Hey guys, I'm gonna be pretty busy for the rest of this week and most of next week finishing up my class and getting ready for my pharmacy tech exam, so posts might be very minimal if at all on both Shanks and Doflamingo.

âActually it was three weeks and a day. I wore a glove over that hand the entire time and there was an intervention and everything. Roger threatened to abort me if I didnât wash it and I was scared that he could actually figure out how to abort a ten year old so I just did what he told me to do. But he stopped caring eventually when I was taking pictures of Madonna to the salon and asking them to do my hair like hers.â

Caesar ran his fingers through his hair, glaring at the now passed out man on his floor. This had not gone according to plan, and he had to find a way to get what he wanted. Hauling the man into his room his mouth twitched in aggravation as he half expected to hit the remaining drops in the used syringe.
In the long run that was a terrible idea.
When the red head finally woke up Caesar was sitting over him with a less than pleased face. He had gone through the manâs coat, his pants, his car, everything and not found what he wanted. The check book.
âYouâre making this harder than it needs to be Shanks.â
When he finally came to, Shanks immediately felt like he was going to puke. His entire body felt like it was under a heavy blanket, his movements strained and sluggish, almost as if he didn't really have control over himself. With that disgusting ache still in the pit of his stomach, he slowly opened his eyes, blinking a few times to adjust to the light and for his vision to focus, immediately falling upon a familiar figure.
 Caesar. Stupid. Fucking. Caesar.Â
He tried to move to sit up, but found he could barely move at all, just laying there. It was all coming back to him, the demand for money, the syringe being shoved into his neck... it was pissing him off more and more as the memories came flooding back to him.Â
"G... go fuck yourself." he muttered up at him, eyes glaring at the other man. "I ain't... giving shit to you!" Shanks snarled like a wild animal caught in a trap, trying to flex movement back into his muscles so he could punch Caesar in his stupid ass face. And it wasn't like he was worried. Oh no, he wasn't dumb enough to carry money or cards on him when he came to Caesar's place, knowing better than to leave those out while he was unconscious No, they were all hidden away safely at his apartment, far from CC's grasp.

âNO SHANKS!â Caesar suddenly roared seeing Shanks moving to the door. He grabbed the otherâs shirt and slammed him roughly against the door, not usually ever exhibiting that kind of force. He was not letting his only chance walk away from him, he had been prepared to do this to someone else, but Shanks just happened to be the unlucky sap tonight.
âIf I canât fet it from you, then Im going to fucking take it.â He snarled popping off the top of the lid. âYou wanted this big boy, you can have it!â He barked stabbing the syringe into the otherâs arm. Double the dose should knock the larger man right on his ass in a minute or two. Sure he would be out of pain, but he wouldnât be conscious for very long either. Backing away from him before he could react properly, Caesar prowled around the bar tender as a jackal would, waiting for their prey to stumble. âI wonât let you drive me into the ground because you are to selfish to give me what I need.â He said lowly
It all happened so quickly, Shanks never having seen Caesar act this way. Before he could even utter a word, he hissed as the needle was jammed right into his arm. That... that was too much, wasn't it? He never had injected that much into him before... right?Â
"Wh... what... w...was... tha...t...?" was all he could get out as his vision was already starting to go fuzzy, his balance slowly diminishing along with it. Shanks tried to step forward, only to stumble before his knees buckled, causing him to collapse against the door. Slowly sliding to the ground, his vision was quickly fading to black, the last thing his eyes focused on being Caesar's feet before he was totally out of it and unconscious.Â
Checking Out
Ceasar pushed Shanks back against the way, he wasnât playing around, and he didnât want Shanks to think he was. This was deadly serious and if CC couldnât coax it out of the red head then he was going to take it.
âLook you donât need to know why I need it Shanks. You need the drugs, I need the cash.â He said firmly, not missing Shanksâs agitated state nor how how was stroking his injured arm. Damn, he did /not/ want to end up like that, or worse off since it was Doflamingo he was talking about.
âYou need me Shanks. You cannot get this shit anywhere else, and because of me nothing that you take will even come close to relieving that pain!â He said in a hurried, angry tone when Shanks threatened to walk out. âNow what will it be.â He said pulling out the syringe filled with the familiar fluid, holding it out of the red headâs reach. âYou help me, I help you.âÂ
As much as he didn't want to believe him, he knew he was right. God damnit, he knew he was right about everything. "F... fuck you..." he muttered, staring at the syringe when it was held out almost mockingly at him. As much as Shanks hated this, he knew he needed something in his arm already to subside this pain before it got any worse.Â
...and he was determined not to get it from Caesar.Â
"I'm... I'm fucking done with you, you're not getting a cent out of me!" he snarled, moving to shove past CC so he could get out of there and find someone else who wasn't going to run him dry for the drugs he needed.
Checking Out
Caesar was pacing around his house when he heard the anxious knocking on his door. He was about to open the door and scream at whoever it was and slam it in their face until he saw who it was, then it hit him, this was a perfect opportunity! Caesar only had a few days left to gather the money he owed to Doflamingo, not to mention the interest he apparently owed.
Shanks was a man of business.. with his own bar and everything, surely he had that cash to spare. He could always earn it back with his business, yes, he could afford to let go of that⌠small⌠amount of cash couldnât he. Yes of course he could. Without wasting another moment, he opened the door and pulled Shanks inside, his customary smile far from gone as he locked the door behind him. The red head was here to shoot up again like usual. It was one hair of a painkiller, and he had been slipping in higher and higher doses, sometimes changing the mix up to keep Shanks coming back for more. Tonight it was going to pay off.
âYouâre later today than you were a few days ago.â He said in a clearly agitated, panicked? voice. âWe need to talk /partner/ I need some cash. Now you can give it to me easily and get what you came for, or you can spend the rest of your life in pain, because if you thought that your arm hurt before that injection. It will be nothing like what withdrawal from this is going to do to you.âÂ
Shanks was not expecting to be suddenly dragged in like that, Caesar suddenly all up in his face. What the hell was wrong with him? Something just seemed... off, the clown's usual snarky attitude now replaced with this starving desperation... but for what?
Money? Seriously?
He shoved him off, grumbling a bit as he thought it over, pacing back and forth. "How come you only want it now, huh? Why're you suddenly wanting things from me when you said you wouldn't?!" Shanks seemed nearly just as agitated as Caesar was, the pain getting to him. He reached up, massaging his fingers into the amputated nub of his left arm, muttering something under his breath.
"...I don't need you, I can get drugs from somewhere else! You're gonna... gonna run me dry, aren't you?!" he snapped at CC, his arm twinging with pain. "Now give me the god damned injection or I'm gonna fucking leave!"Â

