Just give a little smile and the world will smile will back
Duanes Syndrome- becoming more of a weirdo
As I have said before I have duanes syndrome in my left eye. Its an uncurable disease that people are born with.
Now that I have started University, I have noticed my eye more and more. I have noticed how much more my eye becomes lazy when I am tired. My head doesn't move to compensate for my restricted view and I end up doing 'my little party trick' as my mum used to say.
This has had an effect in my lectures and day to day life with more people staring at me thinking what the heck is she doing. Not only is it not nice but its also making me more concious that I need to be 'normal' so I dont get looked at.
Although I know from reading others experiences of bullying due to duanes that I have had it pretty easy, looks are so horrible especiall when I don't even realise it happens.
It makes me empathize more with people who have worse physical abnormalities such as Downes syndrome or Cerebal Palsy becuase they constantly get judged and it is harder for them to hide it away.
I never noticed how much Duanes was so noticable to others until I started Uni and the looks I get. It is now making me work harder to hide it to stop this.

Henry the Steering Wheel Monster
Meet Henry. Henry has luxurious, thick turquoise fur, sharp white felt teeth, and a permanently freaked out expression (because of your bad driving). Sold on Etsy.
Friends or Control freaks?
All the time we have been growing up everyone has always said never give in to peer presure. I have come to the realisation that you have to be a rediculously strong to never do something your friends suggest. I do it to try and please people, to make them like me and to try and fit in. I know that this is certainly not the right thing to do but I know without 'living a little' as most friends would say when persuding someone to do something I know I would have no one at all.
First lecture today... so close to falling asleep, know how this year is going to go...

Freshers
SO I have now been at universtiy for one week and it sure has been one hell of a week. At the begining of the week I was homesick, which is a very strange thing for me concidering I go away a lot without my parents. I believe it was because that I realy hadn't phyced myself up for actually going to uni so I was so scared about what the hell I was doing. On wednesday it finally clicked (as I was casually sat on the loo) that it was going to be fine.
I have made quite a lot of friends. My closest friend is mad to basicly sum her up. Constantly on the go not letting me stop for everything which has been fun. We have been out every night together apart from tonight ( sad times) and had a laugh. I have made good friends with one of my flat mates, she is a babe to say the least always funny even if she is so sporty and that really isn't me :P The other guy is very weird and often annoys me with his lack of understanding on how to tidy up. He has no real friends and never goes to the SU or anything which is perculiar. We also managed to make friends with a girl who had never been drunk... till we took her out clubbing thursday. She has had to of been the cutest drunk I have ever seen.
There has also been a lot of drama with my friends coming and pissing me off and making me feel like poo and my friends lifes with differnet guys. We also are loving all the fire alarms we are getting. This is happening almost daily now because they are that sensitive, even a hair dryer set it off!!
I start my lectures on monday which im really looking forward to although the getting used to work thing could be very interesting indeed!!
