                                      “ ahem.” an intruding cough comes from ahead, from a particularly looming figure.

archie holds up a finger, essentially telling him to shut up for a second. wow, these guys have no respect for personal time, do they?

it only takes the other mere seconds to raise eyebrows, and to start looming forward. lack of manners!

the devil works hard, but archie andrews works harder.

slender legs jump forward, thighs wrapping around a neck and body weight leaning forward just enough to knock the poor dude off balance before rolling off, webs shooting out to pin limbs down. if he could only have a second!

“ listen, i’ll be right over. give me like…. 15 minutes tops. it’d be sooner, but nyc traffic is such a bitch, you know ━ ”

                           he gets cut off by a slipping web, the thug starting to come to ━   

                                                           “ whoops, subway station, coming right to ya ━ ! ”

these are the times where archie andrews finds himself inexplicably glad about the fact that not many others loiter on roofs.

granted, the bruise starting to bloom on his left arm is going to raise some suspicion, but what can he do? he’ll say it was just collateral, ran into a pole, something like that! then again, would it ever be surprising if he actually was in a fight? damn hot head.

knock knock, right on time!

cue a look. a very long look. one that is very easily seen through. he’s slightly disgusted, morbidly uncomfortable, and don’t worry. he’s going to be picking out hairs from his mouth for years. consider that collateral damage of a run in, ha! 

he'd walked through these halls millions of times over the past year or two, but right now? right now was the first time he was actually nervous. nerves didn't even hit him on his first day of high school the way it was hitting him right now, brain pinpointing everything he did from the breaths he took to the steps he'd take. and why, exactly?

because of who he was escorting, he had a serpent in tow.

the news of the schools joining had mixed reviews from the andrews boy. he would get his best friend back, yes, but... there were other factors, factors that were murky in of their own. like the fact that there were certain things that he couldn't do in public, and the fact that even in secret he had issues with them.

would he ever fall for someone good for him? hm, this was archie andrews. the verdict? probably not !

still, he sticks by his side, explaining schedules and lockers and the ridiculous parts of riverdale high. once bells go off and students disperse, however, he'll slow his walk, hands shuffling into pockets nervously. he looks up at him, almost expectantly. 

" so what are we.... " he purses his lips, the standard deer in the headlights look coming back full force. he was good at it. " going to do about... us? "