It had been nearly two months now since Shanks had started going to Caesar for those pain medications. It had started at about once or twice a week he would visit the fellow professor in his office, though it had now slowly turned into more like four or five times a week, Shanks now meeting at either CC's place or having him come over to his own. Only two good things had come from this situation, one being that Shanks was nearly pain free every day, and the other being that he had certainly backed off the bottle.Â
Though those were just minor victories compared to the fact that he was now addicted to God knows what drugs that Caesar had been pumping into his veins for the last six weeks, not even realizing that he was basically a guinea pig for whatever experimental drugs the other man wanted to inject in him. All he cared about was finally becoming pain free for the first time in years.
He also slowly became more accustomed to what became the usual transaction between them when they would meet up, Shanks rolling up his sleeve and in return, spreading his legs for whatever Caesar wanted to do. It wasn't like it was really that awful, but no matter how doped up he was, all he could do when he was with the clown was think about Buggy. At least another injection made the guilt go away.
This was to be another one of their little meetups on this dark and cold night, Shanks anxiously knocking at Caesar's door as he waited for him to answer. It had been nearly two days since his last fill and the pain was creeping back like a spider taking its time going in for the kill. He needed to get rid of it no matter what.Â
Meeting the Family
She blinked. âHmm, I never actually thought about doing one of those, but Iâm sure it would be fun~â She might ask Buggy about doing something like that later if she remembered. Sheâd been pretty bored with nothing to do in her free time anyway. It would be nice to do something.
He said she could ask anything, huh? She was pretty curious about the whole âonly having one armâ thing, but she wasnât really sure if she could ask it. Well, he hadnât snapped at her so far, and he seemed fairly nice, so why not? So, here goes nothing. ââŚHowâd you lose your arm?â she asked, a bit quietly than she had been speaking, and tilting her head slightly as she did.
...yup, and there it was. Not like he minded, though. He knew it was coming at some point. Smiling a bit, he sat back in his chair, tilting his head back in thought. "Hmm... I think I had just turned 14 not too long before. Our father owned a ranch and we would usually work on it, taking care of the animals and stuff. Buggy and I were sent out to go fix some barbed wire fencing on the other end of the ranch and... well, my horse got spooked and tossed me into the broken fencing and partially trampled me." he nodded a bit.Â
"...and since we were so far out, it took nearly 7 hours before I finally got to a hospital. By then, it was so mangled that they just amputated it." he wiggled the nub a little. "Took a while getting used to it, but I manage."Â
