“What the hell is that thing!” 

North coughed, the sickening burn from his wound making his head spin. He couldn’t think on that though, the pain or the fear, it was the last thing in his mind. He was more focused on South and Theta. He’d taken the hit without a second thought for his own safety, shoving a mouthing off South out of the way the last moment before catching the Meta’s blade to the gut. Why did she have to taunt that thing anyways!?

Carolina had to wonder how her daughter managed to scream as loudly as she currently was, given her small size. She had tried everything to get her to quiet down, tried feeding her, changing her diaper, distracting her. Nothing seemed to be working.

“Mama mama look!” 

South stopped in the doorway of her brother’s room, surprised. He was sitting on his bed, head in his hands. “North?”

North stood silently by the door, his helmet tucked under one arm as he watched South throw one thing after another around her room. It was best to wait it out right now, not get too close until the rage simmered and she wasn’t as likely to break his face with something. It was never easy when she was like this- or ever really, South was a very difficult person to be around on a good day. But it was his job to take care of her, a job he loved, despite the times when all he wanted to do was shake her silly until she stopped being such goddamn brat.

Allison heaved her duffel bag onto her shoulder, walking the last few steps up to the familiar front door. She was almost home, and just in time, too.

“We need you, Delta.” Sigma’s voice was slow and steady, but was soon followed by a low growl.

He sat there, staring wide eyed as his sister screamed and cried, her toy broken on the ground after she tried to make it ‘fly’. Their mother tried to sooth her, offered her various other toys but, nothing was quieting the distraught child.

Tex was settled into her couch, prepared to enjoy her day off when her phone rang. She picked it up, a smile tugging at her lips as she answered it. “Hey, Noah, what’s up?”
