Scammers, advertisers, fascists, and other ilk are counting on you to have 0 space between stimulus > feeling > emotional reaction. When you make snap emotional reactions, you are easily sold and gullible. Building space to think in between those things instead of snapping to a response is praxis.

A snap emotional response looks like :

sees porn you think is gross

don't want to see it (this is where you would build space to make an educated decision, but…)

snap response based on disgust reaction: "we should CENSOR this!"

this behavior aligns with fascist ideology

If something happens that upsets you, you can train yourself to respond to it with temperance instead of reactivity. It only takes time, attention, and self-compassion. Learn to watch your thoughts go by instead of subscribing to them automatically. Pause. Breathe. Think.

We can overcome the programming of our decaying, evil nation. We can heal our relationships with one another and ourselves. Retain perspective: that online weird porn-maker is not your enemy, they are a victim of our system just like you. The capitalist class is ruining the world. Not the weirdos.
